Why the Hate for this Movie?

I was googling DB news and came across a forum where that blogger from IGN "I like turtles" made a thread bashing DB the movie. What surprised me was that some of the people in the forum started wondering if all these extremely critical postings might be unjustified. Little by little people are realizing there's a heavy slant to some of these sites that corrupts their reporting of db news and maybe that will backfire on their little agenda as more decide to give the movie a chance.

Fair enough, but that's just one person. Not everyone is like that. Some people may give the movie a chance, but not everyone is going to warm up to it. I'm sure you understand that.

No I don't think everyone who hates the movie is a "hater" and just wants to see the movie fail, but there are those who have a serious chip on their shoulder, that's fo sho.

I agree that some of the nitpicking for this movie has gotten out of hand. A great example is DBZCool. He's just making most of the haters look bad.

The film will be fantastic to those who have faith in its potential to be good. My thinking at the time of posting was that those who will give the movie a chance will probably actually go to see it, therefore they'll enjoy it when they discover it's fantastic. I hope that clarifies things.

Understood. I apologize if I was attacking you. That wasn't my intention. If they think it's fantastic, that's perfectly fine. I will give the movie a chance and I'm sure a lot of haters will, too. The trailer that will arrive in a few weeks will give me an idea of whether or not I'll be seeing this in the theaters.

i showed to my friend yesterday the leaked teaser. he is an action and martial arts fan.
hes reacton? he started to laugh. he thought that it looked strange. but at the end he said that he remembers DBZ . he said that he hopes for some DB action and flying. i also feel like this.
it is what it is . i hate all the changes that could work in 2009 in a fantasy movie. but at least i hope for some action.
on sunday i also watched max payne. it just showed that FOX will never change. always the same problems.
i expect DB to be edited . so expect a directors cut .

Director's cut was a given the day fox said they will make this movie. The movie definitely won't be more than 90 minutes including credits. They usually always do another editing of the movie after it is completed.

Nah I think people are using process of deduction to come to the conclusion that this will be a sub par movie. Bad screen caps + Bad/moderate casting + little enthusiasm with the production team + fox + other variables and came to the conclusion that this won't be good.

It isn't alone just Fox, however it does play a factor into making an early judgment of an adapted film.

I don't think its so much that they hate DB, but I think a lot of people hate the direction this is going.

As for the hate with DB it is overrated by a lot of people who like anime but still respected. Many view it as "same **** different episode" and very long episodes of just jammering about nothing. However DB is very influential on many things.

Depends. The movie sites will either look beyond their own prejudice and see the movie for what it is, or probably not give it a chance. Reviews are funny like that. Very human... And no, I probably won't be online at all by the time the movie comes out. I'm nearing the end of the line in my internet life...

The trailer further proves this movie will be beyond terrible. I wouldn't have minded a DB movie, but the direction they took with the actors, director, storyline, etc. just makes the film look bad.

I for one think that Fox never had too much faith on it. Besides Fox, there's a vibe from this movie that doesn't sit well with me. I can't put my finger on it.

Also, judging by the pictures, I'm confused at what they are trying to go for visually. It looks grounded but is it? Dragonball is suppose to be fantasy-sci-fi, but I'm not getting that at all. Perhaps, not until the 'real' teaser comes out. Until then, the movie looks awkward and cheap.

Nothing looks good about this **** fest nothing at all, I am sure 10yr old kids might like it as it might remind them of a show they regularly watch on television called Power Rangers.
