The teaser is out![]()
Nope, just some promotional footage that was apparently never meant to be seen by the public.

So where are these posts? I have skimmed through here and haven't found an argument that justifies Roshi looking just like Chow Yung Fat. Oh the audience won't recognize him whoopty doo. He hardly looked like Chow Yung Fat in POTC and people still knew it. However POTC did actually advertise...DB umm..releases footage that isn't ment to be seen..Dude, just look at some of the posts on this forum defending the 'new improved' Master Roshi.t:
And Chinese have been good guys countless times. China censors anything they please for whatever reason they want. They felt the Chinese in POTC were offensive and thus censored them.Chinese have been bad guys countless times....
Chinese have been bad guys countless times....
Agreed. It's pretty ridiculous since Roshi doesn't look exactly like that.
Not to mention Dragon Ball is very popular in China.
I mean I don't really care since I think this whole thing is a fosh anyway.
What everyone's forgotten is that this movie was a RUSHED pre-strike movie. This movie got greenlit with $100 million because of the strike and Fox needed a tentpole in front of the cameras.
Now here we are and Fox is desperately trying to keep footage or basically anything from the movie under wraps.
It's pretty ridiculous since Roshi doesn't look exactly like that.

So where are these arguments? Most people are saying they don't understand why they didn't make Roshi traditional.

DorkyFresh said:i think the reason he looks the way he does is because they want Chow Yun Fat to be recognizable. he's the biggest star in this film and they need the American audience to recognize Chow so some of them will think "well that one guy from Crouching Tiger is in it, so it must be a good movie!" Chow Yun Fat wouldn't be very recognizable if he were always wearing shades and half his face were covered in facial hair. if that's the reason why they made Roshi the way he looks, then it's more of a financial decision than an artistic one. they're more concerned with getting as much money as they can, rather than honoring the anime.
ah, but i never said he was a box office draw. i simply said they want him to be recognizable. people like to see movies with actors and actresses that they recognize and this movie only has 3 actors that have been in action movies. 2 of them played teenagers that just happened to be in the middle of the action. Chow Yun Fat is the undoubtedly the most experienced in action movies and he IS the biggest name on the ticket. i'm not saying that he'd bring in loads of cash, but i'm just saying that they probably think that disguising the biggest star of the movie with half his face covered in hair and glasses isn't exactly the best idea considering there are no other REAL stars on this movie. i'm not saying that i condone it, but it's possibly one of the reasons why they made Roshi look so plain looking.Chow Yun Fat is not a box office draw. that's not a valid argument.
again...Chow was possibly the least known of the big stars on that sequel, which had already been established to be a blockbuster franchise. at any rate, if you don't want to accept these reasons then maybe you should provide some yourself instead of just trying to shoot others' down.Chow Yun Fat also wore tons of make-up for PIRATES 3 which made $900 million worldwide. Still not valid.
Ive seen enough episodes of DB, DBZ, and GT to know that this movie will suck hard....and with teeth...it's going to hurt
I was a supporter of this movie from the beginning but after seeing that trailer.... :facepalmAs i dont really go on the boards as much now i was wondering how the hates coming along.
Is it better or worse than before.
I'm still going to go see it and hope that it turns out better than I think it is... one of my main gripes is that the dragonballs.. apparently don't originate from Kami-sama... But it's possible that He does exist because in the voiceover Roshi says 7 mystics banded together to create the dragonballs but only 6 are shown(I think) There are a couple other reasons but meh.. That's my main gripe.. It might seem petty... but its not as petty as "There's no Krillin"What went wrong in your opinion
