Why the Hate for this Movie?

I'm still going to go see it and hope that it turns out better than I think it is... one of my main gripes is that the dragonballs.. apparently don't originate from Kami-sama... But it's possible that He does exist because in the voiceover Roshi says 7 mystics banded together to create the dragonballs but only 6 are shown(I think) There are a couple other reasons but meh.. That's my main gripe.. It might seem petty... but its not as petty as "There's no Krillin"

i don't think Krillin not being in the movie is petty. never underestimate the importance of the role of best friend. i'm not saying that Dragon Ball is anywhere near as deep or complicated as Lord of the Rings but Krillin had the possibility of being a Samwise Gamgee type of friend for Goku. Krillin is supposed to be Goku's best and closest friend and it seems like they excluded him not because it was what was best for the story or plot, but because it was convenient for a film that didn't have a decent pre-production.

Krillin should have been in this one. I'm pretty sure there are some actors out there who could have played him.

Its odd people want him when people never really liked him on the show because he was just a joke.

If Krillin or Tien are not in any sequels then who would take the beatings from the villans. Chi-chi perhaps LOL! :woot:

Thats not the point, it doesnt matter if you like him or hate him. His Goku best friend for **** sake and an important secondary character, and yet they just browse by him in this stupid film.

Don't watch the movie then.

I am assuming you are talking to me, if so it helps to quote the people you aim a statement at. And I dont intend to see this ****fest of an adaptation.:yay:

you're in a thread that asks the question "Why the Hate for this movie?" and you're asking us why we're complaining?

But most people here are still gonna watch it, SatEL has no intention of ever watching it so it doesn't affect him.

It affects future sequels to get the same watered down treatment. And we'll have to wait decades longer for a movie that stays true to the characters and doesn't give us that Elseworld like nonsense.

that doesn't mean he can't come in here and express what made him not want to watch it at all. not watching a movie doesn't mean it doesn't effect you. the movie being made at ALL effects anyone and everyone who has an interest in Dragon Ball one way or another. not wanting to see a movie doesn't mean you don't care.

I'm glad you mentioned it because this is what I was illustrating in my previous post - if Krillin or Tien are not in this movie how on earth are they going introduce them in any sequels, if at all? Or Maybe Chi-chi and Bulma are their replacements :wow:

If there are no plans to include them then are we looking at another character / plot rewrite? Because so far I cant see Z fighters taking form right now and which direction the writer(s) are taking this franchise is anyones guess

I don't know how anyone can rationally think this thing is going to get a sequel....'Last Action Hero' should get a sequel before this does

Worse movies got sequels. Freaking Resident Evil managed to produce a trilogy.

As awful as they are in terms of adapting the source material and I yearn to see a real RE movie, they all are fun exploitative B-Movie fun, I must say, I enjoy the third quite a bit:csad:
