Thats not the point Dragonball is a anime but the costumes are good and not goofy.

well put..and yet i am a massive fan of all things dragonball BUT I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO IT.. not only am i looking forward to it, but i have very few problems with the changes they have made because it is a movie and i realise that this is par for the course ala spiderman and the x-men movies. some people are bashing this movie because it is "unfaithfull", while it is very faithfull if you care to look past you grievances

The changes in Spider-Man and X-Men weren't ridiculous for one. In this movie, the changes are overwhelming. It barely resembles the anime. Look at something like Watchmen then look at this. See the difference?

One thing you gotta realize Stylish is that, in X-Men, they're costumes constantly changed, so the fact of them being all black leather in the film wasn't bad at all, in Spider-Man, there were different concepts for his costume, but in the end, they went with the original costume with an updated look. From what we have saw in DB, at least to some degree they tried, everyone's look is starting to grow onto me, so who knows, maybe, just maybe if sequels roll out, they costumes and concepts may get closer to what we saw in the anime.

Well, in the anime Piccolo's clothes minus the cape and turban was somewhat similar to Goku's gi, so I guess in this film to differentiate the hero and the villain, they felt they needed to give him a more "villainous" look.

I just have a major problem with hollywood. I think it is extremely disrespectful to take someone's work and change it so it can potentially make more money. This goes beyond DB. If they didn't think the original story was good enough, then they should actually get creative and make their own story. Complete bastardizing someone else's work is not creative.

Do you think those stories were completely bastardized the way DB was for this movie? It's also hard to compare comic book movies and movies based on mangas. Comic books have a history of having multiple writers taking stabs at certain characters or franchise. How many different people have written a Batman comic or graphic novel? So, changing something to make a movie flows with the standard of comics. Mangas on the other hand are usually done by the original creator throughout the entire history of the franchise. The last time someone took liberties with DB, we ended up with DBGT. At least Toriyama had some input on that. I can't imagine this movie being better than GT, which isn't good.

I dunno if I'm more pissed about what they did to Cyclops or Psylocke in X3.

And the more I think about it, they could have gone down the parody route with this film. Think about it, by embracing the Crouching Tiger and Superman similarities, this movie could have been hilarious. And the Android saga's bascically the Terminator on crack.
