How did it come out that he was Daredevil and why was he arrested for it? This happened before the SRA. I dont read the title, but is Daredevil considered a criminal in the eyes of the law?

The tabloids outed his identity. The FBI started an investigation, and the Kingpin manipulated them in such a manner that they got conclusive proof. Because of the flight risk he was put in jail. It has since been 'proven' he's not Daredevil and he's out of jail, the case thrown out.

And yes, Daredevil's a criminal. He's a vigilante.

And while he was in jail, his life was being manipulated by Vanessa Fisk.

Those damn Fisks....

But if you're wondering what he was actually charged for, it would be perjury and obstruction of Justice. (Being a lawyer and a Vigilante would be a very bad mix if you get caught.)

Just read Murdock Papers/Cell Block D to get your answers and one hell of a story.

It would also be assault and battery, as Daredevil has beaten people up very badly in the past, and possibly suspected murder, as a few people have ended up dead after fighting him.

That is true as well. Simply being a Vigilante isn't a crime in and of itself. The crime is what you do as a Vigilante. Beating people up, even if their rapists, drug dealers, and or murderers is still a crime. Sucks but it's true.

I was using the 'vigilante' term to show his activities are illegal. If you actually had to make a list of all the laws Matt has broken, and a record of his crimes. Well... aye carumba.

so now they dont think he's Daredevil? So the press is leaving him alone? I dont think it would be hard to prove now that they have the idea.

And what is his stance on the SRA?

Prety much. And it's been pretty much inconclusively proven via Vanessa Fisk manipulation that Matt isn't Daredevil. Of course, take one snapshot of him undressing out of the suit and voila, but that's suspension of disbelief.

We haven't seen him to react Civil War yet, I believe.

Anubis: He probably could've gotten the death penalty in some states.

Alot of people think he's Daredevil, but there's no proof. He's a bit like O.J.

He's a vigilante and it's a law that outlaws vigilanteism. What do you think?

Yeah, Q's right. People still think he's DD, but the government can't touch him because theres no proof.

Pretty much whatever happened to Matt is what would have happened to all of the other heroes pre-SHRA.

Yeah I was wondering how DD gets to be himself but he has yet to register. But if he registers, he'd be cleared of all crimes right? That's what the SHRA does right? I wonder when will the SHRA hit his comic cause they barely even mention it.......unless they did the last 2 months, that was the last time I bought a DD comic.

Well, Matt doesn't have to register because as far the courts have decided, he's not Daredevil. Tony Stark knows otherwise, and in an effort by Brubaker to get around the whole thing, Tony's deemed Matt not a top priority right now. He's content with letting Matt have Hell's Kitchen for the time being.

Yeah but.......it's not him wanting to after these guys, it's SHIELD right? Isn't that what was said in MA #1? I know he's the head of Shield but there seems to be a order of some kind. Do you remember reading it in MA when he told Ms. Marvel that?

He was talking about the New Avengers.

yeah I know. But wasn't he referring to all the unregistered heroes? Technically DD did fight on Cap's side so even though he's not a NA, he's still a outlaw.

No. He was talking about the New Avengers specifically. Not because they had anything to do with Caps side, but because most of them were there when that s**t went down in the Savage Land. You know, when they found out Shield was up to something? Something that may in fact have been involved with the break out that formed the team in the first place. Everybody that's registered, "they" can keep track of. These New Avengers on the other hand are rogue, and therefore they have an excuse to take em out, and eliminate the possibility of them doing some more digging into who was responsible for all that. Which is exactly what's going down.

Daredevil strictly speaking isn't a vigilante(and neither is any Marvel character except the Punisher)-he might catch crooks but he doesn't kill them(unlike Frank Castle!)

Terry

Vigilantes don't kill by definition. They are people who take the law in their own hands. Like Daredevil.
