will "SPIDER-MAN 3" make more then the previous two?

You dont see why?!... Because the two villains in the previous movie's were in fact humans still... UNlike X-Men where there's ALL SORTS of mutants/creatures everywhere, Spider-Man's villains has been very humane still. VENOM in Spidey-3 is a freaken MONSTER! That's something TOTTALLY different and new in the Spidey movie's, dont you see it?... This is something entirely different from the other movie's. It'll definitly draw people in to see it, wether they know the character or not.

if thats yoiur view on venom's presence in the movie, than what about the possibility that it could hurt the movies box office. Considering young children and their parents to be a large demograph for the movie than when parents see a frightening monster is now the big villain in the movie they may be reluctant to take their children to see it, losing a huge audience

No they won't.

Just like Episode III, which made more than Attack Of The Clones.

The kids want to see Venom too.

I´m not a big Venom fan, but I gotta admit, the character is popular as hell. Reaction to his appearance in the bootleg Comic Con trailer was ballistic.

not one person I have spoken to about this film knows who venom is, and rightfully so, they would have no reason to know, people now know who the GG is and who Doc Ock is because they have been shown to the masses, people know who the joker is because he has been in a number of shows/movies etc.

I dont know many comic book fans, and on top of that I don't know many people who dont' know who Venom is. I really had to think about it, and it comes down to my grandman and my grandfather's girlfriend, and my aunt. Every other memeber of my family knows who he is, and when I was in school everybody knew spider-man 1 was coming out, and everybody, everybody was saying they can't wait for a sequel with Venom. He's starting to make it up there with the Joker in terms of recognizeablity.

I don't want to step on anyone's toes, but Venom being in this film is besides the point because the people who like Venom (or obsessivly love him in some cases) would be going to watch this film anyway.
Making a short story long I think spidey 3 will be more watched than 2 but not so much as 1, Venom being in it should not make a difference because the people who like him would go and watch it anyway.

People who obsessively love Venom will enable them to see the movie twice as much. Seeing the movie more = more money.

Booya.

same here.

I think Spider-Man 3 will make a whole lot more than the first two films. The fact that there will be multiple villains is a big factor I think and fans will finally get to see Sandman and Venom done on screen; 'nuff said.

Starwars episode 3 made bad money compared to epis 1 cause epis 1 and 2 sucked and people lost hope on 3 being good. I think sm3 can break the 400mil barrier no doubt about it.

WTH? III made more than II, and I made all of its money on sheer hype.

And what the fudge is bad money? Is that like when you leave a dollar in your pants in the washing machine?

ok i know this is a "spider-man" thread, but i have to stand up for star wars and say this once:

yes, the 4th 5th and especially the 6th episode are the BEST of the star wars. episode 1 let me down, episode 2 was awesome except for anakins acting. episode 3 was great i loved it and anakin was actually good in it. except the whole love story throughout episode 1-3 it was wierd, but still good movies. NEVER knock star wars...AND NEVER EVER EVER KNOCK SPIDER-MAN!!!!

not that you have knocked spidey, but just in case you decide to ;)

I don't see how venom's appearance will attract anymore people than doc ocks or GG, to clueless movie audiences he's just another villain...it really depends on how they market him, mysterious or full out action monster

Oddly enough, I think you'll find that among casual audiences, venom is a more familiar and "cooler" character than any other spidey villain. The general gist is that he's spidey's opposite and he wants to seriously screw up spidey's life. Venom will fill seats, its a given.

Yeah, venom is more well known than Doc Ock and GG these days. Just look at the amount of merchandsie he has compared to the other 2.

These days?

Unfortunately, its been that way since the 80s.

I dont think you know what your talking about.

Many kids went to see LOTR, the HP movies, even POTC and they each had some sort of scary, monstrous figure and they were all well recieved and performed well at the BO. SM3 will be no different.
