I have been reading The Long Halloween latley (again) and I noticed that by the beginning of the comic book Dent and Gordon were already good friends and seeing how Dent will be introduced in the sequel as the new DA, will there be enough time in a span of 2 hrs to fully devevlope that friendship that will later be torn by Dent's transformation? I mean the deeper the freindship, the harder it is to see what happens to Dent!
What do you think?

The movie should focus on Bats, but I hope there's a nice TLH vibe to their relationship with each other and Bats.

Oh I agree 100%, this is Batman's triology, but I really think that the Gordon and Dent freindship should be a good one, that way when dent turns into two-face it'll be emotional not only for Gordon and Batman but also for the movie audience. Kinda like Anikan turning into Vader!

I hope the Gordon / Batman / Dent relationship is shown. It was wat made TLH so dark and thus tragic, and the best graphic novel ever written.

If you look at TLH, I think you'll see not a ton of time is dedicated to the Batman/Gordon/Dent thing. What really matters is quality screentime. One good scene could really set the tone for their whole partnership if written well enough.

I'm not saying I don't want a good amount of time devoted to the partnership, just that there doesn't need to be that much to be affective, and thusly, I wouldn't really worry too much about it getting shortchanged.

I think there will be one scene, which has dialogue between Dent and Gordon.

I hope for much, more more than one scene. We should see Gordon, Dent, and Batman together through a lot of the film, working to stop The Joker and whatever other villains there are. I expect at least one rooftop meeting between the three, and maybe a scene or two in Gordon's office working on the case. Also, perhaps a scene with just Gordon and Dent at Gordon's home (perhaps with a cameo by his young, redheaded neice?), just to establish the friendship even further. Then in the third one we could have Batman and Gordon dealing with their lost mutual friend together, and of course more interaction between the three as Gordon and Batman try to help bring Dent back to sanity.

No, I mean scene of dialogue between only Dent and Gordon, without Batman.

But I will agree with you about their scenes :)

It would be great to see the dent/gordon relationship and then including bats in that group at the begining of the movie. I would also like to see that image from TLH where bats is standing in front of the batsignal. That should be his intro in the movie.....

well . . . considering that a year is supposed to have transpired since the last film, we can assume that Dent and Gordon are already friends, and we don't have to necessarily introduce that relationship . . . the opening scene could be Dent and Gordon on the roof calling Batman just like in the comic . . . it could be assumed at that time, based on the character interaction that Dent and Gordon are buddies . . . even making reference to their wives being friends/etc.

Plus, we know that the DA bit it in the last one, so they would have ideally brought in Dent just afterwards

Yes, let's try to leave out the absolutely horribly corny "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" if possible.

Surgeon: "Mr. Dent. I'm sorry, but we were unable to fix the damage to the left side of your face."

Two-Face: "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!"

Better yet, what if Two-Face was just like: "Oh NOES!!"

ahaha.....ahaha....

but umm....I wouldn't mind there being the same amount of time invested between Batman and Dent as there was Wayne and Ras Al Ghul....and at the end...Dent turns into 2Face and there's another cliffhanger....since I don't think Ras is dead as he's apparently "immortal"...they'll run with that I think...maybe not...

I have better insight on this...but I'm a little tired lol...

They could always make it implied that they have a history.

Either with Bruce or Gordon, they could have Dent get announced as the new DA and whichever one (preferebly Bruce) could just say something along the lines of "It's been a long time Harvey."

I mean, it'd be a cheap way of doing it, but it would give people the background that they might've known each other earlier.

Harvey does not turn into Two Face until the end of 2 or the beginning of three.

Wait, so....a whole movie isn't enough time to establish a relationship?

most films do that sort of thing in 1-2 scenes.

It doesnt take much to establish that Gordon and Dent have become allies and that they rely on each other.... it will be plenty tragic when Harvey gets blasted.
