Someone on Reddit posted this pic. Funny I was thinking theother day that Seb Stan as Bucky reminded me of Michael Biehn in Terminator and Aliens.

This makes me hate Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese that much more.

Stevie: Yeah as an actor I think you really need to be careful of what films you choose. I think sometimes actors get locked into playing only certain roles.

Career management is very important.

James Cameron needs to hook him up!

James Cameron has kinda lost his stuff too actually. Avatar 2 3 4? No thanks.

A handful of actors get to pick and choose among the best scripts and directors. Most actors take what roles they're offered to eat and pay rent. It's a profession where 98% are unemployed or employed doing something else like waiting tables. It's why you have some actors who will never turn down a job because they know what it was like not to have one - case in point SLJ who's the American Michael Caine.

Talisman: Yeah but still, you cant destroy your career either. Look at Robert DeNiro, he could do anything and he picks crap like Dirty Grandpa.

You need to have some amount of taste when you pick roles. Im talking pro actors, not the ones just starting out.

I wouldn't agree he's destroyed his career exactly. He's made his bones so to speak. But while I won't presume to count DeNiro's money, I would think he would be more selective in choosing work.

DeNiro is at the age where he can't choose anything but maybe he still enjoys working and the money so he takes what he can get. Scorcese has moved on to a new muse with Leo and I don't hear of DeNiro being offered roles and turning them down because the pay isn't good enough (like Harrison Ford did for about 20 years which hurt his career)

Al Pacino has said the great work he still gets offered is on stage or TV, not in film. Numerous other actors have said the same, especially as they get older. Just look around cable and see all the stars now doing TV shows and movies who can't or can no longer get leads in the handful of quality dramatic films still being made in Hollywood.

Regardless, Stan is not anywhere near that level, so he'll work where he gets offered work.

Yeah but Dirty Grandpa and The Intern? Thats the best he can do? I dont buy it. He could do better movies than those if he really wanted to. I think he just doesnt care anymore.

Talking good choices: Seb Stan went from The Winter Soldier to The Martian. Thats a great follow up film. Its Ridley Scott.

He should keep trying to get those kinds of movies and do some nice indie films too.

You don't know that.

The Intern was well received and one of the few movies released by WB last year that made money. Dirty Grandpa - who knows maybe once the script was actually funny. Or maybe he likes Efron.

Stan's role was in The Martian was like 5 minutes of actual face time if that which is great if you're Stan but Deniro ain't taking that role even to work with Scott.

Stan also did a low budget gross out sexy comedy about gymnasts - soon to be in a theater near you.

Her previous predictions on Civil War have been spot on so far.
Bucky Barnes continues to be front and center in Civil War marketing. The conflict revolves around him, and I’ve heard that depending on how the editing shakes out, Sebastian Stan might end up with a bigger part than Chris Evans. Even if it doesn’t break that way, Stan is in a LOT of this movie. Spider-Man 3.0 is going to be a big deal because he’s one of the most recognizable superheroes on the planet, and Ant-Man is going to be a scene-stealer for sure, but Bucky Barnes is the one poised to break out. The movie is engineered to show off the Winter Soldier’s capability—he’s got a melee sequence that is *****ing unbelievable—and just how ruthless he is. Team Iron Man is a total flop in the comics, but I think the movie solved it. And he’s not wrong—Bucky Barnes is too dangerous to go unchecked.

Pulling in some gifs of Buck from the super bowl spot that were posted in the wallpaper/gif/avy thread:

Ooh, I would be TOTALLY here for this! :awesome: :woo:

I don't think Steve is blind enough to overlook how dangerous Bucky can be, especially just 1-2 years out of 70 years of brainwashing. What I think will be the point of contention is whether he can be rehabilitated. In all likelihood, Steve thinks he can, Tony thinks he can't. And it won't be just because Steve is close to Bucky - he does this all the time, like when he accepts Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch into the team and treats them no differently from the others.

I mean, just see how "friendly" death penalty arguments are to see the possible contention. :oldrazz:

But I'm really interested to see how they handle Bucky's journey back from Hydra, definitely!

Bucky looks like a total beast in this
good to see regaining his memories doesn't mean he turned soft right away

we've known for a while Bucky would have a big role
and don't worry TR, nothing there said anything about Bucky taking over as Cap, so ya don't gotta get all up in arms just yet

plus there was that rumor about[BLACKOUT] multiple death scenes being shot, including one for Bucky[/BLACKOUT] so who knows what'll happen

I was b###ing about the screen time. I'd actually prefer if Bucky got Sharon sized amounts but I can put up with a supporting role. But cutting the film so he's the lead? I wouldn't pay $15 to watch a Bucky Barnes movie. It would be worse than having to be pay for two hours of just Clint on the farm.

As for who dies - there's a new one on the rumor mill via "sources" which brings the count up to 4 or 5.

oh so you're not just a Bucky-as-Cap hater, you're a Bucky hater-at-large??
well that's just silly :oldrazz:

I liked Bucky and am iffy on WS/Bucky but he has his place as garnish or maybe a side dish. That doesn't mean I want him as the main course in my Captain America movie. :o

that's how many people felt about Cap for, like, the whole 80's and 90's

Out of al the shots. That sot with Bucky all hooked up is the most intruiging. Probably a Flashback.
