There's something about the characters of DC outside Batman's that feels weird to me. I hate almost every DC character design, it looks like they try too hard to look imaginative and unique to the point it looks unimaginative, pale and fake. There's no charm or coolness. The characters of Marvel look alive and breathing, personal, unique and cool (even the "ugly" ones such as M.O.D.O.K.) whereas the characters of DC look dead and very much like something anyone unprofessional would design.

To make it short, they look very much like stereotypical, unpersonal heroes and villains.

Not only that but there's something about the characters themselves that feels fake as well and I've never been drawn to any of them except for Batman and his world as I said. The characters of Marvel have almost everyone something to love about and feel drawn to.

All this is just my opinion of course, not trying to state it as fact.

I love all the Treks. I find VOY and ENT to be vastly underrated.

Awesome! I'm actually just watching Voyager right now, currently in the middle of season 2. I hear that Enterprise only gets better with every season, and that they start to tie things together with TOS (like the Klingon ridges) and such. I can't wait to see that.

Batman is easily the most relatable DC character as far as I know, but even still, I don't think he is that relatable. He is a billionaire who travels to Asia and gets trained as a ninja. He comes back to his huge company, practically owns Gotham city, and buys a bunch of gadgets to go with his costume. Not to mention he uses his detective skills to find clues about crimes committed by his enemies. He has no powers, which is probably what makes him relatable at all IMO.

You can relate to Spider-Man because of Peter Parker, and the fact that he is the "everyman." You can relate to the mutants in X-Men because of how they have been discriminated against just for being different. We relate to the Hulk because of his dark side, the "Dr. Jekyll, Mr. Hyde" aspect to the Bruce Banner character. Captain America is a man who feels out of place, and many people out there feel the same.

With Batman, I feel like other than the fact that he is human, there isn't anything to really relate to.

Superman is the archetype for all superheroes, so I think he can get away with it, considering he is the first. I have a great deal of respect for the character, but I just never really found him that interesting. He is too perfect.

How come I'm the only one to see Superman relatable?
He did go to school, go to college, have some secrets he can't share, can do some stuff embarrassing annoying people and make their pranks turn against them

Nothing? He had the typical Parker luck with being his love rival before Parker was invented

You guys should read some of the Golden Age and Silver Age Superman comics, dude is so awesome he doesn't need to be relatable, but he was made relatable after that

Check most of the Golden Age and Silver Age series, both Action and Superman
Of course there's silliness of that era, but it's what made Superman a great superhero, he's out as a teacher before being a superhero, and man is he a kickarse character in that

No powers and the agony of having his parents killed in front of him(not that most of us experience that but most can relate to agony)

No powers thingy is a strong relating point since practically every superhero has powers

But Spidey without doubt is the most relatable superhero

But that's the point I was trying to make. The fact that he has no powers is really what makes him somewhat relatable. His parents shot in front of him giving him agony does add to his character being relatable, but only to an extent. What characters haven't gone through some sort of suffering?

There's a story of Superman from Action Comics when it was weekly, 601-642, last few chapters (2 page spread each chapter) had Superman talking about migrations and him being one

But not even really just immigrants. Someone who just doesn't feel like they belong can relate as well, as much as someone can relate to Peter in TAS-M who's a loner or outcast.

Superman came to Earth as a small child, and was raised by two humans since then. He looks and acts human, only he has super powers. I don't see him as an outcast at all. He pretends to be a socially awkward outcast in his life as Clark Kent.

Peter Parker looks and acts like a human...why was he an outcast in TAS-M?

My point being....Clark can be as much of an outcast as Peter Parker, just different rules in society. Peter is bullied, but Clark just doesn't feel like he belongs and he knows he's not "normal" enough.
