Watched the last 10 or so minutes of The Simpsons movie today. I've seen the movie, but I hadn't seen the ending. There's still some parts I know I missed. Funny movie. By the way, does anyone else think Spider-Pig and Spider-Ham are related?

I always thought they were the same person.

Nope. They are not related. They are mortal enemies. Spider-Ham despises Spider-Pig for ripping him off yet being more popular.

Batman: AC is godlike. It might be my favorite superhero game. I liked AA, but I though that Spidey 2 and MUA were better, but AC might be better than them. Ill decide, once I beat it.

Batman: Arkham City is my favorite superhero game, topping its predecessor, Batman: Arkham Asylum. Spider-Man 2: The Game can't compete with either one, and I didn't play Marvel: Ultimate Alliance.

I am going to a party right now...just want to say Happy new year! Guys........ remember that 2012 will be OUR year.

:awesome:

I like Spider-Man 2 simply because it was waaaay more replayble than AA. I've never had the urge to come back to AA, I liked it but not enough to replay it. I might eventually though.

AA and AC > Spider-Man 2 the game.

And that's just based on the storyline alone.

Batman: Arkham Asylum was far superior to Spider-Man 2: The Game.
Take the combat systems for example:
In Batman: Arkham Asylum, combat is fun and deep, making it a joy to play.
In Spider-Man 2: The Game, combat is an exercise in monotonous button mashing, a chore. The combat system had potential, but it wasn't capitalized on.

Agreed.

Happy new year all...

I'm going to wage in on the Batman AA/AC -Spiderman 2 argument. Both a different types of games. But yes, effort that went into batman is far superior to the spidey game. BUT, the fact that the spidey game lets you swing like spidey, makes you feel like spidey, put the game of level with the batmoan games IMO.

And considereing that spidey 2 was a movie tie in game wanting to cash in on the film, that's an achievement.

Overall, Batman is the superior game, but the swinging mechanics in the spidey game is what keeps me coming back over and over again for spiderman 2

Well, I stayed up all night. I wonder how long I'll last through today though.

I still replay it, I enjoy it so much I had to have one on PC as well (completed it 3 times on PS3)

SM2 has a more fun story compared to BAA imo, and I enjoy gameplay there more

Arkham City is the best comic books and superhero games in general, it's great, and much much better than its predecessor

Combat is what you make of it. It doesn't have to be 'button mashing' unless you want it to be that way. Stringing together combos is how I like to play games instead of continually hitting the square button or whatever it is on XBox. And that goes for AC too...I have seen several videos on youtube where people are just button mashing the combat and it looks really stupid.

That being said, I am tired of the comparisons between SM2 and Arkham games. It's silly. SM2 is how many years old? Seven? Eight? It is very outdated. Both games are true to the characters but Arkham is all original story while SM2 is obviously drawn directly from the movie, with side stuff thrown in there. Hopefully the Amazing Spider-man game comes through with bright shining colors and then we can have a discussion about comparing it to Arkham.

The new cartoon is coming out. Though I'm not especially excited for that.

Heh, forgot about that one

I got really excited two days ago to find that one of my relatives residing out of the country is as huge a comic fan as I am

Also, this year is Spidey's 50th anniversary.

That's cool. I wish I had a relative who was as excited about all this stuff as I am.

Forgot about the 50th anniversary as well, and I was looking forward to it

I can't wait for all the special 50th anniversary stuff. I wonder what Marvel has planned.

Edit: Curmudgeon and AZ already said that before me
I can agree with anyone who thinks that way and not getting excited about the new cartoon, in particular seeing it dances over the ashes of TSSM animated
