The Amazing Spider-Man With Great Power, Comes Great Lounging - Part 3

So a few weeks ago I saw Twilight and liked it and now I'm having a really hard time deciding whether or not to see the movies first or read the books first. On one hand, it's been years since I've read something other than mangas or a Spider-Man book. I lost interest in reading after middle school since it just felt like unneccesary work at that time and there was nothing I really wanted to read. And they closed the library where I live years ago. On the other hand, the movies might not be as much fun if I read the books first. Also, the books are really long, so even if I read like 100 pages a day, it would still be like a week before I finsihed one book, and that's more time than I'm willing to spend. I think I would prefer to see the movies and I've been thinking about buying them and taking them on vacation, [assuming we go on one], but it would only be a 5 and a half hour drive if we do go, and that doesn't leave much time for the other stuff I want to watch. If only it was an eight hour drive or better yet, a 13 hour one. I could just watch them at home, but everything is more fun on vacation. So what do you think I should do?

Don't watch Twilight anymore :rimshot: But seriously, go for the Spider-Man essential collections if you want that route. But I'm a guy who is going into a career in film, but I say treat them as two different things. Because they are, one is a medium based on the book, the other... is a book! Just see it as two different things.

I look like a pedophile with just a moustache. It just doesn't look natural on me. If I grew a full-on Jeff Bridges beard, then I'd warm up to facial hair more.
Grew out my facial hair for no shave november and towards the end it just looked nappy and unkempt...so I shaved all but the mustache and looked like a pedophile as well :woot:
Only had it for a few hours, but it was a fun few hours indeed..

haha. At first, it was just a "pass the time" movie and while I enjoyed it, I didn't want to buy it, but at the same time, I wanted to know what happens next. After awhile, it was [almost] all I could think about. I honestly think it's the best movie I've seen since the Spider-Man movies.

The book is more detailed than the movies, so it'd still be fun even if I saw the movies first, but then I'd already know what happens. Well actually, I already do know what happens [sort of] because the Breaking Dawn trailer showed them getting married, but seeing how it happens is the fun part. Either way, it'd still be fun, but deciding what to do first is the hard part. I don't want the essentials because they're not in color, so I'm not getting them. Well, not until I buy all of the Marvel Masterworks.

Don't understand the tweak with my quote, but hey, books have more detail only because you can't see the vision. Film has an incredible amount of detail in its own way. But I do know what you mean.

Well, this, for one :woot:

I was so close to buying this a few weeks ago, but I decided not to.

Come Xmas morning, tell me if I made a bad decision.

Haha first thing after I finish the book I'll come back here and let you know :woot:

I went to my bathtub just right after reading the post that JSM vs Wacker made. Also I decided to pick up a comic book so that I can read something in my bathtub. I randomly found my Spidey trade-paper Until the star turns cold ( of course it written by JSM) in my bathroom drawer lol.

Have you guys heard about it?? It makes me so mad. :(

Yeah it was a pretty classless move on JMS's part, but Stephen Wacker has consistently proven he has the maturity of a 12 year old and flat out should not have the internet. Seriously, he's the editor on the ASM book and he spends half his time on the internet bickering with fans.
So basically JMS did something pretty low, but Wacker swooped in and lowered the bar, as he's known to do.
