aren't you worried that Davooit Goyer has hardly any say or has no where near the creative involvement he had on the original Batman Begins than with Dark Night? I mean Jonah Nolan and Chris Nolan are the only two really working on the script with some "story input" despite teh fact that Goyer had such a kick ass original script.

I'm really getting worried that with the Prestige getting alot of crap reviews, I feel the Dark Knight will be no where near as good or may even be as big a pile of crap as the Prestige is.

The Prestige isn't getting crap reviews.

The thread starter's incorrect. The Prestige got a lot of negative early reviews, but since then, they've become dramatically more positive...

73% good certainly isn't Memento-level great, but it's certainly nothing to complain about.

And David Goyer has had quite a lot of input on the script and he even said that he will go back and work on it.

Worried about Nolan's crap reviews? (real or not) I don't see how having more Goyer would help you feel better.

"Nice coat," Blade Trinity, anyone?

That's right. Him not being that involved in DK is probably a good thing. He's a consultant only, isn't he? what Jonah was for Begins if I'm not mistaken.

Maybe because Goyer was an integral part in BB's conception and (very possibly) it's quality?

Yeah, but Nolan and his brother won an Oscar, so I'm not worried about the change. And as was pointed out, Goyer is still involved somewhat.

im going to wait until i see it for myself until i give *any* review any credence.

as for goyer, i think he was a huge influence on begins, and the more input we get from him, the better.

But apparently Jonah Nolan's scriptwriting abilities haven't really been tested until The Prestige (although, admittedly, who exactly wrote the Memento script is sorta a foggy issue).

If The Prestige was getting bad reviews (which it isn't), I might be worried about Jonah's ability to perfect a TDK script.

However, that's all a moot point now, so yay.

NY Daily News said to take your chances with The Prestige. :(
They complain that the final act is farfetched and doesn't deliver well.

Shouldn't people expect "farfetched" in a movie about magicians?

yeah , well we all know how strange movie critics are:whatever:

I just got back from seeing it ... and it's sooo good. a lot of things you find out in the end make you go back and question things in the very beginning.

I loved it. LOVED. IT.

I just got back from the theater and I loved The Prestige. Great acting, great atmosphere, and an ending that makes you either go "what the ****?" or "HOLY ****!".

Bottom line?
Batman kicked Wolverines ass.
:woot: :yay: :ninja: :cwink:

Batman Begins got a few crap reviews, too. Most movies do. Becuase not everybody likes the same stuff, and it doesn't take good taste to be a movie critic. All you have to be is a jaded, failed author who gets his or her jollies by pooping on other people's successes.

I am so cancelling my subscription.

I think that Goyer should only be around to maintain the comic roots that keep these Batman movies true(er) to the comics. Like how he said that he had to fight to keep the grappel hook and Scarecrow mask in the movie. Apparently Nolan didn't want that because he felt it to be "too comic booky". I think that was written in the Premiere magazine from when Begins came out.

You cant please everybody and same with Nolan no matter how super he is not perfect. His style will not fit the tastes of others.

Just like every good actor and actress there are certain roles that you cant believe how crappy they can get. That happens to many Oscar winners.
