I'd love to see Batman in a black and grey cloth costume inspecting a crime scene with a flash light. How about swinging rooftop to rooftop with rope?

Could be a nice contrast to villians like Clayface or Mr.Freeze.

Maybe if you did a Batman movie based in the 40's. Which, although it would never happen, i would love to see.

what?

It's reasonable for Batman to go low-tech because Lucius is gone.

okay a flash light that shoots frickin laser beams!

really what's so wrong with a Batman who's best gadget is his brain.

I like to see him going to the basics a help from modern technogoly woouldn't go a miss.

Lucious will be back. I´m a man of my word.

Really Batman shouldn't need a tech guy.

What if Lucius where to die, would Bruce quit crime fighting?

Fox just doesn't help with tech only, he helps out day to day at WE when Bruce is busy with crime fighting Fox is in charge.

Yes,Bruce relied too much on Fox but I hope that they fix that in the next movie.

Well one the one hand you cant expect Bruce and Alfred building the cave, batmobile, plane and gadgets all by themselves and on the other you cant have Batman relying too much on Fox. But Batman did design the cowl, make the batarangs and set up the sonar device.
Besides, even in BTAS, batman has a special mechanic working in an underground bunker building his vehicles.

I don't understand while everyone thinks Lucius is gone. He said as long as that technology is present, he will never come back to Wayne Enterprises. Bruce knew he would be that way, that's why he made the password to destroy it Lucius's name. When Lucius destroyed it, he smiled. He will be back.

And to answer the question, I like the high-tech stuff. But I also like Batman coming up with some of it on his own too.

Fox is not necessary. He's a smart, trusted confidant who gave Bruce access to stuff he already owned. He runs the day to day operations of the company, but are you forgetting that Bruce is an engineering genius himself? If the stuff was not already sitting there he would have made it himself.

100% accurate. Who in their right mind thinks Fox isnt coming back, and what on earth gives you that idea?

The way I saw it - Fox said if the machine was there, he wont be. At the end Fox entered the password, which blew up the machine, which meant the machine was no longer there. Fox smiled as he left the room in the knowledge Bruce realised that Fox wouldnt agree with the idea but they BOTH obviously felt it was neccessary just this once in order to take down the joker, with Fox agreeing to help 'this one time' but Bruce can consider it his resignation if the machine stayed.

Damn, nearly got through the thread without seeing this explanation, you beat me to it.

It's because most people don't get subtly, they didn't read what his smile at the machine blowing up meant. I think they needed a scene back in the office with Fox in a meeting or something of the sort that's just as obvious.

Exactly and in TDK Lucius smile was very obvious.

if Batman's next villain uses technology and advanced weaponry against Batman then I would condone the use of advanced technology to fight against the villain. But, if it's a simple game of cat and mouse and/or just a battle of brute strength I say stick to the basics.

Bruce became more self-reliant in TDK compared to BB and I expect that trend to continue in the next film. That doesn't mean he won't need Lucius, he is a very valuable ally, but with the setup of Batman being deemed a criminal it's likely that their relationship could be weakened -- even though he still is at Wayne Enterprises.

Batman needs technology, imagine The Dark Knight without a Batpod or sonar vision. :(

I don't think their relationship will be weakened since Lucius is the one who most likely told him where to find Harvey and Gordon in the first place. :cwink:

Where is it written that Lucious will not be back. He will still be there

Batman has never been "low tech" except maybe in Miller's Year one script where he beats thugs with a baseball bat.
