BTAS took place in the 1940s?...I thought in the 1990s, but had a 1940s atmosphere?....Or timeless like Burton's movies?.

The original series was partially inspired by the Frank Miller comic Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, the Tim Burton films Batman and Batman Returns and the acclaimed Superman cartoons produced by Fleischer Studios in the 1940s. Timm and Radomski designed the series by closely emulating the Tim Burton films' "otherworldly timelessness," incorporating period features such as black-and-white title cards, police blimps, 40s influenced fashion, 40s influenced car styling and a "vintage" color scheme in a largely film noir-influenced style.[1] The series initially took a variation of music written by Danny Elfman for the Burton films Batman and Batman Returns as its theme; later episodes of the series used a new theme with a similar style by Shirley Walker (who was occasionally Elfman's conductor on the films they worked on). The score of the series was influenced by Elfman and Walker's work on Batman and Batman Returns and the music of 40s film noir.

Yeah, i dont think it was in the 40ies. It just had that timeless noir feeling to it.

This topic confuses me some....is it that you don't like Freeman/Fox? I like having the young Batman have help...it adds to the realism that Nolan goes for in his adaptation of Batman. Its not really plausible to have Bruce be Batman, design and build all his own gadgets...and still keep up the appearance of Bruce Wayne Billionaire Playboy. He needs help and it wasn't like Fox was telling him what to do or use, he advised him and aided.

There's nothing wrong with using Fox. The only danger is that he's used for every little thing. I remember alot of people compared Fox to Q out of the James Bond movies after Begins came out.

yeah. that said, it doesn't bother me one inch. morgan freeman is a brilliant actor. i say if you've got talent like that, use them.

With Batman on the run, I can see Bruce not wanting to endanger Fox by trying to involve him (and Wayne Enterprises) less, but still going to him for help in some form.

Fox is already involved.

It's a bit late for that.

Well, being that Fox's only condition to not working at Wayne Enterprises was as long as the radar screen was operational, Fox would not work at WE; however, because the radar screen was destroyed when Fox typed in his name, Fox will still be employed by WE. I think that the scenario is illusory because Fox's conduct and the destruction of the screen indicate that Fox's use of the screen was only temporary and now he can continue on in his role in Wayne Enterprises; thus continuing to give Bruce new gadgets and protecting his identity. Therefore, I think the destruction of the screen indicated that Morgan Freeman will be back reprising his role as Fox.

...yeah.

Thanks.

Lucius Fox should stay as working in Wayne Enterprises but Batman should rely less on him.
Exactly what happened in TDK. I would assume the sequel will follow suit, and probably go further with it.

Oh god, i meant the 40ies but for some reason i wrote 90ies.
Anyway, i meant that i think that it takes place in our time, but it just has that timeless design.

Rather it just took place in the 1940s and have a noir feeling only no timeless stuff....Timeless is great but rather they did the period piece...Gotham City looked like the 1940s in everything, thats the years the show should of taken place in not timeless stuff.

I don't like the idea of Batman continually having to turn for help to one of his employees for gadgetry, suit refinements, weaponry and etc... but just the same, I am more than happy to have Morgan Freeman in these movies. He's such an enjoyable actor to watch, and the Fox character does not detract from my enjoyment of these films one bit. I hope he returns, and I'm fairly certain he will.
