I cast level 5 sadness on this thread.
Last call...
There is really no need to bump an old debate thread about fictional wizards.

Word.
The only thing Gandalf would do to Dumbledore is scream at him, then shine a really bright light at him. Lame:
BAM! True that.Throughout the whole series, from the Hobbit to the Return of the King, Gandalf does very little magic. What magic he does do is very minor or not described. One Avada Kedavra and it's over.
and he was far cooler on the books than the movies, while Gandalf was far cooler on the movies than on the booksI sooo wrote this fight on my site a couple of years ago, if you can read spanish: http://www.resca.com.ar/spot/hist1.htm
And I voted for Dumbledore because I cried a lot when he died and when Gandalf died I knew he'd be back. And yes I know it's not a popularity contest but I just like Albus a bit moreand he was far cooler on the books than the movies, while Gandalf was far cooler on the movies than on the books

And it's true what someone posted and I hadn't read before, Gandalf does very little magic on the books, almost none whatsoever, while Albus' duel with Voldemort is just too amazing, or when he single-handedly defeated the Death Eaters after Sirius' death and confined them. Dumbledore wins, but I doubt he'd use Avada Kedavra.
Well this is a magic fight, not a debate, and all the sense in the world ain't gonna do squat when all you can do is turn a proverbial flashlight on an off, crack a thinning outcrop and make your sword glow.
