I liked the twist aspect we didn't get with the original story. Its no secret now who the other wolf is. But i think it brings a more twist to where a son and father did not know each other but in a way the curse brings them togther.
Got a question for those who has seen it. Does Hopkins have control of his Wolf or is it something he like most cannot control.

It is to some people. How about using spoiler tags?

I would have been pissed at you if a review hadn't already spoiler it.

I still want to see this but it is getting horrible reivews:( I hope that the reason is that critics are use to lame horror movies from recent years and that this harkens back to classic horror with a little new thrown in.

It's getting SOME horrible reviews.

Don't be melodramatic.

AintItCool was stellar, Roger Ebert liked it a lot, sprinkled with good reviews here and there a few bad reviews from people who missed the point entirely. Coupled with all the fan reactions being overwhelmingly positive.

See it for yourself and decide for yourself. Don't let someone else think for you.

And like was said elsewhere. Critics hated the original Wolfman and American Werewolf in London.

Shows how much some critics know.

My sister seen it and told me not to watch it or even rent it

I was preaching that a few pages ago. See the movie and make up your opinion of it or quit whining about how you wont see it because your sister's cousin's best friend's roommate's ex-boyfriend's uncle told you it sucked.

Speaking of Ebert's review though: That man never ceases to baffle me. He seemed to enjoy it very much, only having problems with some of the CGI. So why the hell did he give it 2 1/5 stars?

*shrugs*

I think he uses an out of 4 system. So 2.5 out of 4 is pretty good.

Yea, it is pretty good. But with the way he said he enjoyed the film, you'd of thought he'd give it a 3. His review seemed to scream "Boy, what a damn fine film!"

Sometimes the man baffles me.

Has anybody heard anything about an Art of The Wolfman movie book? I desperately want one.

Yep. I get what you mean.

Oh well. I'll take a weird rating with a great review over the opposite.

I haven 't seen it i just heard it hear and on some reviews. But common sense told you he likely was anyways

Why are you listening to critics so much? Are you afraid to see a movie you will actually like? I mean is it some known law a movie must be critically like for you to like it?

Like I said before and I'll keep saying people put way entirely too much damn faith in critics!

i dont care if its not great... anythings better than percy jackson

unfortunatly everyone wants to see percy over wolfman tonight so ill have to suffer through uma thurman humiliating herself like in B&R...

I'm sure Valentines Day will beat out both of them.

I saw this last night at a special screening and it's a fantastic film. All the actors give great performances especially Bencio and Emily. Sir Anthony Hopkins gives his usual greatness and it's pretty sweet to see Hugo Weaving play a good guy for once. All the wolf scenes are absolutely fantastic and they can get quite gory. All in all I give a 9 outta 10.

I actually have the original wolfman movie on dvd. It is part of this wolf man collection.

This remake doesn't seem to be getting that great reviews, I may just watch the original film this weekend instead.

Okay, first of all, this post jumps around a lot. It's hard for me to keep up.

Second of all, which one is it? Is it creepy and freaky or is it laughably bad? Make up your mind.

It's creepy and freaky for parts of the first half hour. Then the main character painfully contorts into a humanoid scottish terrier and the movie turns silly.

And that first part of this post, where the fact that this is an homage to the original gets sledgehammered into your face. How so? Does somebody come right out and say "Hey! Remember this from the Lon Chaney Jr. movie!?"
No.

The homage is blatantly obvious. I knew nothing about it beforehand, but still the 'resemblance' was obvious. To be honest I wouldn't bother slinging the term "homage" around seeing as it's more of a "copy".

And I don't even know what that "teen wolf Del Toro" bit is supposed to mean. It doesn't make any sense.

Wow, really?

Fang Face? You deny it but you obviously held it against the movie that it was a remake of the Wolf Man not just another quadruped type werewolf.

That was random.

No, I'm fine with a remake. Why would I want a quadruped? The title says it up front: "Wolfman".

Have you even seen the original? If you have I have a damn good feeling you didn't appreciate even that one. Or maybe because the face wasn't entirely done in CGI for the entire film.

I've seen the original. Your damn good feeling is incorrect as is the straw man argument about CGI.

Correction: It's not something you know, it's something you believe.

Believe what you like though. The average that has emerged with the RT reviews is right on the money IMO. The Wolfman is just not clicking with many, many people.
