And I hated the damn ****ing generic music towards hte end of the trailer. It just cheapens the mood for me. You could of used the music in the CC trailer.
Nearly every trailer uses it now. Why? I don't know. Like you said, it cheapens the mood and makes the trailer feel generic.

well yeah i understand that.
but for this case the werewolf story has been told a million times over since the original Wolfman movie.
Same goes if they would make a Nosferatu movie lol... they cant make it as basic as the original. Im not saying to hollywoodize it but make it seem new in a way like what tim burton did to the sleepy hollow legend.

Really? I love Tim's Sleepy Hollow, but i was actually a bit disappointed he DIDN'T do a closer adpation to the original legend.

To each his own, i guess.

Just checked out the trailer. Has a very old school filmmaking vibe to it. I'm really digging it. Way better then Avatar's trailer.

The first half is the best. The atmosphere and the ominous nature of it, and that low key score is fantastic. Then the second half while cool with the money shots turns into the generic trailer. But I won't blame the film for that. I'll be seeing this.

And it was better than the Avatar trailer. Though that was a teaser.

I like the trailer, but Del Toro didnt look like he was really trying. i was very surprised.

i still want to see this but, i am still mad about the date change. the transformations are probably still good, but i don't know, i've lost interest somewhat

Looking forward to the red band trailer and hopefully has the feel of the CC one more.

The footage looks beautiful, but otherwise this looks pretty average, except for Hopkins, who is doing an interesting turn here, and of course the transformation, which looks fantastic, and incredibly painful, what we can see of it.

A bit surprised to see that Inspector Frederick Abberline, the man who was involved in the Jack The Ripper investigations, is a character in the movie. That will be interesting.

It looks good but the fact that they moved it's release date two times and had massive reshoots points to it not being a good flick.

So I'm not putting any hopes into it.

What did you think about the Avatar trailer?

What did you think about the Avatar trailer?
I liked it well enough, the visuals and story look interesting. The CGI doesn't look groundbreaking at all so JC and crew lied about that but I still dug it. Is Wolfman's trailer better that Avatars? Yeah but I still think that Avatar will be better.

It might have Octoberist, it might have.

I have watched this trailer obsessively today.

Stopping it and watching it frame by frame, over and over like a mad man studying every little intricate detail.

There is a tremendous amount of work that has gone into this movie. And it shows, because it looks outstanding. The wait is proving to be worth it.

To begin....

It definitely honors and respects the classic and yet still gives us a new and original feel to the Wolf Man character. Yes, the character is simple and the story predictable, we can't avoid that, but I am glad because that's part of honoring the classic.

The cast, costumes and setting look top-notch. The SFX spot on. The camera work perfect.

Benicio Del Toro looks like a great mix between Lon Chaney Jr. and Oliver Reed from "Curse of the Werewolf" (Amazing werewolf movie, btw)
And the Wolf Man himself actually looks a little like the Oliver Reed werewolf as well.

There is really nothing bad about this trailer, it's pretty damn perfect. I'm not talking about the music though, which is generic trailer music.

The Wolf Man is absolutely epic in this. He is almost like a superhero....jumping from roof to roof, throwing people incredible distances etc.
That's just what I wanted to see. An outrageous, fast, vicious Super Beast Man.
Running around in torn clothes growling, crouching and leaping etc.
And they are not afraid to show him, like they always are with monster movies...keeping the creature in the shadows. Here we get him full on and he looks beautiful.

The period setting is wonderful, with all its eerie smokey gloominess.

I love love love seeing Hugo Weaving in this movie, especially him being Inspector Abberline. That is such a great new addition to this story. What a cool freakin' idea.
There is such a presence and power to that guy and I am so happy to see him in this movie.

Hopkins looks great as usual, as if he was born to be in period films, he is such a natural fit.
He is clearly coming off as the villain in this movie. Which is fine with me. I always felt that in the original classic Wolf Man it would have been cool had Claude Rains turned into a werewolf and fought his son. I hope that's what is going to happen here as it does in Andrew Kevin Walker's script.

Emily Blunt looks and sounds perfect. She is playing the role with conviction and that is nice to see in a werewolf movie. She doesn't come off as a weak actor.

I think director Joe Johnston has totally stepped up to the plate and knocked it out of the ballpark with this one. I feel he really worked hard to deliver us something new and exciting and yet totally respected the source material. He is going to do a great job with Captain America.

It's just my opinion, but I feel we are going to get the greatest werewolf movie of all time. This is it, friends. I think we got the ultimate werewolf movie in our sights.

I love every second of this trailer....it serious, dramatic, creepy, vicious and extreme WOLF MAN action. That final shot of him leaping onto the gargoyle and howling is absolutely epic.

Finally....

aaaaaAAAWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

I hope we one day get a new Frankenstein meets the Wolf Man movie. I would love to see those characters clash again.

Well I'm a huge fan of the original. I think it has one of the best casts of a horror movie ever. Lon Chaney Jr. gives an iconic and immediately sympathetic and tragic turn and Claud Raines as Sir John continued to prove he was the best character actor of his generation. The woman who played Maleeva was also iconic in that film.

It is just such a short bit of Greek Tragedy told so poignantly complete with Pierce's amazing make-up.

...So I'm always a bit skeptical of remakes of movies I love. But the comic con footage was great.

This trailer is interesting. It is a more sanitized version of what we saw at comic con which was more thrilling. But I still very much like the look of this movie. I hope the ending that was in the first draft of the screenplay for this was changed as it ruins a great character, but visually it looks to be a classic horror movie in a good way and may have the best werewolf make up in a movie...ever. Hopkins looks terrific. But the part that looks the most interesting to me is the part that strays the most from the original (of what we've thus far seen). Larry being sent to a mental asylum in London and being beaten and tortured in turn of the century psychiatric practices.

Really, this movie in tone and visual is obviously an October/November movie. For it to be moved to February still worries me and feels like a lost opportunity.

It has a very Hammer look and feel. If the acting is good-and I think it will be-then it will deliver.

I hope today's audiences support a more classic Gothic horror film. It's my favorite style.

I noticed that in the beginning where the dude with the lantern looks like he gets stabbed. In the CC footage it looks like he sees it an runs away. One of the things I'm worried about. God, you don't know how worried I am about these reshoots. If the movie isn't as good as we hoped, the reshoots could be the case. i just hope it doens't have too much action. I wish they mixed bits with the CC trailer which had a very creepy and scary atmosephere and osme stuff in this trailer. I also wish they just left Hopkins saying, "You've done terrible things..." which was spot on in the CC trailer. Here it's off with the add on line.

And I hated the damn ****ing generic music towards the end of the trailer. It just cheapens the mood for me. You could of used the music in the CC trailer.

You're making a big fuss for nothing. Over-reaction, indeed.

Watch the comic con trailer again. It shows the guy lift his lantern, getting gutted and his reaction to it and ends with him making an attempt to stumble away. The official trailer cuts off with his reaction to him getting gutted.

From the WHOLE trailer, i think the viewer is supposed to get the idea that Hopkins is rather unhinged. "Terrible things...You've done terrible things" shows that clearly. And i love it. You're complaint seems like a nit-pick. Also, it's probably a different take. They do that with trailers all the time.

The CC music probably wasn't long enough to re-use. The music used in this one was fine. I'm not concerned with temporary filler music in a trailer for a film that's still being filmed and neither should you. Pay attention to the footage at hand.

This is gonna be great, rated R or PG-13.

I love that addition. The original merely has side-characters going "It's all in your mind!" whereas in this, you have Larry sent to a mental asylum where the doctors say "It's all in your mind!...and we're going to get it out!" I love how they expanded the psychological aspects to such an extreme like that.
