I bought the second one. It just screams classic and it will look wonderful on my wall. I think this one makes it my 15th Mondo poster.

Really digging the score. As i said in another post, it reminds me of Wojciech Kilar's score for Coppola's Dracula and John Williams' score from John Badham's Dracula...kinda weird how Dracula-ish it is, lol.

Not sure how I feel about it yet. Right now, I'm okay with it, just not excited.
It will probably grow on me though.

Does anyone have a problem with Rock Music in the second theatrical trailer and do people mind rock music in movie trailers or prefer score like music. I say whatever works that makes a person get into the trailer.

Normally I would say that rock music and Victorian times don't mesh well but it's just a trailer so I don't care.

Totally have been waiting for this forever. So excited and very surreal that it's finally here.

Only 6 more days!

Love your enthusiasm, brother. I love it because I feel the exact same way.
It is unreal that we are getting this movie.

Not long now...

Cheers!

Can't friggin' wait!! From the moment I went into the Wolfman themed haunt at Halloween Horror Nights I have been eagerly anticipating this.

I'm really looking forward to it. This week I'll probably be thinking about this. But I'm still going in with low expectations. All I ask for is a passable horror remake. It doesn't have to be high art or a horror classic, as long as it's solid.

as someone has said before in this thread, it doesn't have to be that amazing to be one of the best werewolf movies ever. ever since i read walkers original draft i've been so stoked for this movie, i can't wait. the period setting and the fact that it's rated R are two of my biggest points of interest, add to that the excellent cast and the flawless Rick Baker makeup and my excitement levels almost double. friday's a holiday from school for me so i'm sure i'll be seeing this multiple times that day.

We are witnessing a marriage between the old-school monster make-up classic to the modern age sfx/action filming capability.
When I was a kid, I drew my own Wolfman comic. I had drawn the Lon Chaney Jr. Wolfman running and jumping from roof to roof. The character was so amazing in my imagination that I couldn't help but picture him doing incredible superhuman feats. If George Waggner (the director of the original 1941 classic) would have had the technology and filming capabilities then, as film makers do today, he would have made the Lon Chaney Jr. Wolfman leap from roof to roof. He would have made The Wolfman have an incredible fight with that bear (which he unfortunately had to cut from the film).
Now, for me, that imagination, that vision, that was so exciting to me as a child is coming true on the big screen. And what's so exceptionally awesome about it all, is that it isn't the man with the "wolf" head running only on all fours but a good old fashioned "Wolf MAN"
And it's rated R for serious bloody violent wolfman action.
And a Wolfman leaping from roof to roof! :)

We're in for a rare cinematic treat my friends!

Wait, people read the Walker draft? Damn, I didn't even know you could access it.

How is it though? Based on the commercials, how accurate is it?

we're parking our cars in the same garage on this one, my friend. when i first saw Curse of the Werewolf with Oliver Reed, the climax with the villagers chasing the werewolf as he scrambles across the rooftops really captured my imagination and solidified the concept of a werewolf in my mind. reading the descriptions of the wolfman traversing the London rooftops in Walker's script and seeing the clip of it last week was like a fulfillment of the werewolf movie i've always wanted to see.

to change topics a bit, has anyone heard any inklings of whether or not the zoo sequence in the script is still in the movie?
the scene where the wolfman fights and kills the crocodile sounded awesome in the script

I do recall saying how awesome it would be if they filmed the Wolfman fighting a bear in the new movie. But I swear that in a clip or a trailer, there's a snippet of The Wolf Man fighting a bear and for the life of me, i can't find it.

Sounds interesting. It will just be disheartening if the theatrical cut isn't so good and the director's cut makes it awesome.

Well, the movie cut is 2 hours long. And if only 17 minutes of new footage will be added to the Director's Cut DVD, then I'd imagine most of all the original footage will be included in the movie cut, and it will remain almost completely unchanged.

It'll be interesting to judge the film then. I bet Johnston was the one who wanted more devlopment scenes in the first act. I'm looking forward to it.

He's impressing me a lot with his respect to this film.

What really amazed me was when he said that when he came onto the movie, he rewrote some stuff, cut out excessive gore, and made all the other gore and violence integral to the story.

Which is ****ing awesome.

I bought and watched the Original Wolf man today and I liked it, so I can't wait to see this one.

Where is the interview? When I clicked on that link above it said come back soon for the interview. Can you post another link?

Johnston seems to be the best director that came out of the special effects business. Damn, he should have directed the third Mummy film. I mean he directed October Sky for God sakes. Very far from his resume of special effects. It's amazing it's the same guy. More amazing he did the visual effects for SW in '77.
