You misread what I typed. I know he explains the how and why. I just felt that there wasn't any build up or anything. It was just thrown at you. And it was just so casual that it didn't have any effect.

Oh i know what you mean by that . I did laugh when he was hooking and jabbing like he is supposed to have no concept what he did is heinous.

No love for Benicio del Toro?! I don't get it. He was channeling Lon Chaney Jr. with Oliver Reed thrown in there. This was propably his least mumbly role ever. He loves these classic monsters and is the one keeping this beast running for the silver screen. I don't get all these comments about him being bad actor. Has anyone seen 21 Grams? Things we lost in the fire? Traffic? Che movies? Sin City?

The extended cut should fix some of the problems in the movie. Like the hasty beginning. Also, the characters will hopefully get more meat on they're bones.

Oh yeah, I´d like to see an extended cut witm more character development.

Saw it last night, it was fun, great gore and transformation scenes, and Del Toro is always great. The CG bear had me distracted, couldn't have been hard to have a real bear stand there, and there was a real quantuum leap with the relationship between Lawrence and his brother's widow. The wolf smackdown at the end was good, wanted more of Lawrence in the asylum, drag it out a bit, instead it went a bit ADHD and rushed through to the London rampage. It's a 7 from me, great fun, but not deep, I only liked Lawrence (and Singh). Good flick.

Now I know why it's getting some bad reviews.

Movies like SAW have basically ruined horror films.

People don't want a good story with good, established ACTORS. They don't want emotion or a fleshing out of anything.

They want their gore and death right out in front and within the first five minutes now.

They want a simplistic to non-existent plot that gets out of the way of the screaming and murder and blood, that is gaudy and completely unnecessary.

This movie is nothing like that. Amazing actors, great story, realistic violence and blood and gore integral to the story(because it's about a ****ing werewolf).

Classic horror is dying, and The Wolfman is doing all it can to save it. But I'm thinking that people, in all their idiocy, just don't care about the classic monsters anymore.

And as a classic horror fan, a fan of TRUE monsters like vampires(that don't play baseball in the ****ing sun), werewolves(that aren't giant huskies and that can turn whenever they want), and the like, it deeply pains me to see it happening.

Horror is dying, and SAW is the casket they'll bury it in.

Thank you! This is absolutely the truth, I saw this on friday and while it wasn't the greatest film it blew the **** out of twilight, saw, underworld, and paranormal activity. I actually think the reason that this film is taking such a beating is because critics were expecting too much of it considering the cast and maybe were expecting a truly great film instead of just a good gothic horror film in the same vein. The pacing was obviously a little kinky, im guessing becuz this thing went thru development hell and didnt have the luxury of rewrites becuz of the writers strike. But for me as a classic universal monster fan every moment the wolf was on screen was a ridiculous treat. The cg transformations didnt take me out of it as much as i thought they would, and the practical effects were great! Long live Rick Baker! I do wish it would have engaged the audience on a slightly more serious level becuz i really did have great expectations for this one, but sumtimes u just have to run with wat ur delt. Makes me interested as to what Mr. J is gona do with Cap!

Friday estimates: $9,850,000 *BOM

#1. Valentine's Day $14,625,000
#3. Percey Jackson $9,775,000

That's pretty damn good for a hard R movie opening up against a PG13 blockbuster, and a romantic comedy - on Valentines day.

Great numbers actually, or would be if the constant re-edits and re-shoots hadn't ballooned the budget to crossing the 100 million mark.

If it had been named Paul Blart - Wolf Cop, it would have bested Avatar already.

They can make that world wide i think. If Wolfman and Percy Jackson make near 40 million by Monday then say it wasn't that bad considering its feb

Paul Blart - Wolf Cop

:yay::woot:

Scripts have been greenlighted for far less thought out premises.

Saw this earlier tonight for my Valentines Date. Now luckilly my girlfriend is awesome and was totally on board for it, instead of attempting to drag me to "Valentines Day"

:csad: I'm not getting off so lucky...Neither me or the new chick had heard of the the others movie before I proposed 'The Wolfman". I've got to sit through VD and a poetry reading...I think I just sold Manhatten for a handful of beads.

According too Box office mojo, the production budget was $150 million!

Saw the movie last night - thouroughly enjoyed it, although I can fully appreciate the criticisms about the editing/pacing etc. The acting was solid from everyone [as one would expect with such a quality ensemble] but Weaving was the one who impressed me the most, with both the little nuances that he gave Abberline and his voice being key (how is it that Weaving get's those accents so spot on?).

Thought the Wolfman fx looked good everall but I want to address the running approach in particular. Have to say, I know some folk dodnt appreciate the way that he runs while on two feet (my girlfriend thought it looked dumb) but I thought there was a cool, powerful and substantial quality to it, and I think that's the 1st time I've seen a pi-pedal>quad-rupedal running transition done that actually looks good. I totally dug the speed and savagery that they gave to it and I also totally geek-asmed at the facial close-ups of Wolfy as he was running; they looked fricken awesome.

The movie was joyfully gory in parts (when it can so easilly have been cut to a more 'less offensive' cut in orfer to appeal to a wider audience), but it wasnt wholly reliant on that gore, with atmosphere and mood present also.

I just wish it hadnt have relied so much on one too many 'cheap' scares/shocks. That took it a bit away from me.

Overall? I'd give it 8/10.

Yeah, there was a little too much cheap shocks. Scary yet cheap

My favorite gag had to be where the hunter was trapped in the mud and was about to shoot himself - but was out of bullets. Then the Wolfman slashed his head off. That got the best reaction.

I'm seriously thinking of doing an edit myself if I get the DVD. The movie just needs alot of slowing down and more character devlopment. Lawrence was there within five minutes of the movie. With the pacing the scenes themselves felt rushed.

Weaving was one of my favorite things about it.

The movie had a strong opening, but it still cost 150 mil. It´s gonna have a hard time to get its cost back.

I haven't seen the movie yet. Did it leave open the possibility of a sequel?

Short Answer: Yes

One of the main characters is bitten at the end , when the screen fades away , you hear them howl

I think he is a good actor. He doesn't really stand out in this film but the transformation scenes were good . Especially the scenes in the Asylum.

That was great. Whenever he trainsformed, you couldn't help but think, "Oh, ****. Everyone in this room if ****ed." You were actually scared for them.

Saw it last night. I gave it an 8/10. I was a terrific monster movie and a superb homage and remake of the original Wolfman. Some of the cheap scares were kind of lame IMO (i.e loud noises for the sake of loud noises). The effects were awesome and I was glad to see a practical Wolfman look good on screen. The only complaint I have with the look of the wolf (and I had this since the first promo photo) is the lower jaw. It sticks out and looks like the Wolfman can't close his mouth properly. It's a nitpicky thing, but I thought I would point it out. Hopkins was amazing and Del Toro looked and reminded me a whole lot like Lon Chaney Jr. Good film!

I saw this last night and it was pretty good I was entertained. Loved the gore and violence in the movie, as others have said it definitely was poorly edited and you can tell the key points got edited out. Hopefully we get a directors cut with all the needed footage that was left out with more story and character development.

I really enjoyed this movie and, like a lot of other people, thought it was worthy of an 8 out of 10. There's not much to say that hasn't been said, so I'll just talk about my theater experience.

It was me and my girl at the theater and in front of us was this young girl who kept flipping her phone out during the movie to do a bit of texting. Every time she did this, I kicked the back of her chair, later on I found out my girl was doing the same thing lol. She didn't seem to get the hint though after several kicks to the back of the chair, so towards the end of the movie I pulled out some gum, chewed it and proceeded to throw it in her hair. Kind of an ******* thing to do, but I was kind of buzzed last night and really irritated with the chick. She did it like 15 times throughout the movie! Man.

You did it to the chick in front of you.

We need more people like you, sir.

Wow...you're a jerk so is the other girl but gum in the hair is quite unnecessary. I wish you did that to me so I could punch you in the face. :o
