Wolverine #55, will Sabertooth really die for good?

I loved Wild Child in S+M drag. :D

Seek the muramasa blade, photojones, it is one of only thousands of ways to end your misery.

I think Marvel should have made Sabretooth Wolverines brother, father, cousin whatever and stuck with it, and that could help explain their relationship.
This evolution thing is pure crap.
I think these issues have been confusing and not very good, the art is a little too much.

Originally Sabertooth was going to be Wolverine's father. Wolverine was going to be portrayed as younger and Sabertooth older. However once they drew him without a mask looking middle aged they tossed it out the window heh.\

Of course they were also going to make Wolverine a mutated Wolverine til Stan said it was a stupid idea. Of course him coming from a wolf makes all the difference .

Heh, like I said I like the overall direction, action and presentation, but I hate how their making him a different branch species basically for him (with the death of Saber and Feral, that just leaves Wildchild, Rahne, Thorne which are 3 no one cares about, and Romulus who won't be physically introduced for awhile).

Friend did the scans for me a little bit ago, but just now posting them. Big spoiler, well not if you read this thread of the Bought/Thought heh, so don't open if you plan to read Wolverine #55 (a few scans that don't tell the entire story, just the climax, and also by accident I cut a little bit off the top and sides of the page, but nothing is actually missed) -

At least Deadpool will have another thing to mock Marvel over.

Funilly enough Wolverine cut his head off this week too.......

Anyway, The sword only temporarily negates the healing factor and some one collected sabertooths body and eventually it will heal and he will return.

Or Apocalypse will make him a horseman or something.......Or Wild Child will buff up and evolve and become Sabertooth and change his name to Victor Creed and no one will ever bring it up again.

Huh....I gotta say, I always thought that the "final clash" would be epic, something to put hair on your chest and grunt and say: "It's finally over" but I dunno...maybe it's because I haven't followed this arc, but, this seemed anti-climactic on many levels. Nice to see Vic in his old duds again.

Yeah, I'm glad he came back in that...though how someone running on Animan instincts would pu on his old costume is beyond me.....But I was glad I could see him die without having to look at his giant nipples.

not that I wanted to see him die at all though.

So Wild Child will become the new Sabretooth, why? because he is blonde *gasp* awesome reasoning Loeb

Wolverine: "Well you're blonde, so does that mean I'm gonna have to kill you?"

Hahaha, Loeb.

"GRRR...Do it RRRRRRR"

That was cheesy to read:o

Reposted from elsewhere:

Wolverine #55 - I liked Loeb's run. Apparently that's a blasphemous statement, even among Wolverine fanboys, but I liked it nontheless. I thought it was an interesting look into why there are so many feral-ish mutants in the MU, and it provided closure on the Logan/Creed relationship. Well...until Marvel brings him back, that is.

I don't want to go much further, mostly because no one cares but also because...well, no one cares. But I did want to say, "I told you so" to all the posters (not just on this board, either), who jumped the gun and were so quick to point out Loeb's "continuity flaws". Just like I guessed (and just like Loeb stated very early on) everything was addressed by the time the story came to a close.

So take that you whiney bunch of *****es. :o

Loeb does have continuity flaws. It was explained in X-Factor that Wild Child wasn't born a mutant. He was forcibly mutated with Spikes DNA who was mutated by Logan and Creed's DNA or some such. Wild Child couldn't have been alive during WW2.

Perhaps Romulus is just messing with Logan's mind? Just like everyone else.

I really like the art, but its seems I am in the minority here. I hope this guy sticks around.

The art's great in those pages FadingCB posted. The story? Eh. Sabretooth's totally coming back from that. :oldrazz:

Quick Wildchild! Get some hairdye! :woot: But seriously, that was the actual line? huh....

Kind of reminds me of the Starman bloodline thing.

"Every few generations, the evil gene of his family will come out."

Could be. I do rather prefer this version of Wild Child, it's just that we did sorta have a back history already. :)
