Wolverine: Casting News & possible new pic.

Shreiber as Sabretooth huh?...Curiouser and curiouser how they're going to pull this movie off and keep it in continuity with the other X-movies...That is if this report is even true...Alright then. Whatever. Kind of meh news.

I guess it's a testament to how good the script is...or how desperate Shreiber is for money. Who can really tell until the movie comes out?

I just know they better have a super tall stuntman on hand and pull a Lord of The Rings with this instead of another Wolverine-like error that could have been easily remedied.

Schreiber is 6'3". The Marvel website says Sabretooth is 6'6". There's not much difference there.

Liev's girlfriend Naomi Watts had a baby a few months ago. Naomi is Australian. I bet that may have partly figured into the decision also, so Naomi could be closer to home (not sure if she's filming anything at the same time). Liev is also good friends with Hugh - perhaps they wanted to work together again (don't forget Hugh is also a producer). Liev being cast leads me to believe that Sabretooth will be a substantial role - it was stated somewhere that the reason they didn't bring back Mane was because they wanted "to go in another direction" so maybe more acting chops are needed.

That's exactly what I was thinking, but I guess there's more to the character in this film. I can see them using an actor equal to Hugh to play Sabertooth and Liev fits that perfectly, imo...

In the first X-men movie he was 6'10 so I'm sure they won't just ignore that...Unless they have some explanation for why he grew 7 inches as an adult all of a sudden.

Aren't they supposed to be starting with the actual filming pretty soon?

It just feels very odd that Fox won't at least confirm a couple of castings.

A few weeks ago online reports indicated that Michelle Monaghan was one of the top contenders to play Silver Fox in the upcoming X-Men spin off movie Wolverine. Is that still the case?

IESB's Silas Lesnick is in Riverside, California this afternoon visiting the set of Eagle Eye and had the chance to talk to Michelle about the role of Silver Fox. She confirmed the reports that she is indeed in the running. She admits that she would love to work with Hugh but that she has not signed on just yet. She added that they are trying find a schedule that will allow her to join the X-Men Mutants down in Australia.

Michelle Monaghan Talks Wolverine

Last week, it was rumored that Michelle Monaghan was up for the role of Silver Fox in 20th Century Fox's "X-Men" spin-off, X-Men Origins: Wolverin, to be directed by Gavin Hood and starring Hugh Jackman, Liev Schreiber and Kodi Smit-McPhee.

On Friday, we got a chance to talk to Monaghan on the set of her upcoming thriller, Eagle Eye, and she confirmed that she is up for the role.

"They've asked me to do it," she said. I really like Hugh Jackman and it's areally, really great franchise and stuff. I think we're going to have to work on dates and see if it conflicts. We'll see."

After seeing no country for old men bardem would seem to me like a great choice for ST. His face is perfect for someone as sadistic as ST, and he would pull it off brilliantly(remember that scene of him killing the deputy with the handcuffs his eyes looked so dememted), don't know about the height though

Oh God I can't believe this. Thats so wierd to me. I mean he is a good actor but, i dunno im just having a hard time picturing him in that role. He seems like he can do so much more.
