Wolverine: Casting News & possible new pic.

Michelle Monoghan's cute, but I don't know if she's right for Silverfox. She's not a particularly bad choice so much as she is a questionable one.

Possible new cast member?
Not sure if it's true but Trista from New South Wales, Australia claims she's been cast in the movie. Her myspace page is set to private so it's hard to check for extra details.:o

I have exciting news

Somebody over at IMDB that claims to live in Dunedin, has confirmed that Michael C. Hall is in town.

I'm buying it and taking this as the final piece of evidence that Hall is playing Stryker.

Now we just gotta find out who Robert Knepper, Christian Clark and Brendan Cowell are playing.

Also, I found out that Aaron Jeffery who had been rumored to be playing Dog Logan, just wrapped the Australian film Beautiful with Jackman's wife Deborra Lee-Furness. This could be a puzzle piece as to his rumored involvement with the film being real.

WAIT!

Knepper is in this film!?

This is attracting some serious talent. Jackman, Hood, Hall, Schrieber, Knepper.

Oh and I'm gonna go ahead and say Rob Knepper = Wade Wilson.

The more I think about it I love that idea.

He'd be AWESOME as Deadpool! T-Bag accent and everything. I was thinkin he could play Jean-Luc Lebeau (since there's a Gambit plot) or Gambit himself if Bailey Chase wasn't playing him.

Then again, with Schreiber ending up as Sabretooth instead of Stryker, who knows. I just think Knepper's got those Gambit eyes.

I ****ing love Robert Knepper with a fiery passion. Him as either Gambit or Deadpool would rock my world.

Personally I'm leaning toward Deadpool, he may be a bit too old to play Remy at this point in the continuity but like you said, he'd make a brilliant Jean-Luc Lebeau

I don't see why an older Gambit would be a bad thing. The chemistry with Wolverine would be alot better. A younger Gambit would be basically reminiscent of Bobby Drake, Pyro and Rogue. Its about time he gets a compatible sidekick if ya ask me. And timeline-wise, we're getting Gambit 15 years before X1, so there's no point in having a young Gambit now that will later on be in his 40s with the X-Men if they do X4.

As for the Rumors Retroman, there's little bits and pieces of evidence that back up some of these names. Like I said earlier, Jeffery just finished that film with Hugh's wife and he's one of Hugh's best Actor friends. He also lives in Australia which simplifies the process a great deal, and Hugh's got the whole "expanding the Aussie cinema" crusade going on - so adding more Australian talent to the table would make sense. This same analogy applies to Cowell's involvement. Unfortunately the clues sometimes lead you in the wrong direction. Maggie Q who worked in Hugh's film The List ended up not playing The Silver Fox. He was her producer in The List so I was really confused as to why she didn't end up in Wolverine. Same thing with Natalie Imbruglia, another Aussie whose involvement in the film made sense but ended up being a dead end. Knepper I think is a solid possibility. He works for FOX which is behind Wolverine and he along with all the rumored names, isn't a huge celebrity that would request a quarter of the film's budget as a paycheck. Hugh's gonna wanna get smaller faces that won't leave him broke.

Wolverine shouldn't have a sidekick . He is more of a loner. I was hoping they would save gambit for Xmen4 :csad: . Although I think they are afraid the characters would clash .

oh I forgot that he would possibly be in Wolverine.
and he as Deadpool?
I never thought about it. I could see him as Carnage but as Deadpool...man that should be cool.

Wow, I totally forgot about the Knepper rumor. Him as Deadpool, Gambit, or even Wildchild (if they borrow from current storylines) would kick all kinds of ass.

The model and Bra Babe (she's Bra Boy Koby Abberton's squeeze) Tahyna Tozzi is the latest name linked to Hugh Jackman's Wolverine action film, about to be shot in Sydney and New Zealand. Word across town this week was that Tahyna had landed a sizeable role, which would be her first real acting gig since starring in the ABC's teen surf soap opera Blue Water High.

Just the fact that they're putting Gambit in a Wolverine prequel doesn't feel right.

I see your point but 1 plus 1 is not always 2.:cwink:
Nice find.

It turns out she's also in Deborah-Lee's new movie.

You know I *thought* that name sounded familiar. Either her role in that movie was very small or the writer of the article didn't know about it since they call this movie her "first real acting gig."

Confirmation of Aaron Jeffery?

Love affair Petas out

February 25, 2008 12:00am

WHISPERS from the Wolverine set suggest the hot and heavy romance between actors Aaron Jeffrey and Peta Wilson may have cooled.

The former McLeod's Daughters lothario had been dating the La Femme Nikita tough girl for about a year but the romance is said to have run its course.

Wilson has been previously linked with Love My Way star Dan Wylie, while Jeffrey hit the headlines when his split from first wife, Melinda, culminated in assault and threat-to-harm charges.

Jeffrey is busying himself with a small part in the X Men: Origins flick, after the couple both filmed the feature film Beautiful in Adelaide late last year, with Deborra-Lee Furness.

Looks like he may be Wolverines Brother

http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2007/10/19/1192301044247.html

One such opportunity has gone to the former McCleod's Daughters "hunk" Aaron Jeffrey, who has already gone through one screen test to play Jackman's brother in the film. Jackman and Jeffrey - similarly tall, dark and handsome - have had regular catch-ups on Bondi, where Jeffrey is regularly spotted with his girlfriend, another actor with considerable success in Hollywood, Peta Wilson.

The official word from Seed Productions is that not all the casting has been finalised and the company declined to shed any light on Jeffrey's situation specifically. However, if he lands the role, it could propel his career into the Hollywood major league.

Enough of the casting of unknown/pretty unknown characters (Beak, Agent Zero, etc.), where's the casting for Maverick and is there going to be Shiva?

john wraith, deadpool, gambit, blob, angent zero, silver fox...the list goes on on.
how freaking long is this movie supposed to be?
or are we just gonna get a bunch of pointless cameos and flashbacks? (eg: Colossus and Angel)

Would you prefer the background characters be pure human or some no name mutants?

It's not that bad yet. There are *currently* only a few cameos that are sort of questionable...and even those characters could play an important part - the films have never been 100% faithful, so we'll see.

Wraith, Deadpool, Agent Zero and Silver Fox all belong in this movie, as they have a past with Wolverine/Weapon X. So they shouldn't be seen as "pointless".

thats whats bugging me.
