Wolverine VS. Sentinel clip

sentinel_dio.jpg

This is the scene that Brett Ratner is going to capture. They have to have Wolverine chop off the head so that Colossus can pick it up. It makes no sense for Colossus to destroy the Sentinel and also pick up the head. That's like crazy multi-tasking....

I suppose your musical skills are far superior to his, then? Seriously, do you just hate anything and everything related to the X-Men films? If so, you sure pick some weird places to hang out.
What do my musical skills have to do with John Ottmans? Your comment has nothing to do with anything. Ottman is not a good composer. His scores for X2 and F4 are soild proof of that. They are cheesy over the top throw away garbage. Someone like Michael Giacchino or James Newton Howard would be better suited for a task such as Superman Returns. And who the **** are you to say that I hate everything about the X-Men movies? You dont even know me, pal. I happen to enjoy the first two films for the most part...aside from some shoddy dialogue and crappy music the second. And, I was pretty excited for this movie untill I saw the trailer and then this clip...and then I began to actually think about who was in charge for a minute and realized that this is probably going to be a stinker. In the mean time, do us all a favor and learn how to argue.

Maybe it's hand or it's chest?

Maybe, see surely we'll have to see the Sentinel actually fire the lasers too so we'll have to see that part of it's body. I have a feeling we're more than likely gonna see the whole Sentinel.

If the Sentinel is in the movie, then when do these guys show up? In the Danger Room or during the Bobby/Shadowcat ice skating scene?

Yeah, so do I

Here is a picture of the stunt man that is inside the Sentinel head. A lot of people think that is just a plain old head or CGI, but that Sentinel head is like a complex robot itself. A lot of training went into the choreography of the Sentinel head flying through the air and landing on the ground, especially with Wolverine popping up right behind it. It's extraordinary choreography.

I wish Kinberg/Penn would hurry up and get back online. I'm curious to hear some of their comments!

I don't know about the whole sentinel but you'd think they must show more than just some lights then the head if only to let the audience know where that dirty great head has come from. As shown in the clip though it would be a little dumb to just have those floating lights, some lasers shooting from nowhere then this big head tumble to the ground.

And though I don't think it's that big a deal I dont care for how Logan just appears from behind the head either, he really should be shown falling with or behind it.

The sad thing is I wrote my own version of the Danger Room scene before this clip came out, and (I dont mean to sound arrogant either) even my dialogue is better than the stuff they were spouting.

Yeah, it was very Wolverine I suppose but I've just had it with that character, I'm pretty sick of him! I just thought it took away from Colossus' coolness a bit.

That was an awesome clip, I only hope that in the actual movie we get a full body shot of the Sentinel.

ful sentinels dammit!

What is this, a universal studios ride? LOL Ratner, come on!

Really? I thought it fit perfectly. Very Wolverine-esque.

Is there anything that you've seen about this film that you dont like? I mean I admire your eternal optimism to an extent, but it gets to a certain point where it sounds apologetic. It's like those ppl you see in life who are ALWAYS cheery no matter what. They can be annoying at times. No offense, of course.

I did say before that I had problems with this scene. More specifically, with the music, and how Colossus looked. But like I said, I'm sure it'll be fixed up.

Hopefully Kinberg will answer soon and confirm that its unfinished.

Finger's FIRMLY crossed that they're unfinished FX with temp music!

Well, the clip left me a bit underwhelmed--but there are certainly some positives to go "glee" over:

Positives:
*Storm's line "Logan, we work as a Team"--Flawelessly delivered by the actress. Halle actually had the "leader vibe" drawn all over her facial expressions there.

*Sentinel Head--Looks like it was lifted from the comic book pages themselves. I'm not sure what some of you were expecting for this to look like--they are fitting an obviously fantastical element into Singer's "Realistic universe". It fits fine because it's an illusion.

*Logan's coy lines--"Panties in a bunch", "Tin Man", etc. these are all classic lines of the character as found in the comics. Wolverine is totally nonplussed in this scene and Hugh captures that indifference perfectly. Logan is supposed to be nonchalant people. Again, I'm surprised by some's reaction to this considering this is a CBM to begin with.

Negatives:

* No Full Body Sentinel Shot--I understand that they've only shown the head to act as a "cookie" for comic book readers, but showing the entire body in its glory would really impress the enormity of what the X-Men are facing upon viewers. The way the clip edits that comes across chintzy.

* Editing--It's bad. Period. And it's clear that key lines have been cut that probably make the whole scene flow together better. This clip's sole purpose was to make Hugh Jackman look good--and that's it.

*Music--Contrary to other's opinions, I think this score we're hearing is perm, not temp music. In of itself it probably works well in context but again, the way the clip is edited makes the theme seem anticlimatic and empty.

*Storm's line "Logan, don't do this!"--Terrible voiceover work there. Just wack and unnecessary.

I only had a couple of issues... one is that it was so badly edited. There were obvious scenes they cut out so we don't get too much of a preview. Such as the scene with Wolverine streaking across the screen after he's thrown. EDIT: Nevermind, that scene was in there. They just flipped it so it looked weird :/ It still seems like there's a lot missing from it.

My OTHER problem... is the fact that it was so easily destroyed. Sweet, now if the government ever sends sentinels in the final battle, just team up Juggernaut, Sabretooth, Collosus, Beast, Rogue with strength powers, and play Hot Potato with Wolverine's Fastball Special.

Ummm, that sucked.

It was campy, the music was campy, the dialouge sucked.

My doubts about this movie just keep piling up.
