Well, the clip left me a bit underwhelmed--but there are certainly some positives to go "glee" over:
Positives:
*Storm's line "Logan, we work as a Team"--Flawelessly delivered by the actress. Halle actually had the "leader vibe" drawn all over her facial expressions there.
*Sentinel Head--Looks like it was lifted from the comic book pages themselves. I'm not sure what some of you were expecting for this to look like--they are fitting an obviously fantastical element into Singer's "Realistic universe". It fits fine because it's an illusion.
*Logan's coy lines--"Panties in a bunch", "Tin Man", etc. these are all classic lines of the character as found in the comics. Wolverine is totally nonplussed in this scene and Hugh captures that indifference perfectly. Logan is supposed to be nonchalant people. Again, I'm surprised by some's reaction to this considering this is a CBM to begin with.
Negatives:
* No Full Body Sentinel Shot--I understand that they've only shown the head to act as a "cookie" for comic book readers, but showing the entire body in its glory would really impress the enormity of what the X-Men are facing upon viewers. The way the clip edits that comes across chintzy.
* Editing--It's bad. Period. And it's clear that key lines have been cut that probably make the whole scene flow together better. This clip's sole purpose was to make Hugh Jackman look good--and that's it.
*Music--Contrary to other's opinions, I think this score we're hearing is perm, not temp music. In of itself it probably works well in context but again, the way the clip is edited makes the theme seem anticlimatic and empty.
*Storm's line "Logan, don't do this!"--Terrible voiceover work there. Just wack and unnecessary.
