Wolverine VS. Sentinel clip

i actually liked it...its just a clip of a movie... we can't judge the whole movie with just one clip...

In the clip IVE seen ... some preview stuff at a cinema :

A sentinel LEG sticking out the smoke and not moving. You can see the 2 lights ( which WERENT white but red/orange ) right above it. When Wolverine is done slicing his head of you'll see the leg drop backwards.

Dont worry! Everything will be fixed!

My conclusion?

This PREVIEW clip is older then the LATEST trailer!

You've seen 58 seconds of the sequence and suddenly it's a bad action sequence? How do you know what the rest of the DR sequence will be like?

does that matter when it comes to THE BASIC LAWS OF PHYSHICS?

I won't beat the dead horse with details, but I just have to say I'm disappointed with this clip.

Also, I seen haven't any comments on the subject: was anyone else annoyed by the discrepancies between the sentinel's eyes towards the beginning and its eyes once Logan had severed the head? Call me crazy, but when a pair of large spotlights inexplicably become a pair of glowing red rectangles, well that's just bad film making. I also noticed that while the eyes are still spot lights, the distance between the two fluctuates, but now I'm just *****ing for *****ing's sake.

yes... it is definately suppos to be his eyes! and it definately doesnt try to have any continuity or thought at all

Psyshics? Oh right lol!

*Points at Spiderman*
*Points at Superman*
*Points at Optic Blasts / Men Freezing / Claws coming out of hands etc etc*

Do I need to go on? ;)

XWolverine2 , YOU missed something , I didn't ;)
14th of MAY COME ON!

1. The lights look closer together because they are shining straight at the camera.

2. The lights most likely come from the chest as oppose to the eyes. I think the eyes are for the red lasers we have seen in the trailers.

wow! can you prove why santa isnt a myth next? two lights from his chest? see this is a silly assumption then saying the scene was horrible

I liked the clip .. and I really dont care about how the lines were delivered.

If you know that your in the Danger Room and everything looks real but is fake instead would you warn others or would you remain calm and just make fun of it? ;)

Anyway this clip is unfinished. The Collosus Metal-up sound effects are missing and his hair hasnt been "blackened" yet. From what I've seen ( and I've said it before , different clip ) the Sentinel could be seen but only a leg sticking out the thick smoke. When Wolverine chops his head clean off you see the leg dropping backward.

And I really have no explanation how Wolverine got off that Sentinel ;)

there was sound effects for colossus metaling up. Or at least for when he metaled down. It happened concurrently with wolvie's sentinel head slashing sound.

These are exceptions that we let go because they are inherent to the premise for the movie.

If I had to guess what I think Wolverine does is he jumps on a certain part of the Sentinels Shoulder & then slashes up the head. Then as the head starts to fall Wolverine jumps on the head

Which is believeable

Those lights have to be coming from something else or another part of the Sentinels body! What gets me though is if they were coming from the Sentinels chest, why couldn't we see the Sentinels red eyes abouve the white lights, where his head should be?!

EVERYONE READ THIS....

1) It's obvious the scene was CUT DOWN for the purpose of the talkshow. Wolverine's voice cuts off here and there. When Storm hits the side of the car beside Wolverine, the sound effects don't match up to the previous shot of her before. Right when we see the spotlights, it sounds as if the music glithces even more, slightly proving that something before that was cut out.
2) Wolverine's voice sounds like it was overdubed when he's slicing the Sentinel (in lamen's terms, that means that probably cut out him slashing the Sentinel to bits and just made it so you hear it, but don't see it)
3) The Sentinel's eyes are red. The spotlights were white. What does that tell us little boys and girls? That they obviously come from two different sources on the Sentinel. Gee......doesn't take a genius to figure that out.
4) This is probably not a finished clip. Why do I say that? They probably had this clip ready weeks ago, before it got its final touch of movie-magic, just for the purpose to use on talk shows. It's exactly what they want people to see. It's not perfect. It's just an action scene featuring Wolverine doing Wolverine type stuff and slashing up a robot.
5) As it's obvious the scene was cut down majorly, in the finished product we could still see a shot of Wolverine slashing the Sentinel (and showing it) and then jumping off and landing, then progress to show the X-Men standing as the head comes down, and Wolverine comes walking from behind it like he just got back from walking a toddler.
6) It's just a clip, so why would they show the Sentinel in full!! Why would they show it!? Thats like Famke going on a show and showing the fiery Phoenix fire-bird in action when it's supposed to be left for surprise!! Of course they'd take a lot of crap out as to not spoil it!

So, in finishing, to sum up a great line by Wolverine.... "Don't get yer panties in a bunch".

all of you points are going to fix the TWO HUGE FLAWS... wire flight and no wolvie on falling head... and to assume they are adding him in 3 weeks before the movie????? HA!

and what of brett ratners work makes you think he is going to fix it? Cause he is such a "realism director"??????

and then you have colossus's look, campy lines, sentinel in the danger room... i am convince if it was a "cut" scene it was to try to repair a horrible longer version

I heard that too. It sounded kind of liquidy.

They were nowhere near clear enough. There was no sound FX for him metalling up, there were barely audible FX when he metalled down, there were no sound FX for Storm spinning and Wolverine's claw sound FX were delayed.

A point about things making sense and grounded in realism. We are talking about a movie where a guy has wings and a man is blue and is covered in fur. Why all of a sudden, after the amazing trailers, and everyone watches this obviously unfinished clip, is the movie, the director, the actors, the writers, almost everyone involved in the production being slammed? It was unfinished and poorly cut together. It doesn't deserve the bashing it's getting and we can't judge the rest of this movie on 58 seconds. And how will the battles be campy as hell?

all right... talked about this for about 2 days now with my girlfriend, we are big fans and have been buying every mag and reading every article and reading all these post every day! That being said, we would hope that our age group and our level of artistic snobbery would be the target audience for this movie...

but painstakingly it is seemingly not. There is something i think that alot of the people in this particular thread do NOT understand. It is a quote by Mark Twain... one of the best quotes of his ever. (IMO) "To write fiction you must first have a great understanding of fact" (or something to that extint). The reason i like that quote is because of how true it is. I call it the XXX vs. the MATRIX theory. In the matrix you have a lot of far fetched feats being performed. Freezing in air kicks, bullet dodging, running on walls... and as silly as those things were they were established in a realm of fact first, then presented.

Why could NEO fly? Run up walls? etc??? Cause he was part of a mental video game that he could control as long as he knew the moves and was strong with the force (HAHAHA)!!! Basically it was all explained first.

Now lets go to XXX or as i call it "the worse action movie of all time"! This movie completely ignored this lil fact. It wasnt suppose to be "real". So who cares, right? He can ride a motorcycle on a roof of a hay barn while a helicopter fires 180 (or so) cal. bullets into the hay and wood causing a NAPALM (sp? its late) EXPLOSION! Sure.... that makes sense! Why the hell not? Movie watchers dont like to think... they wont put together the massive holes in that.

Go back to HULK or to F4. Now i know that Avi Arad says that he thinks the HULK was a flop do to the "dark elements" and complexity of plot, and it wasnt enough of a "POP CORN FLICK, which is what hulk fans want to see", but that was not it at all. The reason hulk flopped is cause they FRACKED up the "popcorn"! The movies depth, and complexities were awesome! What was missing was the FACT BEHIND THE FICTION in the POPCORN scenes. Think about it... what about him and his dad would make FACE IMPRINTS IN CLOUDS? Where is the backing for that? Or for the stupid animals? What about F4? Great depth... character development etc... what did it flop on? The "Popcorn" scenes. The mindless fights. The fight between fantastic and the thing was more interesting then that of the team and doom!

Marvel is ****ing this up big... hollywood is in general with all the movies about superheroes. (except spiderman) They seem to think the "Movies arent made to be taken seriously... so why bother?" And they get away with it from reasons like the average ticket buyer. Those that say "Triple X was awesome! And i loved FAST AND THE FURIOUS!" LOTR had a big chance to flop... do did MATRIX so did X2. But those movies all had something in common.... I respect for science in the fictional fighting scenes. That is what made bryan singer so freaking amazing. His realism approach to the most ridiculously hard stories to keep real. But he saw... "focus on evolution and you have a means of truth, then go to how the world will react and make sure you capture that. Then make sure the fights look real! Grab the audience." Hence we get the white house reaction to an INTRUDER (best cinematic scene of all time if you dont count the NO CUTS SCENE of the hammer fight in OLDBOY) Hence you got the COP SHOOTING LOGAN, the kids getting attacked that the mansion. You have all these elements that made sense.

You know what doesnt make sense? A sentinel in the danger room.

You know what doesnt make sense? Logan being thrown slowly and straight

You know what doesnt make sense? A sentinel head falling 100 feet and logan holding on to it, no problem and out of site, only to hit the ground and walk out from around it perfectly standing rightward shaking his hands. (he should have had some legs in the air as he held on for dear life as the head fell off. And then he should have fell on his ass once the head hit the ground... and it should never had been a sentinel)

you know what else doesnt make sense? 220 million dollar movie and we havent seen **** on it yet that validates the cost. NOTHING.

I am not saying that brett ratner wont build character depth... or he wont make a watchable movie... i am saying the battles (which this movie is seemingly one giant battle) are going to be campy as hell.

and this is sooo hard for me to say. cause i hate negativity, and i love my xmen. but unless this is the only STUPID clip in the whole movie.... then i feel that fox just took bets on people like us going to see this movie REGUARDLESS, so what was the point.

sorry guys.

flame on.

i hope they fix the rocks like they did the juggernaut wall thing...
