Wolverine VS. Sentinel clip

its also the lines. Theyre utterly generic and of course, Halle does phone them in too. "Logan." "Don't do this." "We work as a team." "Dammit Logan don't do this"

And for all o'you hatin' on Pete... his metal effect is great near the end when he (for some reason) backs down. There is a sound effect. I really like Colossus.

Now the question is that the only Sentinel we will see, or will there be a full on shot not covered in fog and shadow?

Halle Berry her acting is underwhelming. Danger Room or not, the scene looks like it was shot on a soundstage. I live in Orlando and it reminds me of all the times I go on Universal rides in soundstages and there is this black/gray misty smoke that clouds the actual walls of the place. The spotlights have no relation whatsoever to the rectangular red hue of the Sentinel's eyes.

The music sounds like something out of the 70s, classic horror riffs when the "Spotlights" arch over the edge of the car. And I'm saying this about Powell, who's music I love! The shot's are mostly master shots for the action, no angle or kinetic cinematography. The camera's relying on you being impressed with explosions and that's just about it.

When the Sentinel head falls in crashes into the ground, with no sign of Logan anywhere on it. Logan then walks out from behind it, perfectly unscathed, which I can accept, but his body frame and size is taller then the Sentinel's head and it makes no sense that 1) he'd not been injured when it slammed to the ground or 2) that he couldn't be seen when it fell.

Not to mention that the head falls forward but that there are no feet or legs or what not for the Sentinel anywhere in the clip. Apparently, the body just remained upright or the body didn't exist.

As I said. Underwhelming. Singer's animatics would've been better then this.

Well, we've haven't seen what happens after the head stops rolling on the ground... :p

Exactly. The "off-stage" crap is cheesy and B-Movie. If they coudln't afford it or didn't have time to pull it off, they should'nt've done it. Period.

But Ratner came on with his fan boyism and insisted and now its there.

There. You got it. A Sentinel...head.

woo...hoo.

How? It seemed like Halle acting like Halle.......( storm should've acted like a LEADER ... but yet came off as somewhat whiny to me)

Thats part of the problem.

The other big problem you noted correctly is that the Sentinel doesnt come across as real at all. Its two lights and a head. They should have shown it on camera, or just cut it out if it was too expensive.

Here's one thing that no one seems to be keeping in mind,

clips that appear on talk shows or the Internet are usually edited down and not a full representation of what will be in the actual film.

I hope that's the case this time.

That clip was fun and encouraging, but also underwhelming. I should be losing my mind over the first live action view of a Sentinel and instead I'm thinking, that was kinda fun.

I'm more amused by the fact that logans voice sounds weird and the editing is HORRIBLE.

Anyway, was it that hard to tell that Bratner would screw this whole movie up?

Doubt it.

I'll wait and see. I'll wait. But I swear, come May 26th if the scene looks anything like this...I want some apologies and some crow eating.

Here's to praying that it will be I eating crow.

I second that.

Whether this movie is perfect or not, it's still going to be fun to see.
Halle Berry has never been a good Storm, and the fx on Colossus does look a bit weak, but I still feel this is going to be the most fun and thrilling X-Men of all.
It looks to be more action packed than the others which is what this franchise needed.
I can't wait for May 26th!

Oh come on, I think the clip is fantastic. The movie will hold up to expectation. Fan-boys will be wetting in their short when opening day comes for X3. The only thing that could have shown more is of the Sentinel, showing the whole body would be more better. I agreed with some people that this seemed like a very incomplete scene.

Bryan Singer should never have gone to do Superfag Returns if you asked me, who is the villian again for that movie again? Lex Luthor? come on. And how come they waited so long to show the general public a trailer of the movie? because they saw X3 trailer and don't know what to do now plus they had such an ealrier production start time than X3. X3 was rushed but then again Ice Age 2 was rushed too and looked how that turned out.

not to be bias but............MARVEL RULES

You are going on my buddy list.

I'm just qouting you because of your creative spelling of "Superman" which I'll be sending to someone in a bit.

Here goes another fanboy argument like we got over the running time.

The fx shots aren't finished!!!!!!
* explodes*

But time is running out very rapidly and there's only so much they can do in a few weeks. And considering that they thought this clip was worthy of the Tonight Show, they might not even think that the effects needed touching up at all. I wish that they score/FX were better too, but I have very little faith they will be changed by release.
