Agreed! If anything, that nonsense should have been put to bed a long time ago by The Dark Knight Trilogy, Burton Batman films, several X-Men films, Ca: Tws and Cap Civil War to name but a few.

The Burton Batman films actually weren't very well received back in the day, hence why they led to the Joel Schumacher movies.

Also, 'Logan' is an R-rated movie, so you could argue that critics will have different standards for judging it compared to the usual PG-13 CBM, which is expected to be family-friendly.

Oh, so that explains Batman and Batman Returns scored so low on RT at 72% and 80% RT respectively (compared to BvS and Suicide Squad's 27%) and why they only made $547 million and $337 million adjusted for inflation. I guess Batman Returns scored higher on RT than the first Batman due to being so much lighter than it! :cwink::o Poor Dark Knight trilogy, X2, Days of Future Past, Winter Soldier and Civil War, they just can't compete with FF 2005 and FF 2007 because they're just too dark for critics compared to the celebrated lightness of the FF films!

You do realize that RT didn't exist back when the Burton films were released, right? I specifically said that those movies weren't very well received when they were INITIALLY released.

I really hope this movie gets good RT scores and that it is indisputably well-received and critically acclaimed. I don't want it to be like any of the previous DCEU movies or any of Gal's previous movies which have received generally negative reviews.

This movie needs to do well. More than that, it needs to be a good film. WW deserves that for her first big screen adventure.

It unfortunately seems to be a trend to give these movies a poor rating just because it's the 'in' thing to do. There are way worse movies than BvS and SS out there that have higher RT scores.

The RT pages for those movies are listing reviews from it's release date - just clicked on one of the positive reviews from Batman Returns - very positive. It's a 1992 review from Time Magazine.

My goodness, you should be embarrassed. If there was a critic bias, there would be a drop off correlation with reviewers that weren't employed by major magazines/trades/sites, or between viewers and critics overall (tracking overall percentages and accounting for variances, like hundreds of people rating BvS 10/10 on Rotten Tomatoes' audience review score BEFORE IT WAS RELEASED). The numbers are always there if a story is real.

But no, it's easier to believe a multi-billion dollar conspiracy than it is to believe that genuinely about 70% of people don't like somethinf thT you like.

I don't like Game od Thrones. I also thought There Will Be Blood was absolute drivel. That doesn't mean that critics or the world is wrong, or that people are jduging based on a bias. It means I have a minority opinion about a piece of art.

I'm predicting a 70-80% rating. The trailers are terrific, it seems more straightforward and accessible than Snyder's films, and Warners have HOPEFULLY learned by now not to butcher their films in post.

It's WB so a 25% rating wouldn't shock me but I'm going to be very, very, very optimistic and say it's going to be the first DCEU film with a fresh rating of 71%.

There really is no low end when it comes to the DCEU but id put a high cap at around 80% - even if the movie's great - due to unfair stigma.

Uh, your use of logic and reason is out of place in here.

45%. WB has been sleeping on the film, which makes me think they have a stinker on their hands. There's nothing outright wrong with the trailers so it could be deemed passable but not much beyond that.

Sorry, lads. Hope I'm wrong.

I agree with a previous poster. First female superhero movie in a while with a female director. No way this gets less than 70% regardless of quality. It will at minimum get the social justice 70+ rating the Ghostbuster's remake got.

If it is actually good it will be in the 80's

I'd be happy with a 70% even a 65%. Just be good.

Anything above DCEU's highest rated movie is a success

Ah yes, social justice boogeymen (boogeywomen?). Never gets old.

When Logan comes out and gets good reviews, I hope it stops this nonsense that critics only like lighthearted superhero movies.

Critics like good movies, regardless of tone.

Now that Logan is out and IS critically acclaimed, it's now WW's turn to prove that it's good, regardless of its dark tone.
