Wonder Woman Thread Reborn!

I know it's like beating a dead horse (and just had a mental picture of what that would look like and... gross) but how could hollywood not want to bring this character to the big screen?

I mean just look!

All they have to do is show Ares converse with and manipulate two persons on opposite sides of a conflict to get the idea that he does this sort of thing quite a bit.

I wrote a Wonder Woman treatment and would like to share it here on this site. It is a more modern take on the character without sacrificing the older stuff like having the invisible jet, etc. I don't know all the rules at this site even though I have been dropping by for months. I have talked to some people to try and set this in motion, but not anyone important yet and would be honored you guys blessed me by reading it first!

^ You show us yours and we'll show you ours. ;)

I want her costume to resemble Ancient Greek armor and still be vaguely reminescent of the stars-and-stripes like, say, a cape at public apperences. Erin Cummings for WW.

I think having the Wonder Woman TV series come out before the film is a great idea. Build public interest, etc.

Smallville was on for about 5 years before Superman Returns was released. (I haven't been a long time viewer, but I think Smallville was probably at the height of its popularity, no?) I think by having a Superman TV series helped boost interest in the movie, then say, had it come out of 'no where'...for lack of a better term.

Welcome to the boards 3bitz! :)

Thank you for that warm welcome! I will PM everyone who asks for a copy as soon as I can guys, and for the guy who goes by superman 01 you might want to really check it out. JMC you had me at show me.....!

there is something truely haunting about some scenes of beauty and the beast while lion king was good it seemed bit formulaic in its emotional moments. Both are exceptional movies I can just see why the academy foun it more endearing.

Oh, definitely. Scenes that immediately come to mind is when Beast saves Belle from the wolves, and when he is alone and won't retaliate to the mob that was coming after him.

The Hunchback of Notre Dame is perhaps Disney's most haunting film, however.

Wonder Woman has a pretty large fan base thats been wanting a film adaptation for quite sometime, not to mention a tv series has a huge potential to fail especially with the people rumored to be attached behind it. Its a bit of a unnecessary gamble, especially since this would be the first wonder woman live action adaptation since way back then. With superman there was a whole bunch of movies with Reeves that are actually still relevant to this day not to mention the numerous rumors of so called Superman flicks back in the late 90's early 2000's before we got SR. Superman has always got alot of attention where Wonder Woman has got little to nothing. I believe WW needs atleast a shot at the big screen so it has a chance to be taken seriously, and i assure a WW movie would surprise a lot of people because it has a lot of potential.

I also think WW has a larger audience then what all the skeptics think, i mean this is really an iconic comic book character in general and a lot of die hard comic book fans like myself have to respect that and would love to see how it gets adapted on the big screen. We've seen resident evil, underworld, tomb raider, kill bill, etc. with female leads and do pretty well and they dont have as big of a fan base as imo wonder woman does when it comes to a already established fan base, people that have been reading the comics for ages.

Why don't you just post your story treatment so everyone can see?

Maybe a story arc involving WW playing a “hooker with a heart of gold” would probably interest someone at WB. It’s extremely easy for men to make movies about fallen women who are kind and wholesome, but prostitute themselves for a living. Female superheroes suck, because men in Hollywood love watching women SUCK literally.

I'll try. Thanks. Oh yeah, I forgot, welcome to the hype.

I think the opening scene to Beauty and the Beast trumps any film I've ever seen as far as a "haunting moment" when they show the stained glass reliving how the prince was transformed it still to this day gives me chills when I watch it.

Your very welcome. :yay:

Because I'm new the boards will not allow it. I haven't found a way to do a PM but who ever sends me their email will get it right now!

Why wouldn't the boards allow you to post your story treatment?

I think you need 10 posts before you're allowed to post a link. You'd have to ask Drakon about that, though

Rules are rules but I will keep checking back all day to see if there is a good solution! I hope I could finally post it today, but like they always say good things come to those who wait.

Beat me to it Project. :oldrazz:

I haven't seen her in anything, but she's got a good look. Fun fact: Her name means "Goddess of Love".

Dont know a thing about her acting, but physically she is perfect

She has a great look but....

First of all, I don't trust one thing that **************.com posts.

Second of all, it says on her Wikipage (which also should not be trusted all that much, if at all) that she's already begun recording a series for HBO titled Femme Fatales where she's been cast as the lead character and it'll be 13 episodes for the first season.

We'll see, if she does get the role eventually I guess I'll be renting "Death Race: Frankenstein Lives" and "Lost Boys: The Thirst" after all just to see how good her acting is.

It might be a fake rumor started by her agent or publicist. This people use to do this kind of things.
