Accents (that are not of your native tongue) can be tough to do. If you can nail in spot-on, then by all means go for it. If not, sometimes it's just better not to try. This thread is devoted to all of those who tried... and failed miserably.

Kevin Costner - Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (the English accent is barely there but you can hear him make a few attempts at it from time to time)

Ewan MacGregor - Deception (worst attempt at a New York accent I've ever heard)

Jeremy Irons - Appalooza (half-assed attempt at an American Western accent)

Sam Worthington - Terminator Salvation (drifts from American ghetto-thug to Australian to Austrian, maybe? All I know is that it sounded ridiculous in many scenes.)

Patrick Wilson - Phantom of the Opera (terrible attempt at a French accent)

Kevin Costner in 13 Days...New Englander accent is so far off.

Eric Bana in Troy...I don't even know what he was trying but it was bad.

Tom Cruise's attempt at an irish accent in Far and Away.

Awful.

halle berry in x-men 1... dont know what the hell accent that was lol...

There's a movie on Hulu, Deeply, with Kirsten Dunst. I thought it was in Ireland or Scotland by her accent then I thought its supposed to be in New England. Later I find it's Canadian. Then I'm really pissed I watched a movie about Canada.:cmad:

Hugh Jackman in X3, slight touch of his Australian accent bleeding through his dialogue in some scenes when he's supposed to be Canadian *looks at ComicbookKid*

LOL... Halle Berry. Good one.

Gerard Butler - whenever he plays an American (Gamer, The Ugly Truth, PS I Love You)

Tom Cruise's German accent in Valkyrie.

Wait...

Brad Pitt's accent in.. well, every movie he needed to do an accent for

Sacha Baron Cohen's french accent in Talladega Nights was not as good as Peter Sellers' in The Pink Panther movies. I know they're both a caricature and not supposed to be very realistic but Clouseau is definitely better.

Steve Guttenberg - Don't Tell Her It's Me - Also belongs in Worst Movies.

Its supposed to be a New Zealand accent and it sounds part Scottish, part Austrian, part Bostonian part American, part... pure butchery.

Clive Owen in Sin City. I was just sitting there thinking "where are you supposed to be from?"

Also, Keanu Reeves in Francis Ford Coppola's Dracula. Just awful.

sean connery as bond (british) .... and most other movies he's been in

I think he was supposed to be Irish in that movie.

Eric Bana in Troy...I don't even know what he was trying but it was bad.

In interviews Pitt was saying his accent(which was similar to Banas) he made up. To be honest I kind of liked it, something different instead of just using a typical American/English accent.

I think you mean Scottish...and I think that he's always played a Scott...in every movie he's in...

IT WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!

Ahahaha, yeah it really sucks. Her accent in 2 is kinda akward too. In three she's just her regular self. Lol, nice consistency Berry ;)

His accent in Troy was well done.

With the exceptions of The Hunt For Red October and Highlander.

Highlander was a particularly inspired piece of casting...
A Frenchman as a Scot and a Scot with a lisp as a Spaniard...

"Cows don't look like cows in front of the camera... you have to use horses."

Harrison Ford in K-19 : The Widowmaker, attempting to speak with a Rusian accent.

Kevin Costner in 13 Days.

Kevin Costner in 13 Days.

That still makes me chuckle, to this day.
