BvS Would Richard Grayson be part of this movie? - Part 1

Some people will literally nitpick at anything jeez!

We had rumors of a Red Hood movie, so I'm hoping it's Jason's suit we see, and that Dick is on bad terms with Bruce and has made a new life for himself in Bludhaven.

Me too, it would be such a waste to kill off Dick Grayson and not use Nightwing in live action.

I really hope it isn't Grayson :csad: not OG Robin we need Nightwing and for him to form the Teen Titans. :argh:

Agreed, I think a solo Nightwing film would rock. Only thing that makes me wonder is with the Teen Titans TV series maybe that's how they were able to use Dick Grayson because the movies weren't.

And any future Robin, despite complaints, I expect - Carrie Kelley played by Maisie Williams!

Wait! Carrie Kelly is in this? I must not have gotten the memo

Just what I hope as well.
Dick should be alive and kicking.

Jason can be dead, but we need some flashbacks to his time as the boy wonder.

What kind of actors should they go for with Jason if Zegers is the adult Dick/Nightwing? It has to be someone younger. Is there a possibility to use either Lerman or Highmore? Neither of them suit the character (Jason) though. But it could still work if Robin is only shown in quick glimpses?

Then what about Dick? If we're going with flashbacks, then we need to see him as Robin too. That's a must!

The general audience will be confused if there are two Robins. But I think it'll work if the flashbacks are shown in correct order.

What's great is how often people used to claim Robin could never be included a serious Batman franchise. I laugh in the faces of those people.

Well killing Grayson would be beyond stupid why is it so hard to get a Batman movie with the Bat Family? :csad:

I just hope the suit has pants. I honestly can't tell if it does. Seriously.

I laugh too. I've always been thinking that it could work in one way or another.
The O'Donnell version was awful. He's the worst Robin.

Seconded

I never used to get the point of Robin but in recent years I've seen his value. I really think he can be done right in live action as long as he's taken seriously.

hopefully it's Jason that's "dead" and not Dick

that line Bruce says in the trailer, "20 years in Gotham and how many good guys are left?" makes me think that Batman lost some people. no word yet on Commissioner Gordon but hopefully he's still around. Barbara is crippled, Jason is dead, and Dick left Gotham

Well we dont know how much of a role he'll have. If he's just a suit in a glass case, then there's not much to him is there?

I like that Robin suit is like Batman's but with lil bit of Robinizams :)

I doubt that.

It would be a shock to many (comic book fans), I believe they would be aware of that.

Why wouldn't I be able to sympathize with and understand Bruce if it were Jason who was dead?

Because, many don't give a **** about Jason (yours truly included :woot:). Don't forget it was the readers of the comics who got him killed in the first place. Dick, on the other hand, is universally loved.

Simpler =/= better.

No. Simpler =/= simpler. It is not necessary to make it simpler, but it would be avoiding altogether what potentially might be a complicated, convoluted universe that is confusing to your general viewer. Or at least, they'd have more screen time for matters at hand, against explaining all previous Robins. Again, this can be done well, but can also easily go the wrong way.

There's a difference between killing a character the audience loves and never introducing them in the first place. If they had given us Dick Grayson and then killed him off, I could see your point. The situation they're presenting? Nah. A dead Robin is a dead Robin. We never met any of them, so the effect on the story they're telling is the same no matter who it is. If Dick is that dead Robin then it's potential future stories that have been screwed.

Well, I was referring to the comic book fans. To general audience it will remain the same - as you said, a dead Robin is a dead Robin and serves the purpose of justifying how dark Batman has become. But to the fans, the fact that the Robin is Dick Grayson is more tragic one than if it was Jason Todd, as Grayson is much more generally loved and that would mean that we were robbed of seeing Nightwing in this universe, making us sad and pissed in the process. Hence, in-universe, Joker robbed us of seeing Nightwing in this universe and we would project those feelings onto the character.

And any future Robin, despite complaints, I expect - Carrie Kelley played by Maisie Williams!

Or what about... KEEPING THE ROBIN MALE!!! :argh:

:o

Who would you guys like to see cast as Robin?

I'd like Taron Egerton to play either Dick or Tim. I thought he was great in Kingsman and is in great shape.

I might be alone on this, but if Jason Todd is the one dead - keep him dead. I don't care for the Red Hood story, I think it cheapens the weight of his death, and we've seen the whole "he died and came back with a vengeance" thing a million times.
