I'm guessing a lot of you have seen it, but that's not too easy now since DVD's have taken over. I guess the movie doesn't have a DVD release, maybe because it's not a very good film.
Still, it's the best lie action Captain America we have, and I'll admit I have a certain affection for it. How can a mans marvel movie collection be complete if we don't have every film?
Would you buy it on DVD?

No. I don't think I'd even steal it on DVD. I'm not even sure it IS on DVD.

Now a VHS...there's a certain charm to owning CAPTAIN AMERICA on VHS.

Only if it came in a two-pack with this gem:

I know. I always think of Jim Breuer every time I see that pic.

I've bought the original FF twice in my lifetime and even I wouldn't touch that Cap nonsense.

Yeah I would buy that movie on DVD. I don't care if that movie blows, I'll buy anything Captain America.

I collect comic based movies....so yeah, I would buy one.

I'd buy one, but I'm still waiting for the Reb Brown TV movies to come out on Blue Ray.

Weird that they put a picture of a Bowen statue.

It depends on the circumstances.

If i was browsing for movies on Amazon tonight and spotted it, i'd pass right by it.

If i was walking around the local thrift shop at 16, stoned and found it in a bargain bin, then yeah! Sure, why not? :hehe:

I'd buy it. This movie is a guilty pleasure for me.

You know what I want to own? The old SHAZAM TV series, with Mentor and the battle camper.

We should be getting a real Captain America movie soon so I'll hold out.

I would. I have a bootleg of the Corman F4 movie. There is something to be said for the marvel movie cheese 3 pack. F4/Capt. America and the 89 Punisher.

Hey guys, I just checked Amazon and all the other usual sites for the Captain America 1990 DVD (comes out tomorrow) and it appears that it's not available anywhere. I Google'd it and it let me to a trailer on YouTube and here. Did they cancel release? I haven't seen it yet and was gonna check it out (no matter how bad it may end up being). I still have Punisher '89 on VHS, but my VCR is broke and can't get Cap '90 on VHS.

I believe it's going to be a MGM/Fox made on demand release, but should pop up on amazon at the least when it's released.

According to Albert Pyun's site a director's cut dvd is still coming and so is the Blu-Ray release, although I haven't figured out how to order just the blu-ray yet. When I e-mailed them i got this response:

Yes, the details are below and the display is attached.

Albert Pyun announces a CAPTAIN AMERICA: Director’s Cut Region Free DVD as a bonus feature to his CAPTAIN AMERICA Commentary and autograph. Also included is Pyun’s Film, LEFT FOR DEAD: Inferno Version. The extended director’s cut includes additional scenes, never seen before – approximately 13 minutes more footage, runs 110 minutes). The film is transferred from a 35mm work print to HD. It was not transferred from the original negative and there are visible splices and some artifacting in the dark scenes. The picture quality is far superior to Albert Pyun’s previous director’s cuts.

This offering will ship orders through July 13, only. After that Albert is driving across the country to screen “Tales of an Ancient Empire” and Captain America: Director’s Cut in Austin,TX (Alamo Drafthouse), Louisville, KY (FrightNight Fest/Con and Fandom Fest), Montreal, Ca (Fantasia Film Fest), followed by Honolulu, HI. on August 7. Orders after July 12 will be pre-orders for mid-August shipping.

Three disk set:

COST To US $25.00. - free shipping

To Canada $25.00 - free shipping

To International destinations $29.00 - free shipping

For a Blu-Ray disk of the director’s cut feature, add $9 to the above price. The only difference is a better picture. The other two disks are DVDs in a DVD case. If you purchase Blu-Ray we'll email to you a digi file of new case art created by CA fan Fritz Nilsen.

New orders for DVD sets will ship starting Friday/Saturday – Blu-Ray sets will ship starting Monday/Tuesday

Click on the link below to order and fill in the correct amount for your destination. Include your name and address and the one line personal message you want from Albert Pyun, or any instructions for your order. You will find this on the ‘review’ page of your order.
