one of the reasons why I like it here more than BT.net... all the sheep congregate over there...
BrittishTellicom does indeed suck!

Remember when they were banning anyone who said anything negative of SR? They didn't want to lose all the freebies the WB was giving them.

The reboot option in the poll is there mainly to express people's opinion. In my opinion.

You are correct. I tried to make it clear by adding a "confirmed" restart as this thread isn't to debate whether a restart is possible. It's asking... IF it came down to a CONFIRMED restart made as soon as a CONFIRMED sequel, which one would you want.

Woot my "reboot choice "made the poll dead even :woot:

Even so , as much as i would hope to see Singer cutting the Donner umbilical cord and making a superman movie worthy of the title superman and finally showing off just what CG can do for a superman movie , just feel that a reboot would be better.

For some reason i just feel Singer would just over complicate things

Honestly I would love to see a sequel to Superman Returns, I personally loved the movie and would love to see where Singer goes from here. But in the same I wouldn't mind a reboot either. I just don't want to get SV the movie as the reboot. Now don't get me wrong I love SV and thought it would make a great movie (during season 1-3) but since then the show really has gone down hill and if I had to chose between a sequel to Superman Returns or Smallville: The Movie then I'll pick the sequel. Because 9 out of 10 before they (WB) try to do a complete reboot they'll try to push out a SV: the movie.

Don't forget about the Supermanhomepage they are forbidden from knocking SR too, and they get their freebies as well. :cmad:

The honest answer is, if there was no sequel, don´t hold your breath for a restart. That´ll be it for Superman movies for a LONG time.

To support Superman Returns so there won't be a Smallville is silly, why can't a reboot just be a better Superman movie.

yes bosworth was perfectly cast as being a seasoned, award winning journalist with a 5 year old kid. the fact that she looks like she's 12 and has the emotional range of particle board is surely not on her.

Isnt the idiotcity on this board baffling, I say a restart SR was not a good film medicore at best.

not really. i see quite a number of posters over there dislike SR. just that they are more... shy to express themselves. :woot:

For the mere fact that threads like these exist, is testament a REBOOT the way to go.
SR was soooo great, why is this even a question? :whatever:

For the sake of discusion man. Not for the sake of bashing.

And if this poll is 50/50 and the poll about keeping/firing Singer is always in favour of keeping him, how reboot is the way to go?

Let's go with a sequel but they do need to recognize that they need to lighten up the movie, make it less of a soap opera, let Routh actually have some dialouge both as Clark and Superman, bring much more action to the screen, revisit each character and have them more in line with what they should be (only Jimmy was portrayed as he should have been IMO), and add to the Superman myths - a kid dosen't count. If they can do these things then a sequel would be cool! But then again I'm being greedy I just want to see Superman doing new things as soon as possible - ultimately what would be best is for them to reboot in a few years. Let Smalville run its course -take a year break after that and then reboot the whole Superman franchise starting fresh. This is what would be best - not what I want but it would be best!

Have a sequel with less lifting of heavy objects and more fight of stronge baddies.

it should win the majority votes to say the option is good. majority i meant is > 70%

I hope a sequel. Nevertheless I agree with Rob-El ; minors changes could be made and make it a little more close to the comicbook wouldn't hurt I think.

NO REBOOT! Actually this is exactly what killed superman returns. The movie was not so bad but there was nothing new to learn from. After 20 years people were hopping to see something new. Singer is still a very good director he has a lot of potential, he just made the wrong decision. Again I strongly suggest Not to continue with Lex. I like lex very good villain but lex is killing superman. We are to dependent of that character, this is the fifth movie with Lex that s enough! Lets try other villains! So YES I WANT A SEQUEL

We can try other villains but Lex can be interesting in a more limited basis and as head of Lexcorp.

I cant really answer this with out knowing what singer has in mind for the sequel.

If he's gonna have a couple of supervillains in it besides Lex, with huge fight scenes, etc etc, then I would have to say continue on with the sequel.

But, if he has more of the same in mind for the sequel, with no supervillains, the same level of action, then i'd have to say reboot the mother.
