And to think that JJJ got banned for something tamer than this.
Was it really? That's... The thing is, G2K was already banned, and if all JJJ did was essentially call a spade a spade then, I just... Look, I am as boilerplate liberal as the next guy, and sure, this is just a forum where we discuss entertainment, so, it's really not that important however... It seems that there is a lot of clamping down with some posters that make pretty innocuous, though blunt, but still true statements about other posters and yet we all know of total nut jobs, trolls, the generally unhinged or all purpose misanthropes that seem to just go on unimpeded for years and years. And that's just the truth, but it's like we can't just say that.
I don't even know what I meant with all that, it's just there are many posters I see that from the moment they showed up the colors they fly are as clear as day. They are not here for discussion, community, fun or anything else. They are here because they want a platform for their misanthropy, insanity or general asshatery (not a word, I know). These people are the cause of A LOT of rancor around here. And I don't mean heated debates ect., I mean exactly that, those posters from day one are pretty much here to annoy and stir the pot. I did not see that with JJJ outside of perhaps the Politics area. 95% of the time (BS, made up number, natch) JJJ was just a coolish dude. Sure, he could go toe to toe with the best "debaters" here, if he was passionate about something or had a personal offense, but mostly just a fan of things wanting to talk with other fans about stuff he liked. If he went "over the line" with discussing G2K I somehow doubt it would be far from the truth about her time here on the Hype, as she really did come off as a person with mental issues. That's just it though... "mental issues" is a nice way of saying something else, and I am sure JJJ's banning has to do with language harsher than that... Still though... There would be MORE than enough evidence to back up a more blunt statement if one wanted to make one in regards to G2K.
I often in the past have always remarked that the mods here have an unenviable job. It's got to be worse than herding cats. And I like that for the most part the system here works, even if it means putting up with certain moderators exercising a heavy hand, since the alternative is going the way of many an other forum out there... I really appreciate the job the mods do, but sometimes recently I wondered if it goes too far with clamping down on the forums, and that (shudder) maybe posters like Sawyer are right about the NFL like "no touchdown dance" type moderating. Maybe JJJ did go over a line... But I doubt what he posted about a banned member no less, was really so egregious that he had to be taken onto the shores of the Gotham river in the middle of winter and given the choice of "death, or exile".
Sorry to throw a curve in the thread, I just having interacted with the two know of JJJ or G2K, which one I would keep around and which one would have been shown the door years ago.
