Very true. TLS is missing at least a dozen scenes. You might have had a decent movie then too.

Considering the size of the cast, there's going to be a lot of "what do we do about Jean?" scenes between all the other characters.

The size of the cast in the X-Men movies since X3 has been something completely irrelevant, there's a lot of hype for characters being introduced, but they normally end up being background players and having Simon Kinberg front and center of deciding the size of said cast and which new characters to include just informs us that there's gonna be a lot of cameos and "Oh that's who he's supposed to be!" moments, in other words the size of the cast will be the least of Jean's story's problem in X-MP.

To prove my point: "Arclight use your shockwaves, target those weapons" was the only line in The Last Stand that named the character, and exposited her powers, so worst case scenario we'll get a "Dazzler turn sound into light and distract the aliens!" and that will be it.

The deals that Marvel signed back in the 90s provided their production partners (Sony, Fox & Universal) with a % share of royalties from movie based merchandising revenue. Thats a sad reality, those 3 should really have a bond being that they started together. Its something that I hope is explored a bit more in Dark Phoenix.

I can't be the only one who is sick to death of seeing the Phoenix Saga. How many different versions of this are going to be in the movies/cartoons? At this point, I feel like they have this vast array of X-men stories to tell and characters to reveal, but we just keep getting the exact same stories and characters over and over again.

They didn't have time to develop actual relationships between the other characters. That would have cut some of Wolverine's spotlight and goodness knows they weren't about to do that!

These are facts which is a reason im glad hes not in the franchise right now,now they need to do the same to Mags and Raven so they can focu on the XMen. I feel eventually they may go the way of comics and bring in Hudson, Wolverines son.

I can't be the only one who is sick to death of seeing the Phoenix Saga. How many different versions of this are going to be in the movies/cartoons? Im not tired of it yet though your right they have done it basically in every cartoon they make but im looking forward to them doing it right on the big screen. It is such an iconic story and fans just want it done right. I was hoping they started with Proteus first to bring back Moira and really give us a character driven movie with depth kind of scaled back, help to build the relationships in this version and then move on to Dark Phoenix of course introducing Mastermind proper.

I'm skeptical about this:

1- Don't want to see Xavier, Mystique, Magneto and Beast stealing the show, they already had 3 movies as the main characters, how about others characters?

2- I'm not sure if they have the a good visual effect team to make a space movie. Guardians of the Galaxy 1 and 2 had some amazing visual effects in space I'm not sure that Fox can do it.

3. I wonder if Cyclops will lead the x-men finally. The only x-men movie that Cyclops was the leaver of the x-men was x-men 1 in 2000, 17 years ago.

4. Can they handle it visual effects better this time? A lot of people felt like the visual effects in x-men apocalypse weren't all that great.

5. The characterization of some characters are not done properly. I really hope that now that Psylocke is in X-Men Dark Phoenix they show her powers properly, she has both telekinesis and telepathy, show her using her freaking telepathy. Also, Jean Grey telekinesis is really really powerful, I'd like to see her lifting something big and heavy like Magneto did in all movies.

6. This movie has to be a 3 hours movie or else it will be like X-Men Apocalypse that got lots of important scenes cut like Cyclops and Havok talking in their home before arriving at the school, Storm talking to Xavier their reasons to join Apocalypse, Moira arresting William, the mall scene, a lot of good stuff got cut for the movie to get short. It has been proved that if the movie is good the audience will watch no matter what and many times, LOTR.

i am hige skepptic because it's kinberg left to his own devices as sole writer and director but let me address the points

1-xavier defently will have important role.as for beast he really didn't have that important of role in dofp and apocalypse.rumor is magneto and mystique have smaller roles than expected.i agree film should focus heavy on jean and cyclops

2-of course dark phoenix can have good looking effects.remember this film wraps in october and they have a year before film opens november 2 2018

3-hopefully cyclops can be a leader.that is why hopefully magneto indeed is ruling genosha.and mystique is at his side.

4-of course they need to do better than apocalypse on visual effects

5-charazion is all on kinberg.that is question mark

I loved that scene thats some great storytelling lol. I thoroughly enjoyed Morrison's run on the XMen he made me love Emma how he captured her so well and then he brought in Cassandra. Im here for Cassandra being introduced down the line.
