Magneto didn't say second in command but he said he needed someone to fill a gap in his life. He and professor x just parted way and it looked like he was looking for a new partner or a 2nd in command kinda like Professor X. And he offered Emma Frost to fill that gap for him. And judging by Emma's reaction, it felt like she went along with him.

It's just going to be odd to have her in the first film then just disappear. If anything, if Singer wasn't happy with Jones' performance, I would stomach a recast as long as Emma stayed.

Bryan has said there will be absolutely no filler in this film: every character will have a specific purpose and pivotal role in the storyline.

Clearly, Emma's inclusion wouldn't have enhanced the storyline as it is now. So apparently, her absence isn't going to be as jarring as some of us may be stating here.

Well, perhaps if January Jones could act worth a damn she would have found herself being a part of this film.

She was given the lines of a stereotypical dumb blonde so what else is she expected to do?

the thing is many viewers/fans thought her performance was bland, even with those lines. But I think that's part of Matthew's fault, since he was the director.

I think Matthew hadnt a clear idea about what makes Emma such a badass character, and I guess he was happy with January's scenes.

The end scene was more about Magneto than it was about Emma Frost.

Right now his only army is Mystique. Great improvement, definetly, lol

There Is reason the first Class supporting cast was dropped.We just don't know why yet.

It's been 10 years, Emma joined Magneto and possibly had a fall out and therefore took Azazel, Angel, Riptide with her to form another Hellfire club. Magneto then recruited new mutants.

Havok and Banshee grew up and moved on with their girlfriends.

I don't think it is difficult to explain at all.

I don't mind if they recast Ben Foster. I'm shallow when it comes to guys and I prefer a more good-looking actor for Angel.

Actually no. For casual viewers who aren't aware of Emma Frost in the comics. They didn't mind her.

I don't care if I'm being superficial. Plus Angel is charming, confident and handsome in the comics. Ben Foster's portrayal of Angel in X3 wasn't even close to that.

Its not all about the talent especially when you're portraying a character from a comic-book. Looks should also count.

Anna Paquin already appeared in three movies as Rogue and actually had a role in the movies. Ben Foster only appeared in 1 movie and he didn't really have a big role in that 1. So I wouldn't mind if they recast Ben Foster.
