X-Men Origins: Wolverine Official Thread

Was that actual gameplay between Wolvie and Gambit? 'Coz I'm bothered by the camera--it kept changing angles. I wished they just have a fixed camera like in GOW. ...Or you can control the camera while playing...

I think that was more for cinematic effect for the trailer. The lead developer has stated you'll have full control over the camera.

Stop the latest video at 1:06. You can see on the monitor several character models, one of them who looks black and red, holding two swords. Could that be Deadpool? Of course there are several characters who are holding two swords, so they could just be enemy variations.

It'd be great if they had comic costumes for the other characters as well as Wolverine. Deadpool in his costume would work much better with my brown-and-tan Wolverine. :)

That's good to know. Just wish this wasn't a tie-in, we would probably had a demo by now if it wasn't...

Love the idea of Wolvie picking up a fallen enemy's gun and shooting other enemies or bash them with it; yes he has claws but it adds variety to the game imo.
I prefer being true to the character over some variety. Plus, I want them to focus on his physical combat, and not waste time on guns. I want the claws to feel perfect, and know they didn't spend a single second on gun combat. Maybe it's just me, but if I had adamantium claws, a lunge move, and a healing factor, I'd just bumrush the **** out of everyone. Wolvie using rifles is like Flash driving sports cars, it's an un-needed step down.

And I know the trailers show Logan with a rifle, but I'd prefer to not use one in the game.

I saw a video of the gamestop exclusive danger room things and I'm afraid I'm going to have to buy this game now. It actually looks really fun, like Marvel Ultimate Alliance was but even better.

yea i dont think you will be actively shooting anyone in the game, but one of Logan's combos has him taking a rifle out of an enemies hands and using it. I'm sure he'll discard the rifle once he's offed his opponent.

There's also a part in a video I've seen where you are on a boat and you can grab the boat's turret and shoot at another boat.

There should be an achievement/trophy for making it through the game using only guns. Call it "Gears of Wolverine" or something. :)

yea i saw that too, but i meant i dont think youll be grabbing a rifle and ducking between cover, Gears style, dispatching enemies.

Cant wait to see some of the achievements, I'm sure there is gonna be some great dismemberment achievements.

yeah...but do you really think Wolverine would need to duck into cover? I mean, their could be moments where there are just so many gun weilding foes that you need to be more strategic with how you take them out...and a gun could be used to dwindle down their numbers before lunging in...but Wolverine is a damn beast! screw guns...i want to lung in and tear them all to shreds! and besides, we already have so many games where you can use guns galore...

Exactly! Which is why i never felt the dev's needed to add that. Sure Logan is skilled with firearms, but dammit, he has adamantum claws and thats what ima use!!

The whole concept of a Wolverine video game or being a character in a game itself is totally moot considering he can't be killed.

ah...but Wolverine can be incapacitated after taking too much damage...as is how this game works. If you take too much damage, your vitals become exposed...If you take too much damager to your vitals, than you pass out which = game over.

And if you are seriously arguing that a Wolverine game should be made due to the fact that he pretty much indestructable...well, i can honestly say that you should just be quiet. Just because you can't die in a game doesn't mean their can't be a challenge and fun to be had. All in all, I 100% disagree with you.

Yeah, we just had a video game where you couldn't die at all--Prince of Persia. They devised other penalties for being really, really terrible at that game, just as they've done for this Wolverine game. Unkillable (which Wolverine is not, but that's another story) does not mean unstoppable.

The more i see and hear of this game the more i am getting closer to pre-ordering it.

do you think if you do die instead of regenerating at a checkpoint you have to win a sword fight with Azrael the angel of death to continue. I'm jk, but that actually would be kind of interesting in a game.
