X-Men Origins: Wolverine Official Thread

Oh okay. That makes sense.

Which is alot better than it just being in one version.

And certainly points to how easy it would be to just add other costumes.

Look at it this way: Burnout Paradise launched with different "exclusive" cars from Circuit City, Best Buy, Gamestop, and I think some other places, but the only thing that was different about the game was that it came with a different code you could input to get that store's car. I currently have all of the store-exclusive cars in my game because the internet is a wonderful thing. :)

Whoa...I have Burnout Paradise. I could use those codes...

And yeah, I think the same happened with Far Cry 2, where pre-ordering it at Gamestop would get you exclusive missions.

But I was able to get them to, because like you said...the internet is truly a wonderful thing.

I think it is the worst idea in the world to have exclusives for certain stores. What is the point of it? Just have one version without the exclusives already on it, then another with the exclusives. Simple.

True.

But being able to find the codes online and implement them into your game and unlock them yourself...makes up for it I think.

The point is that the stores want your money.

Also, if it were true that you could only get the Classic 80-90's costume by buying it from Best Buy...then Raven Software would be ***** for saying that it was available in the game without meantioning that "but only from Best Buy"...which I completely doubt is the case.

Hey Guys,A guy I know who works at my local EB games got to play it the other day... He's a total movie game cynic, but he told me he ended up playing it for like 6 hours, when he only thought he'd get 5 minutes into it... Apparently the fighting is awesome. He said the gore in it was awesome, like being able to cut dudes into three pieces, and that the lunge attack is so much more than just one move... You press the lunge button, and then depending on what button you press as you make contact with the enemy, the move is different (which reminded me of the 'webstrike' from Web of Shadows)... I dunno if that makes it a good game or not though... This guy has pretty good taste in games, but who knows... I didn't want to ask too many questions, in case my total nerdiness started to show lol. (All I want is a button to sheath or unsheath my claws!!! Is that too much to ask?!?)By the way, i'm totally aware that this info is extremely minimal compared to a review or a playthrough, but I just thought this related to the reports of people getting the game early. I thought there was a rule (or at least this is the case in Australia) that if one store releases a game early, every other store has to follow suit. They did that with Fear 2 here... I missed out because it came out a week early! I was so pissed off! (Until I found out it sucked balls)

Oh, I just remembered the words he used to describe them, which I thought were a really good way of looking at it.

He said "it was like playing 'God of War'. You felt like such a bad ass, it didn't matter how big the enemy was, or how small you were, you knew you were gonna kick it's arse have fun doing it."

I reckon that's a pretty good quote lol. He also said there was a charge attack, where if you press a button just when the claws glint and sparkle, you do a gnarly violent move. That bit sounds a bit too similar to Afro Samurai for me. Mind you, the combat in Afro Samurai was alright, it was just everything else AROUND it that made my brain hurt... Bad memories

I wonder what kind of moves you'll be able to do without the claws. It'd be cool if it were possible to go through the game without killing anyone.

OMG!!!!

Okay, I don't know if anyone's seen this, (probably, and I apologise, but it's so cool you can watch it again!) it's a demo of the bonus rooms, but the violence and the combat look absolutely amazing! I am actually stunned!

Pre-ordering this game was a goooooooooood move. (also, he has unsheathed claws in bits, further proof of a manual 'Snikt!') Next week can not come fast enough dammit!

Haha yea those are some cool vids. It has been confirmed that you can manually "pop the claws". It doesn't change the combat tho. Like there aren't any special combos with the claws sheathed.

I'm gonna probably try a non-lethal game at some point, then. The claws will never come out. I'll call it my "'90s X-Men cartoon" experiment. Wolverine never stabbed a damn thing in that series, he just popped the claws for emphasis when he was being obnoxious to people. :)

Non-Claw combos don't bother me, as long as I can Snikt whenever I want, just so I can get that awesome Wolverine feeling when I see some enemies coming.... "I'm the best at what I do, and What I do ain't pretty.....SNIKT!

*Sigh* I love being a nerd... such simple pleasures

I wanna be able to pop two claws and then say to an enemy "Guess what happens next".

Hmmm, never gonna happen :(

Yeah...I've seen it, and I don't understand why it isn't up on Gametrailers.com or IGN...because everyone whose seen that video apparently goes and preorders the game...That's what sold me, and several other people I've read on these forms and the gamefaq.com forums.
