X-Men - Part 2

*sigh*

I'm waiting for something in this wonderful new direction to actually be wonderful or even mildly likable.

I love the idea, I just wish it wasn't Wolverine doing it. But it's still fitting as Jean was going to be the Headmistress of Xavier's school before she died so it's coming full circle. And it's kinda nice to have a school back, while still having Utopia, which I like.

She wasnt going to be...she was the headmistress of the school

That is the stupidest thing I've ever seen. Oh boy, now logan's the team leader, headmaster, master strategist, and best fighter in all the x-men worldddddddddddd.

Dude's not wolverine anymore, he's captain america now.

It would have made more sense to have Beast re-open the school. Plus it plays at Morrison's "Here Comes Tomorrow" story a bit. There Beast became Sublime after a failed attempt to keep the school open.

Lol at Wolverine opeing up a new school in Jeans name, being head master and teacher. Guess they didnt think that Wolverine cant be a good headmaster and keep going off on so many different books.

When is Uncanny X-Men starting back at #1? I heard its in the near future

i would not mind seeing Wolverine try for awhile but then ask Beast to come in and help with some of the harder school functions

That's how it worked in the cartoon. Most sensible thing about the cartoon, basically.

I hope logan becomes a photographer at the daily bugle and then makes a costume of armour. That'd be cool.

who came first, the Church of Humanity or the Purifiers? were the Purifiers in 'God Loves Man Kills'?

I might actually pick up Wolverine and the X-Men. Along with Ultimate Comics: X-Men, this is the first time in years I've bought any X-books.

Church of Humanity came first by a few years (I think it was in Casey's short run of Uncanny and then followed up with by Chuck Austin after him). William Stryker was in God Loves Man Kills but he hadn't formed the Purifiers yet. They came decades later in the Childhood's End arc of New X-Men, when all the students began dying.

At least, that's to the best of my memory... which isn't always the most dependable thing.

Actually the Purifiers came first and debuted in God Loves Man, Kills

Did they? I remember Stryker had minions but I was thinking they weren't dubbed Purifiers. Then again, I've only read it once or twice and it's been around a decade ago or so. Great story though

I told you my memory isn't the most dependable thing :)

Yeah the very first page of the thing had a female minion say "We are Purifiers" as she and the others killed a couple of mutant children.

I remember the scene but not the name. Oh well... I really need to go out and get that again. I really did love that story.

Good thing you guys know what's going on, I can't even remember what I read last week half the time. :p

Somewhat muted ending to schism but I liked it over all.

Did Wolverine just
kidnap Quintin Quire?

I hope them Hellfire Kids get a ass kicking

Just finished reading schism 05....def not the ending I expected. All this "tear the x-men apart" nonsense didn't really ring true for me. It was more like a truce or an uncomfortable peace that ended up happening. In a way I kind of feel like that uneasy tension that used to exist between logan and scott is back but it's nothing that won't be done away with after a few years....
