X-Men - Part 2

yeah i felt the same. i guess i was expecting Logan to leave on more sour terms. i believed Logan's position in this fight, but the final dialogue between them two really sounded soft for him and i thought i was listening to Ororo or Hank. overall though i enjoyed this story and im eager for Regenesis.

I liked the ending and that the kids were the cause of the rift. It was the fight between Wolverine and Cyclops and its build up that I thought was rediculous and out of character.

And while it's funny that Wolverine stole Kid Omega, couldn't Omega have just telepathically told Cyclops or something if he wanted to?

thats assuming he'd want to.

I love these little f--ks!

I'm really happy with the ending of Schism. When I first heard about this split I didn't like it because I really didn't want members of the X-men to hate each other and fight a la Civil War. But it actually turned out to be a respectful split over a valid disagreement. Whether or not it stays this way is another matter, though.

Two compliments I'll give part 5 is the art was great and the Cyclops/Wolverine fight was brutal too.

thats bc one of the greatest X-artists Kubert finally returned. He needs to be drawing more X-related projects

As I get caught up on more X-Men stuff I have to say that Rob Williams work on Uncanny X-Force's Fear Itself mini was astounding. He's the current writer of both Daken Dark Wolverine and Ghost Rider. If and when Remender decides to move on from UXF, Williams in my mind is a shoe in for next writer. His version of Deadpool is very much in line with what Remender does with the character. I'd love to see more of his work in the X-Men area of Marvel. Anybody else read the mini?

Another book that I'm caught up on is Gischler's X-Men, which had been really up and down. The Lee Forester/Skull the Slayer/FF arc, I'm not gonna lie, was pretty good. I liked especially the Doom/Magneto stuff and overall how well the two teams worked together. The story flowed incredibly well, this was solid work by Gischler. One thing that slightly bugged me was how easily Doom gave up the orb at the end but his parting shot to Magneto at the end about heroism more than made up for it.

im pretty much decided im dropping Gischler's X-Men. the stories have ranged from "ok" to "bleh" and i dont really care to read a book about the X-Men + the MU flavor of the week anymore. i dont see myself continuing Carey's "Rogue and the X-Men" after this current arc either.

Gambit wasn't in the last arc of X-men and I don't think he is going to stay. I bought my last issue of that. :(

You do know that Carey is leaving Legacy right? The new writer may not have the same obsession with her

Since August. Regenesis is his final arc. The new creative team hasnt been announced yet

Acclaimed writer Mike Carey presents the final arc of his six year X-Men epic this November, alongside superstar artist Khoi Pham

do we know if the book will hang on to the roster shown? or if it has a new mission statement?

I guess that all depends on what the new writer wants to do. He or she may not have the same affinity for the charactetrs Carey is using and end up tweaking the cast

Where is X-23? I cant remember what side of the posters she stood on, or did she not appear?

She's on a world tour in her own solo, currently teaming with FF and Spidey. Next up she is joining Avengers Academy. We all know that's not for good. She be with Logan on WATXM by the time it hits issue 7 or 8.

i dont think she was there at all. i suppose of its changing teams i can stick it out for one more arc. i just hope its a short one.

I think I put the article up in X-23's thread on the X-Comics board, but the gist of it was that she'd be branching out from the X-Men on her own for awhile.

So Wolverine is the heir to Xavier's dream and Cyclops is following Magneto's? hell of a twist in terms of the big picture, I like it.

Schism #5 was good stuff. It would've been better had it been drawn by Alan Davis instead of a rushed Adam Kubert.

Davis is prepping for a run on Captain America. And that's Kubert's style, it's been the same look since the 90's. It looked pretty darn solid.

No, Adam Kubert has had cleaner looking days.

The most important pages are clean, for the most part, akin to his days doing Ultimate X-Men, let's say. But his action, and most of the middle, of Schism #5 is sloppy. And even going back to my first sentence here, his cleanest work consists of single-face panels.

This issue isn't some of his better work.

I would laugh if Marvel gave Legacy to Chris Claremont :o

It's a shame to see Carey go. He was the last solid writer on a core X-title with a premise that didn't make me roll my eyes.
