What did Illyana do to make Scott keep her imprisoned and Kitty not to trust her?

It was confusing. Something about gambling all life as we know it to get her soul back.

Or I could be remembering that completely wrong. I really didn't enjoy that story so I didn't retain much of it.

She manipulated the X-men into helping her get revenge on the Elder Gods and in doing so put the entire unvise in jeopardy of being erased. These daemonic gods were at the core of the horrible things that happened to her when she was in Limbo and she was obsessed with destroying them. She brought back Legion to help her do this even though he was psycho and had the power to end all reality. She lied and told the X-men about Ulysses's plot and Project Purgatory, using that as a front to get her revenge but she never had any intention of stopping him. I defiently think Scott's initial distrust of her was justified considering all she did but I feel she's more than made up for it. She didnt have a soul back then but she's since regained most of it and isnt as reckless and unremorseful

As for Kitty, she blames Illyana for her losing her boyfriend. She feels that if it wasnt for Illyana, Piotr would have never chosen to become Juggernaut, effetively ending their relationship. He's super attached to his sister and chose her over Kitty. Kitty hates her for it

There is something inherently wrong about choosing a sister over a girlfriend. Especially when that girlfriend is Kitty Pryde.

Not necessarily. That's Pete's baby sister and the only living family he has left (not counting the illegitimate child he doesn't know about), and he's always been very protective of her. I know plenty of people who'd put family before a lover.

Isn't that another reason why Kitty dumped Colossus - she feels he's living in denial about the fact that his sister is not a sweet, innocent little kid anymore but a dangerous young woman but he's either too dumb or too stubborn to see that?

Its sad bc Illyana used to be her best friend but now Kitty wants absolutely nothing to do with her. Kitty does tend to have alot of BFFs. Illyana, Doug, Rachel....its like when one dies, she latches onto the next. I still dont think she's even had an onpanel reunion with Doug since his return

Well, if Colossus can't grow up and get some healthy space between himself and his sister he's probably not good for Kitty or any other woman.

I dont think Kitty is worrying too much. She has Iceman to keep her busy :D

Wait, since when did Colossus have an illegitimate child?

Isn't Iceman like 35 by now? Did Marvel even allow Kitty to grow up beyond 18? It's hard to tell sometimes with the art. I guess it doesn't matter since the X-franchise is built on crack pairings anyway. :cwink:

Kitty is somewhere between 18 and 21, I think. Iceman is the same age as Spider-Man, placing him in his mid-late 20's. Even Cyclops is only about 30 at this point.

The different "generations" of X-Men give you the impression that there's this huge age gap between them, but the Original 5 X-Men are only 10-15 years older than the current crop of teenagers. Generation X members Jubilee and M are adults but probably not beyond 20, and the New Mutants are all in their early 20's.

Iceman is like 30 give or take a year or 2. Kitty is about 22ish by now. The age difference isnt that huge. He was the youngest of the original 5 and I would say the gap is 10 years at the most. Probably closer to about 8

in a perfect world... (though kitty is probably in her mid 20s by now, I don't think she's that young) but then again, frankin richards hasn't aged much at all.. while his friends the Power Pack are now young adults... so.... the MU is all messy with ages.

Iceman/Human Torch/ Spidey... are currently stuck in "forever 28" it seems

Didn't the Human Torch come back from the dead much older?

One thing that irks me about the Richards children is how they're drawn at roughly the same age/size. Franklin is a pre-teen and Val is like 3.

he should be the age Johnny was when he joined the team now...

Much like Japanese anime. Ms. Marvel/Carol Danvers looks to be at least 30 but entertainment industry age prejudices being what they I imagine the Marvel guys peg her as 23 because we all know the US Military is loaded 23 year old Majors. :whatever:

More like stuck in "forever 21".

In fairness, superheroes who started out as adults seem to be allowed to age. Reed Richards, Ben Grimm, and Bruce Banner are well into their 40's. Dr Strange is probably pushing 50 at least.

Eh. Most of the core heroes have at least aged 10-15 years since their conception. The original teen heroes of the sixties are now in their late 20s

Did he? Bc he looks the same age to me

They commented on it but all the artists have continued to draw him the same age as Spiderman. He only aged 3 additional years where everyone was to have aged only one. Not exactly easy to draw. Basically they made him bigger but by keeping his old behavior(kinda like how Doom was supposed to no longer be arrogant but so damn powerful and mature that his hard on for Reed was supposed to be over) they still made him seem the same.

I can't wait for Wolverine and everyone to bow down before Cyclops when they find out her was right. Hopefully Cyclops will show mercy to the traitors as he shoots Wolverine off a cliff.

But I am a little iffy about Cyclops whole messiah thing. Maybe needs a break when he goes back to his throne.

Let's be honest here folks. Xavier has probably been running the show ever since he got his legs working again. He never really gave up controlling the X-men. He just has more patience then Magneto.

QFT

You really should put family first in cases where they are all you have left and you are not married / made a serious commitment to someone else.

It would be / should be selfish and out of character for Katherine to want Peter to abandon his remaining relative to keep Kitty happy/content/in the mix.

Shame on all of youse.

For me original X-Men like Cyclops or Angel are early to mid 30s.
New Mutants mid twenties.
Generation X - late teens early twenties.

Basically from Charles Xavier recruiting the original five X-Men to right now is about 15 years.

Variant cover to X-treme X-men 1 starring Dazzler, Captain Howlett, Emmeline Frost, and Kid Nightcrawler
