Sequels X-Men Reboot

Should the X-Men film franchise be rebooted?

  • Yes, reboot it! Doesn't matter who or how.

  • Yes, but only if Marvel has the rights.

  • No, Fox is doing just fine. Let them keep popping out sequels.

  • I don't care. X-Men are X-Men.

Man, there are so many release dates that I don't know if these are new or just being rescheduled.

Yeah, the CBM landscape has changed to the point where I just don't think Fox has what it takes to keep up.

It depends on what your expectations are. A billion? Then no, it won't keep up. But Apocalypse showed some tremendous resilience in China, when faced with the behemoth opening of Warcraft. I think the brand has room to grow in China, while it may stagnate elsewhere.

It has also been a weird year domestically. Dr. Strange may be the first movie to make between $200 and $300 domestically. And we are in Nov.

If your expecting X-Men to make a billion then yes it will always be a disappointment.

hmm there some poster I really do want to address and more on what i have say for my self that has experience racism at young age like during kindergarten of all places, as black kid growing up and having extended family members of biracial family's from my fathers side and what x-men has been to me .

And where I think they should fit in the MCU movie verse cause I feel now with what's been going down in the united states of late the X-men's message is needed more then but they need to have a new direction and just souly on them. there are other off shoot's of >>>Humanity<<< with in the MCU which should be use as representatives of other race's in real life in a allegory sense and the X-men place should be how to help represent that as well as the mutant race and for Racism to stop or something be fought against.

all cause of what was said with the Celestial's make this happen.

History
The scope of this article is to discuss the history of the Eternals of Earth. For more information on other Eternal races please refer to the specific page for that race (Kree, Skrulls etc.)

Origins

During their First Host on Earth, one million years ago,[2] the Celestials collected the Wanderers,[14] a tribe of Homo erectus.[11]
Gammenon the Gatherer collected the ape-men and send them to Ziran the Tester who mutated them to have an unstable genome, creating the Deviants[10] (Homo descendus),[15] a race with various mutations, who were then released and went hiding in the caves. With other subjects, Nezarr the Calculator then created the Eternals[10] (Homo immortalis),[2] hairless, upright tall beings able to tap into the cosmic power. They were themselves released, flying out of the Celestials' laboratory-ship. Finally, Oneg the Prober created a latent gene for the expansion of human potential

what I'll say is in This is how they will be unique still be more inclusive .

but I will have to do ether tomorrow or the day after cause sadly I came back late and may not be in the right mind set to address the people I want to for a long term conversation when I do address them . and I want to be fully under stood and not have misunderstandings and be on good terms with posters here. Hopefully I'll be able to do that and get my message across.

No. Recently an interview with Ryan and one of the screenwriters, pretty much said it that it's their own thing, and don't want to merge that much with the world of X-Men.

OK, they dont want to merge with others x-men characters, but actually Deadpool is a part of retconned timeline. If we reboot this universe, what does it matter

Deadpool including in actual Xmovieverse (old timeline erased by new timeline in 1973) or in a rebooted universe

Or just leave them separate?

Plan seems to be is to do X-Men and new mutants in the past and deadpool and X-force In near future.

With jackman out the door the main reason which keep fox from rebooting is gone.

After Logan fox has 4 poential X related films In the work not counting Gambit which may or may not happen

New Mutants
Deadpool 2
rumored X-Men:Dark Phoenix film
Deadpool 3:X-Force

if new mutants or X-Men:Dark phoenix is seen as disappointment fox may
reboot everything after deadpool 3.

Man, there are so many release dates that I don't know if these are new or just being rescheduled.

An overview of the Fox/Marvel adaptations' release dates:

March 3rd, 2017: Logan
March 2nd, 2018: Untitled Fox/Marvel film (New Mutants is rumored to be slated for a spring 2018 release)
June 29th, 2018: Untitled Fox/Marvel film (Deadpool 2?)
November 2nd, 2018: Untitled Fox/Marvel film (Gambit?)
February 14th, 2019: Untitled Fox/Marvel film

Or maybe Deadpool 2 will get the March 2018 slot, and New Mutants is released in June? We'll see!

considering i will believe gambit when i see it which is how i used to think of deadpool I suspect the june 2018 release was moved to november and is Deadpool 2.as for what the february 2019 film is we have 2 opotions 1:gambit or 2:X-Men:The dark Phoenix.

Kinberg is writing next X film so it's not a strech it could happen by then.Plus February or march may be the new time to release X related films.

As of now, it seems like Fox is keeping the June 29th release. And if they're really releasing three Marvel movies in 2018, I think they're going to be New Mutants, Deadpool 2 and Gambit.

I could see the 2019 release being either a new X-Men movie, or X-Force. Which (the short time gap between the Deadpool sequel and possibly this) could be why they're looking for a different director, instead of keeping David Leitch?

Of course I'm just wildly speculating.

Untill we get an official director again for gambit and an announced release date my attitude is I will believe gambit when i see it.

If New mutants,Deadpool 2,and gambit are all In 2018 then X-Men film is defently the 2019 film.February 2019 seems too close to release Deadpool 3 so soon after deadpool 2.november 2019 yes.

While I doubt Fox would go this route, I still think one way to introduce Gambit would be through the Mutant Massacre and have him working for Sinister.

I'm actually very interested in his solo outing, and would rather have him be introduced this way.

My guess is that the two newly announced slots are the only ones that are active, and will be filled by Deadpool 2 and New Mutants, respectively.

Considering that the newly announced slots are November 2nd, 2018 and February 14th, 2019, and that The New Mutants is reportedly being released in spring 2018, it doesn't really add up.

I think there's more than New Mutants and Deadpool 2 cooking at Fox, even though we know nothing about it yet. And keep in mind that especially for the late 2018 and early 2019 slots there's a strong possibility that we're talking about movies early in development, which don't have a set director yet (i.e. Gambit).

The March 2018 and June 2018 slots seem more likely to be for Deadpool 2 and New Mutants.

Given that Deadpool has a new director and New Mutants may serve as sorta/kinda a retooling of the X-Men franchise, I wouldn't be surprised if FOX gave themselves additional lead time for both films. Gambit:The Movie could be dead and the follow up to Apocalypse (X:Men in Space?) may be a few years away. I could see FOX doing Deadpool 2 and X:Force in consecutive years, but I don't see the studio filling all of those slots

It has just been reported TODAY that The New Mutants is aiming for a spring 2018 release. So it's probably either the March or June slot for Josh Boone's movie.

Deadpool 2 is a candidate for either the March, June or November slot, depending on how much the production has been set back by the director change.

The 2019 release is probably something else.

The March release date is still technically the Winter and is coming up quickly. And June is right in the middle of the summer season, an awfully tough slot for a new franchise. I don't see either of the spots as great for New Mutants. We shall see.

we know Kinberg is writing next X-men film and fox is hoping to get Mcavoy,Fassbender, and Lawrence back for next X-Men film which is rumored
to be based on dark phoenix so new mutants is not a rebranding of X-Men

The wild card in guessing is gambit.

New Mutants is the march 2018 release.Deadpool 2 will get eather june or november release. If gambit gets director soon very possable it's the november 2018 film and deadpool 2 gets the june 2018 spot

I actually think that March would be a pretty good spot for New Mutants, and that after the worldwide success the original had, Deadpool 2 could do great in summer, as well.

Yup. That's my take on it, as well.

Logan, Deadpool 2, New Mutants, X-Force, a new X-Men sequel. Damn, the future of the X-Men movies start to look glorious.

Well, if you get someone to look over the script that Kinberg writers or even get someone like a Chris Claremont or someone similar to offer their take on the X-Men for the main films, I would fully agree. I like everything else, and yes, Kinberg did write Days of Future Past, but him being the writer for the next main film after Apocalypse, with no word on director yet, is the one thing that gives me pause.

Did they come up with a reason to change characters ages?

Anyway it depends really since 2 things wolverine gets from weapon X, his metal claws and the loss of his memory, now do you find another reason for him to gain these things again? or do you skip say the memory loss which could take away something from the character.

Here Kinberg says that in the new timeline characters can be born earlier than they were in the original trilogy. This is justification for using characters like Angel and Jubilee but maybe even Scott and the others.

Apocalypse is the only film I can think of that they deliberately place a character'set age. Scott's teacher says that the students in the class were probably 7 years old during the events of DoFP.

Here Singer says that there's a clean slate going forward and anything is possible. Things could happen very differently than what we know from the original trilogy.

Having read this before seeing Apocalypse I was disappointed by how familiar every thing was.

I think there were many possibilities for Logan:

Wolverine is one of the horse men. Apocalypse gives him adamantium.

Stryker doesn't run Weapon X program. We get a new film that is a faithful adaptation of the classic story.

Wolverine doesn't get adamantium in the new timeline. Sabretooth goes under the process instead.

I really hope we don't see Wolverine seeking out his past again. It's been done to death. It's time for something new.

X_force is deadpool 3.

as for those who worry doing dark phoenix is redoing something from OT did anyone like phoenix from last stand?

we might even get Gambit but that is i i will believe it when i see it.

I could see the next X-Men movie being out in 2019, i don't think they will make it 2018 because i think they will give it a year break this time.

My guess is that new mutants will be out in 2018 sometime and the next X-Men movie will be out in 2019
