I had #1 for 3 weeks now, can't get myself to read it, but i had Identity crisis for 3 hrs and i read it twice, Any ways if any one cares, what are your thoughts about it and convince me to read it

Meh. You'll never guess what happens.
Phoenix returns, but its not really what i was expecting. Storm is in like, and iron lung and i got the impression that her and wolverine had hooked up. Scott and Emma have a baby. :o

isnt cable scott's son from the future?

He's Scott's son, but he has already been born in the current X-Men timeline. He was sent to the future to cure him of a virus, and then returned to the present timeline. That's why he's older than Scott is now.

That's the really, really abreviated version.

wait, when did this issue come out ???

they should have left x-men the end alone after silvestri handled it in New x-men
IMO

I would agree, but I thought "Here Comes Tomorrow" was really weak. I'm not sure where this "The End" series is going, but I had trouble connecting with the first issue. I also really hated that Claremont included Slipstream, the lame-ass character from lame-ass X-Treme X-Men.

X-Men: The End wasn't that bad....the X-Men even make a cameo

Hey...who says I can't make the same sarcastic remark on two different boards?

no you don't

It's kinda too bad Claremont opted to indulge all his little "pet" X-Men elements: The Shi'ar, Phoenix, a strong female lead, Genosha, future prophecies - all the things he goes back to again and again every time he writes the book.

The last X-Men story should be an answer to the question of whether Xavier or Magneto was right - not some prophecy-filled, sci-fi soap opera with the fate of the universe hanging in the balance. Completely misses the point of the whole series, IMO. Not impressed by the Claremont wank-fest that is issue #1.

well since we havent seen the whole story how do you know it's not about Xavier or Magneto being right...this is a very long series...think of it like the Hobbit where a small plot device started the Lord of the Rings...this is just book one

Right. But the stage is set in the first chapter. The story can't go off on a completely different track, otherwise it'll be a disjointed mish-mash. I'm sure Magneto will show up in some way, but it's clear the overall story is going to involve the daughter of Bishop and Deathbird and the prophecy surrounding her - which will ultimately involve Phoenix and the Shi'ar. Those are the playing pieces on the board.

Why is that stupid? I myself am NOT a completist (I would be if it wasn't for that horrid District X series), but I can understand why one would be a completist from a collector's point of view.

Why buy comics you don't like? it's a waste of money.

taking my Hobbit analogy further...The Hobbit was about a group of Dwarfs and a hobbit trying to recover treasure.....The Lord of The Rings was about the Hobbit's relative trying to destroy the ring and a major war....two separate happenings.......X-men:the end book one is setting the stage which will go into book 2

cause it drives me crazy just having one issue of a series, and not the complete run

He's got an obsessive nature.

2 years later, this finally ended, how was it?
