xXx: The Return of Xander Cage

Holy **** I didn't see this cameo coming. Say what you will about that 2nd film but I think it's pretty cool.

Shouldve saved that... But who cares its not like it was heavily wanted

I do like that they're directly confirming that State of the Union is canon.

It's like people forgot the second movie sucked and was a total bomb.

I saw this in December - embargo is release date. If that doesn't say enough, the fact they're spoiling cameos says a lot more.

This will be the Independence Day: Resurgence of 2017. I'll post a full review upon release but whoa boy did I hate every minute of this.

Nah, this isnt like ID Resurgence. The original XXX isnt nearly as popular nor does it carry a gram of the nostalgia that Independence Day does.

There will be two types of people going to see this next weekend, those going to see it ironically in order to MST3K it, and that subset of teenagers and 20 somethings that are just acting their age.

The original XXX only did $142 million domestic and $277 million worldwide. It was just kind of riding the wave of Vin Diesel's recent success in the original Fast and the Furious.

Yeah, I'm sorry, being a terrible movie can't make this a terrible movie.

If you like Cheerios, you'll love Tastee-Os.

The only reason this movie is happening now is because Diesel is having renewed success with the Fast movies. This was supposed to his big action movie franchise in 00s, but it never got off the ground. They tried to reboot it with a different actor for the sequel and it failed miserably. Then they sought to reboot it again with Diesel back in the main role.

Am I the only one who starts laughing right away whenever they see a promo?

No you are not. Though to be fair it takes me a few seconds to realize what movie it is. That is how generic it looks.

It's the Point Break 2015 of 2017. :cwink:

LOL that line. So glad I haven't been drinking something whenever I've heard it because it would have been coming out of my nose.

I liked State Of The Union for the cheese bomb it was

and loved Dafoe as evil Secretary Of Defense, racist Marines, President quoting 2-Pac, all the criminals saving DC

its ri-goddamn-diculous

State of the Union was literally one of the worst movies I have ever seen. I'm not going to pretend like the first one was some masterpiece but it was The Godfather compared to SOTU. But I suppose it is a good movie to give the MST3K treatment.

definitely

might actually watch them both today

but I like the concept of xXx as a unit type thing

but I also think it can actually be good with the right lead

Come on, man. That scene at the end where xXx drives his car onto the traintracks, rips its tires off so he can ride the rails and then jumps onto the back of the train?

Marlon Brando couldn't have made that sh** good.

oh no no no thats unmitigated garbage

I mean the XXX concept, with a decent script and the right lead, has the potential to be good

Sure, yeah. I would actually feel like this one might have the potential to be good but... I've seen the previews. That said, I'll still watch this.
