You Have My Permission To Lounge - Part 10

I'd still be up for it, but yeah... The Nolan versions of the characters simply aren't coming back in any form.

Such a missed opportunity not keeping Bale in some form, but god, I wouldn't have wanted him working under Snyder either (With Nolan producing).

Yeah,I didn't think it would happen...now. I know there was talk a year or two after TDKR but you guys are probably right. They are too far along in the DC universe now to go back and revisit Nolan's version of Catwoman. :csad:

You can hope that Gotham would evolve her into that version of the character. :oldrazz:

I remember there was a time when the rumour mill said an agreement had been made for Bale to come back as Batman in BvS. Thank goodness that never happened. Despite my issues with TDKR, BvS and whatever else that follows would have really diluted the greatness of the TDK trilogy. Bale in the new films is one "What if.." i'm glad never happened.

I'm actually writing my own version of a Batman/Superman movie that's set after the events of TDKR and MoS. I have some rough notes on how and why events play out. I just need to start fleshing it all out.

Joker vs Thanos poll

I voted Thanos, just cause Ledger's Joker dominates these polls with a lot of ease.

I'm surprised it hasn't already been created.

That LvLeeTDK poster is likely to be the one to make it, too.

I guess someone's gonna start the dreaded TDK vs IW thread soon.
And TDK is gonna win like it always does and as it should :cwink:

I thought Infinity war was fantastic, but all 3 of Nolans Batman films are still superior if you ask me. Maybe its because im a fanboy, but that trilogy is just perfection and the pinnacle of comic book film brilliance.

There's no warrant to compare them. They're very different kinds of films. Nerds like to get into dick measuring contests with things that have no business being pitted against each other. It's something to be expected, and I've certainly been guilty of it, but that doesn't make it any less of a waste of energy.

Oh yeah i agree. I kind of dropped out of that kind of thing a long time ago honestly. I still do it once in a while, but i never go into an MCU film or any comic book film for that matter wanting to compare to what came before. usually i only do if i see someone else ask.

Agree on all fronts.

I really enjoyed Infinity War as well. I think the Russo Bros. did the best job they could, given all the characters and plot threads in it.

Very interesting article, Batlobster. I'm skipping Infinity War and waiting for the DVD. I'm sure it's good; the character I'm most interested in is Thanos though. But I'm just not hyped for it like comicbook films before it. I might be the only, but I've always preferred Raimi's first two Spider-Man films, First Class, DOFP, Deadpool and Logan over everything in the MCU. Oh, and that Nolan Batman trilogy was pretty good too.

I liked Winter Soldier quite a bit and really enjoyed Civil War. Even though I wish they would have not went for the cookie cutter ending. The first Iron Man and Black Panther were really good too.

I enjoyed Infinity War too, it definitely entertained me and I liked Brolin's Thanos... but I'll be damned if I didn't just read Film Critic Hulk's essay about the film and agree with just about all of it.

The essay is good overall but at the risk of sounding like a whiner, this line right here: 'Yes, they’re mostly a bunch of smart alec-y white dudes (which the MCU is finally starting to change)"

...you just had to race bait, just a little, eh? Couldn't let that go?

Britain's favourite superhero revealed - but would he beat Superman in a fight?

Batman is the nation’s all-time favourite superhero - but Superman would win in a fight, a study found.

Researchers have revealed the nation’s best loved superheroes, from the classics like Superman and Batman to emerging favourites like Black Panther and Deadpool.

The poll of 2,000 adults found Thor, Iron Man, Superman and Wonder Woman all featured in the top 20.

Also among the list of favourite screen legends were Wolverine, The Flash and Deadpool who returns to the big screen on the 15th of May.

The study, which was commissioned by Vue to celebrate National Superhero Day, taking place on 28th April, also found that while twenty-two per cent said they enjoy reading superhero comic books, 53 per cent love to watch a superhero film.

More than one third adore watching their favourite characters come to life, with 49 per cent agreeing it’s exciting to watch superhero films on the big screen.

Dean Cross, Film Content Manager at Vue said: “Superheroes have been gracing our screens for years now, and it seems they have become more popular than ever before.

“While the archetypal heroes like Superman, Batman and Spider-Man still reign supreme as the all-time favourites, this looks set to change with an influx of new superhero films – with super-cool characters in leading roles - taking to the big screen.”

Researchers also settled the age-old debate of who would win in a fight, Batman or Superman, with more than half in agreement Superman would come out victorious.

Nearly four in 10 said it’s because he is an actual superhero, with 55 per cent saying he is super strong, despite Batman's popularity.

Adam West is the actor adults think played the best Batman, with Christopher Reeve being the best Superman ever to grace screens.

Batman really does reign supreme though, as The Dark Knight took the vote for the best superhero film, followed by The Dark Knight Rises and Batman (1989).

The study also found Wonder Woman is the superhero women would most want to be, with men preferring to take on the role of Superman.

Adults relish in their favourite characters so much, invisibility featured as the superpower most adults would like to have.

This was closely followed by flying and time travel, with teleportation and super healing making the top five most desired superhero abilities.

However, 12 per cent agreed they prefer villains over superheroes, with the Joker, Penguin and Lex Luthor featuring as the top three villains of all time.
