Your current opinion of Daniel Craig as James Bond

He's a hell of an actor. He seemed fine in the trailer. So far, so good. Won't be able to make a complete judgement until the movie is actually out or maybe another, more character droven trailer.

Thats what I want as well. An edgier and more character driven trailer with some emotion, and only some action.....not an all action trailer that looks cheesy. I think Craig will kick serious butt as Bond.

I like Craig more each day. He's clearly a Bond in the Connery mode, and brings the role a machismo it's been missing since Connery left the role. Moore and Brosnan had an elegance, whereas Connery was a man's man. That's what Craig is. And his voice is perfect - an upper class growl.

Can't wait to see him in action!

After Casino Royale arrives in cinemas, I'm not looking forward to posting in the "Craig Is Better Than Brosnan" "Craig Deserves To Die" threads.

But I am glad they more or less FedEx movies from the theatre to DVD's these days, can't wait to watch CR over and over at home lol

Why is there even a poll up? How can you even make an opinion of Craig as Bond this early in the game? I mean, he's a British guy, and so... um, I guess my opinion is "Well, okay then." I have no opinion.

I can't possibly know. Haven't seen the movie. I'm hopeful that this will be similar to watching a resurrection of Dalton's "Licence to Kill"-style Bond, though.

well after seeing the new trailer, i have to admit that i'm at least a little more confident in Craig... he may not be the greatest Bond actor, but if the film turns out to be as good as the trailer makes it look, he'll certainly at least be worth watching!

From the pics, posters, and especially trailer, Craig looks terrible. He's too short (shortest Bond ever, and it shows), his features looks like he could sandpaper something with relative ease, and he's pretty ugly to boot. His cro-magnon brow could shelter a family from the rain, his ears look like Alfred E. Newman's, and his eyes look dead. He looks nothing like a sophisticated, smart spy...more like a thoughtless brute that would headbutt you.

He's a good actor, no doubt, but so far, I am NOT sold with him as Bond. I see Craig more as a villain than as James Bond.

In regards to the 'sophisicated, smart spy' part. Isn't the Bond Craig plays in CR a Bond free of all the conventions that we know him for? As I understand it, it's a learning curve for him; he's finding his feet having just become a '00', on the journey to becoming the 'sophisicated, smart spy' that you recognise Bond as being. This Bond might be a little rough around the edges but after watching 'Layer Cake', I've no doubt that Craig can demonstrate the class and sophistication required when called upon. Plus, how do you know that the Bond is CR isn't smart?

With regards to his height. Doesnt bother me. Cruise as Ethan Hunt never looked like he couldnt be a badass spy (imo) and he's only a couple of inches away from being a dwarf.

His eyes look dead? That's subjective. Personally, I think they look blue. Exactly what do 'dead eyes' look like?

And with regards to his ears, Check out Connery's - they were'nt exactly small either. Either were Lazenbys,-

i think i'm gonna end up liking Daniel Craig as Bond more than i did Pierce. Pierce was a cool Bond, but he wasn't a dangerous Bond. when i imagine Bond, i imagine a man who looks like he'd shoot me in the head w/out even blinking and then going to get that martini 5 minutes later...and that's the way Daniel Craig seems to be playing Bond. awesome...


...my ONLY gripe about is not his face or his height (wtf?)...it's his hair and eyes. i sooooo wish they spent a day darkening his hair and eyebrows along with getting him some dark contacts. i envision Bond to have very DARK features much like Colin Farrel and Tom Cruise but w/out the pretty boy faces. i don't think there would've been as big of an outcry if they had just made Daniel look like this...

So far from the trailer and promo photos he looks like he fits in well. Who cares if his hair might be ONE shade lighter than Roger Moore's. And, too short? He's only two inches shorter than most the other actors who have played the part.. hardly noticable unless when you buy or rent the movie next year, you want to pause the screen and waste your time comparing his height to other objects in the room in the shot. Besides, his appearance is not nearly as big of a change as what they did with the new Felix Leiter.

i think hes the best bond since connery. cool,stylish, a little bit gruff and rough. he seems more classic bond to me then pretty boy pierce who i believe, that while he was a great bond in goldeneye, he was aging a bit to much to be bond.

thats exactly how i feel about bond also. cept i dont mind his hair and eyes but i will admit i think the black hair makes him look like a classic bond such as connery

totally...someone should start a petition for Daniel to dye his hair and get contacts for the sequel...

he looks soooo much more like Bond with darker features...
