I'm impressed they went with "This Christmas" and not "This HOLIDAY season".Good for them.

This guy reminds me of the Gold Cylon on classic BSG. When I was a kid I used to wonder why the Stormtroopers didn't have a "boss" Stormtrooper like the Cylons had. Well, you wait long enough....t:
I have to say using Luke's voice over was perfect, and relieves my fears, that we're getting a new Skywalker (I'm assuming Rey). And also that shot of Han saying, "Chewie, we're home" is surreal! Thinking back a few years ago when Harrison openly said he had no interest in the role anymore, it's amazing to see that. Heck, I never thought we'd ever see an Episode VII! I was mildly interested by the first teaser, but this was something else! Can't wait for December!
Never understood why people preferred "Holiday" over "Christmas."I'm impressed they went with "This Christmas" and not "This HOLIDAY season".Good for them.![]()
Because some people cannot seem to grasp the idea that the OT Stormtroopers were NOT clones.

Easily.
To which "Home" is Han referring to, the Millennium Falcon? Surely he didn't just park it for over 30 years & not go out on any adventures while he was with Leia.
I actually like all the bits with the new characters. I never really got the backlash over John Boyega playing a Stormtrooper... we had Lando Calarissian in the OT for crying out loud. The action is refreshingly reminiscent of the original trilogy, with the in-camera, VFX and CGI making for a more seamless and organic visual experience.
The weakest part of the trailer was the one everyone loved -- the bit with Han and Chewie -- fell flat to me. I know it's been over 30 years since the OT, but why does Ford look that bad? He looked better in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull...

Oh man, I've got a friend who's a huge SW fan who just can't get his head around this. Worth noting he doesn't use forums like this, but still - After the first trailer he was trying to tell me Finn must be a Rebel who was undercover as a Stormtrooper and I told him otherwise. Kept saying that doesn't make sense because they're clones, I told him they weren't clones in the OT hence the different voices and heights etc. Then yesterday he was STILL doing it! Just looks at me like I'm crazy or the powers that be are trying to pull a fast one.Come on, man.

I'm convinced a half of of it IS racism, hiding under the guise of 'I thought the troopers were clones. Just by the tone by some of the comments I read when the first teaser came out. ....Even though the actor is Māori, which is something people have forgotten.
A good example of this was in a comments section, someone was upset by John Boyega. I had to log in to dig depper into his person's issue. And oh boy, then he said 'I didn't have an issue with Lando because he wasn't the main character." Then he finally casually admitted "I just can't relate to characters who are black." Stuff like that, that I've seen and interacted with.
How was Lando not a main character? For the second half or ESB and all of ROTJ, he most definitely IS a main character.
Well hopefully they lured him back by promising to give him some interesting stuff to do this time around. Han was just kind of "there" in ROTJ. He didn't really get much interesting character-work or plot relevance, he was just along for the ride. Which is why for years I kind of agreed with Harrison that Han probably should have died earlier on in ROTJ, to close out his character arc.
But maybe JJ and co have realized this as well and come up with some kind of interesting character progression for Han this time around.
