The Dark Knight Your favorite rumor that ended up to be bunk...

I noticed that myself, and am surprised no one else has mentioned this nod yet, as soon as I heard it I was like ohh Yeahh!
Come on, it's all over the place. Fanboys going crrrrrazy because of the —supposed— Catwoman reference

Ya I was actually a litle pissed about that last one, because a quick glimpse of him in his cell during that final montage would have been a thing of beauty, but o well...

I like that they didn't show the Joker in Arkham, it leaves the possibility of the Joker being out open. Not that I want another Joker movie, but it's nice knowing he could still be out there.

My favorite bunk rumor was Harvey Turning into Two-Face towards the end leaving Two-Face as the main vilian in the next Bat-Movie. I was actually glad this turned out to be false.

Damn, those rumors were really good ideas.:csad: ****, I'm disappointed as hell.

I avoided the spoilers carefully, but luckily I misread one spoiler. I thought Joker threw Maroni off of a high rise, but instead I got a bone break by Batman. Glad I was wrong.

Does anyone realize Joker would not be in Arkham; he's not mentally ill. He knew what he was doing he wasn't mentally incapacitated when he set all of those things up.

Is Arkham still in use? It had a huge break out; wouldn't they close it until they could ensure safety? Either way Joker was not crazy

Scarecrow supplying Joker with Fear Toxin and/or Laughing Gas...and Joker then killing him after the deal.

-I didn't want any of the villains to die, but oh well, it made thematic sense.

-The Joker getting sprayed with Crane's fear gas and it having no effect at all would have been superb.

-The Joker actually being permawhite, but it is better in this film for him to mock his own scars and willfully deface his face with the makeup as opposed to his look the result of an accident or chemical bath.

-A hint of the Riddler anywhere in the film would have been cool.

The guy who played Gator, Winston Ellis, actually said in an interview that he was the one it was said to. :whatever:

But isn't that Gator the Joker turns to and asks, "Why so serious?" just before he cuts open Gamble? The Joker turns to one of the goons and asks that, but who that is I am not sure.

-Joker would go to Arkham he is mentally unstable, he wears make-up, he doesn't feel pain, and he doesn't care who he hurts.

-Arkham is most likely back in use since The Dark Knight takes place about a year after Batman Begins. But who knows Gordan said the Narrows were lost in Begins.

-The Joker isn't crazy he's freaking insane. Your going to tell me a person getting thrown off the top of a building while laughing isn't crazy? or a guy who makes up stories about where he got his scars?

He's a lunatic; but, he's not crazy.

The law grants the insanity plea only when someone is proven to be so mentally unstable that they aren't aware what they're doing. Robbing a Bank and manipulating cops and mobsters takes premeditation; something that contradicts insanity.

The Guy did some crazy things; but, he was not mentally ill. He's an anarchist he wants this; this is his joy, he knows what he's doing is wrong; but, he doesn't care.

Thats a lot different than not knowing what you're doing. Remember why they didn't want Falcone in Arkham in BB? Because it was the easy way out;criminals need prisons and mentally challenged dangers need arkahm. Joker was the former

"You're crazy"

"No I'm not...No I'm noT"

I thought there was a rumor going around earlier this year that the Joker used an abandoned abattoir as his hideout. It would have been cool to see, but I had no idea if it was true or not.

its not specifically referenced but in the two video's he releases you see chunks of meat hanging behind him, so i guess it was true. it just didnt really play into the film at all, which i liked. i liked having no idea where the joker was at any time.

A person getting enjoyment out of killing people, causing chaos, and lives without rules is a person driven by anarchy but that person is also crazy. The way the Joker says "No I'm not...No I'm noT" proves it even more how crazy he is.

HAHAHA someone watched the psychology of the dark knight on the history channel. Trying to explain the insanity defense. Cute.

I thought I read somewhere it was six months after Begins. And Arkham was in use in the anime, if that can be considered cannon.

"A year ago, these cops and lawyers.."

Really old rumor. Some people speculated AMH was the real Joker.
I remember that - in fact, what I was going to submit as my answer to this thread is that AMH didn't turn out to be the Real Joker or Leader of the Vigilante Bats or something - anything - other than the tabloidy reporter. I really like AMH and his part just seemed so...cliche and boring.

The amusement park showdown would have been cool though. I was looking forward to that.

"A year ago, these cops and lawyers.."

a year ago would represent right before batman showed up in gotham. depending on how long the events in BB take place would lead up to whatever time between the movies transpired.
