So with the Oscars coming up soon, I'd like to see who everyone's most preferred best film was of the last 10 years.

personally in 2009, I still think tdk should've been nominated. the fact they only didn't nominated because the source material was graphic novel literature is beyond inconsiderate.

No Country for Old Men. 2007 was just an absolutely killer year. Would have been even better if Zodiac had made the cut.

2010 should have belonged to The Social Network.

Drive.

Oh, this about Oscar winners specifically. No Country for Old Men I guess.

I have not seen one of these movies and like half I haven't heard of lol. But a lot of time movies that win awards I have never heard of lol. My favorite in the last 10 years though is dark knight rises and my favorite movie of all time.

My favourite of this list would be The Departed, Million Dollar Baby and Argo, but I'm not at all sure about the order there.

*I still haven't seen 12 Years a Slave or The Artist.

Or you know, the academy as a group thought that there were 5 movies better than The Dark Knight that year.

Crazier things have happened.

12 Years a Slave is definitely a worthy movie. No Country for Old Men as well.

I havent watched many of these in a while so 12 Years a Slave or No Country for Old Men.

I dont have any real problems with the Hurt Locker winning but I probably would chosen Inglourious Basterds myself.

Though there are many films on this list that I enjoyed, even a few that I love, The Departed is the only film that I truly felt was the "best film of the year" the year it came out, so it gets my vote.

Do you live under a rock?

No I watch a lot and I mean a lot of tv and normaly movies that win awards are movies that I never once see a preview for or hear about in till the award show comes up. Like 12 years a slave I never heard or saw a preview in till the award show and I still don't know what it is about beside something to do with slaves all I know is that zimmer did the music.

The only ones of those I've seen are Hurt Locker and No Country For Old Men...so I'll pick No Country For Old Men.

The biggest comic book movie robbery of all time will be/has been Blue is the Warmest Color.

It unanimously won the Palm D'or at the Cannes Film Festival, and for the first time ever at the festival, the award was presented to the lead actresses in addition to the director.

HOWEVER...due to being a French film with a fractured international release. The actresses were eligible at last year's Oscars (Adèle Exarchopoulos was FANTASTIC) but were overlooked despite universal rave reviews. The film itself is apparently eligible for this year's Oscars, but is really old news by now so there's no reason for it to be nominated.

This was truly our chance to get a graphic novel adaptation the Oscar. I'm not sure when another movie like this will come along. It's a shame.

I'm kind of with you here. So many movies that are nominated or win awards fly under the radar until awards shows come around. I honestly had no idea what The Theory of Everything was about or who was in it until watching the Golden Globes the other night.

Also, many award-winning movies just don't appeal to me. I can't even sit through a trailer for The King's Speech without getting bored, and I honestly have no desire to see certain movies like Boyhood or The Artist.

But anyway... The Departed. I think that's a great movie.

Life of Pi. (Sorry, I just saw it's not on the list.)

I was torn between 12 Years a Slave and The Departed. Went with 12 Years in the end.

1. Hurt Locker
2. Departed
3. No Country for Old Men
4. Argo
5. Crash

Cant say any of them are personal favourites of mine but of those listed that would be my top 5.

Tie between No Country for Old Men and The Departed for me, and those two were the only two on the list that were my top picks of their respective years. That being said, I have only seen about half or so of the Best Picture nominees in those years.

The only one of these I've seen is The Departed.

In each of those years, I felt that another nominee, and sometimes even a non-nominated film on top of that, deserved the Oscar. But NCFOM is the most memorable of those for me, and I am glad so many others feel the same way.

This list is depressing.

There's no way these are the best movies of the last decade.

I know, I looked at the list of the nominees that didnt win along side these films and for me it was a way stronger list. Guess the academy think otherwise to me. :oldrazz:

The only movies on this list that I've seen are Slumdog Millionaire and No Country for Old Men. My favorite of 2013 was Nebraska.
