You caught the end of BvS right ? You know, the being dead bit and people mourning sequences ?

Which was also unearned.

But my point is the previous movies never demonstrated Superman having a positive impact on humanity as a whole. All we got was a montage of people disagreeing and being unsure about him.

So JL opening with a montage of the world going to **** because he died didn't really feel genuine or earned.

See if BvS featured JL Superman, a Superman who was proud and hopeful, who DEMONSTRATABLY inspired others... we wouldn't be in this mess now. Guaranteed.

I got all that from both MoS and BvS. I appreciate others won't have.

Too little too late. For all the talk about how important Superman supposedly was to the earth, they did a poor job actually showing that. Wordless, brooding montages of him silently rescuing people narrated by pundits arguing over him don't tell me how people actually feel about him but I guess they thought that would do. It's even more non-existent in MoS.

So what scenes in BvS showed a proud hopeful Superman who was an inspiring beacon for the entire world? What scenes actually showed that his presence was making a positive impact on humanity as a whole?

Because the film I saw showed that everyone was still divided over this seemingly God like alien.

Oh ok, thanks for the warning !
I thought it was ok because it was posted on one of the major french websites about DC...

Yeah, mods won't allow that stuff there. Just stick to reddit for that type of stuff.

It's really weird that some folks don't get that. "But the world was mourning Superman!". They literally spent the whole film showing Superman as a figure of controversy; that ending simply doesn't work. You don't just say "Hey, everybody loves Superman now!" and expect the audience to be ok with it.

It's clear BvS is what killed this franchise. Narratively, thematically and financially.

Maybe it's that "You don't what you got until it's gone" kind of thing.

Zack's Version is a masterpiece!!! read for all the deleted scenes of JL
ZACK's Version of JL is a masterpiece!!! it's complete and explain much better. it a complete closure of MOS trilogy and great opening to all the new possibilities.

I sincerely apologise to Zack Synder for doubting him the last few months even though he has proven to me again and again that his works is an artpiece and epic. and I love them so much.

Screw all the critics and WB top heads!!!!!!! cry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

let's sign the petition and ask for the Zack's version!!!!

I did warn everyone.... :cwink:

I saw the Superman thing as... the world was divided on him when he lived. But after he died and Luthor's involvement came to light, the world came around to him. A "You dont know what you have until its gone" kinda scenario.

Makes sense to me.

You can already confirm with the leak of the Barry/Iris scene.

So in Snyder's version Superman almost roasts innocent bystanders, Batman is suicidal or at the least has a death wish, and Lois introduces Clark Kent as Superman

What kind of head ass nonsense is this?

I got all that from both MoS and BvS. I appreciate others won't have.

I got it mostly from the ending of MOS, from the clumsy drone scene to where he rides in on a bike and joins the Planet.. I though he was mostly "Superman" at the end of MOS (trust rewarded and all that)...then BvS pulled him back into the "in doubt" state..... not even a simple montage of Metropolis citizens contrasting their light champion vs the darkness of Gothams hero...

As others have said, the globe mourning Superman didnt feel earned.

I also don't think it's fair that they've basically done their own movie with his elements, but he still gets the trashing. It's like WB and Joss get off scot-free while Snyder shoulders the blame.

I'm not saying Snyder would have made a better movie than the version we got. All I'm saying is that it's not fair to judge JL as his movie because it's pretty clear it's not.

Well I have no prof, but I do think Snyder version would have been better personally. Agree with you on the rest though.

But that's the thing, we haven't been SHOWN Superman doing these things in previous movies. In BvS he was still an illusive God like being that people were still divided on.

So in JL it's all unearned really.

I wouldn’t say it’s unearned. People weren’t totally divided on him, they questioned some things he did. Also, the UE shows that a lot of the media hate was set up by Lex, including the lady from the village at the beginning who lied about Superman killing people. She had a change of heart and then was killed, as was the Senator before she could let people know about it publicly.

But remember, at the end of MOS he had a statue built to honour him, and then at the end of BvS he literally sacrificed his life to save the world. By the end of BvS certainly, he was a figure of hope and people realised the hero he was.
