Justice League Zack Snyder Directing Justice League (The Snyder Cut Edition) - Part 2

Its really tough to decided which scene was better.

In the ZSJL Batman wins and in this one Joker wins the "debate"

I guess you could have had him say the honor line after he said "you almost had me"

Poor Leto once again having his best work on the editing room floor :funny:

Just a matter of time before Zack drops the "Green Lantern" clip right? :hehe:

So i was never clear on that, did Zack actually FILM the GL scene and then WB axed it in 2016? Or did they axe it before he could film it?

he filmed it.
he said he had to refilm it again with ben for martian manhunter for oct 2020 reshoots, because ben was covered in green light for the original scene.
the rumor is it was trevante rhodes playing jon stewart in the scene too they filmed back in 2016.

when zack was asked by wb to remove the scene cuz they wanted to do their own GL show, zack said he was uncomfortable with removing an actor of color from his movie.
the compromise was he would replace it with MM, and have harry lennix play the role.

I think he gave a lot more barbs in the Snyder cut challenging Bruce's choices whereas here he is moreso just being triggery to Bruce is how I saw it.

Edit: I also like how Joker doesn't directly respond back to Batman in the Snyder cut compared to how he gives a bit of a speech in this alternate take from the trailer. The conversation feels more natural in the Snyder cut.

I suppose this is unfinished business that will remain unfinished as Bruce is trying to avoid screwing up the timeline towards meeting up with Lois that will require his self sacrifice later on. Joker perhaps dies in the ensuing meelee with Superman. Batman perhaps needs some (he isn't sure who) dying here as a distraction to escape.

I presume the events in BvS nightmare happen after Batman fails to meetup with Lois. Flash needs to go back in time then to warn Bruce (if Joker and Cyborg still around perhaps they help Flash do this here if didn't die where JL nightmare ends).

Zack didn’t shoot the GL scene from his driveway in 2016. He shot it in October 2020. So he could just throw it on a blu ray.

That was my impression. I am confused on this now. 2016 or 2020?

The Lantern appearing ties together the last of the civilizations mentioned in the history lesson and feels like more grandiose although I liked seeing Martian Manhunter appear in action he probably was intended to coordinate the military involvement with the league at a later point.

If it isnt checkmarked assume it is fake.

That MM with Ben scene is definitely 2020 Ben, no doubt about it. My confusion was IF there was an entirely different scene shot in 2016 with Ben and GL which it sounds like there was but WB in 2020 told Zack “no, you cant use that in the Snyder cut because of our imaginary GL plans.”

is it as i said -- WB is announcing their upcoming plans just to cancel them.

WB is like bane in tdkr. giving us false hope:

Nope. Ben shot a scene in 2016. Zack never shot the opposite side back then until fall 2020 where he got an actor to do his GL scene in his driveway. It was then scrapped. Zack shot a new scene with Ben with some adjusted dialogue in October 2020 along with the MM side to connect the two.

I think it might have been 2020 for Lantern scene. I recall reading Snyder saying he shot this scene in his driveway and assume he just shot Martian Manhunter in his driveway as well right after but I could be wrong on this?

That answers the confusion.

I hope they add it back in and keep the Martian Manhunter scene as an extra as great seeing him fly (his scene as Clark's mother definitely keep though).

But then....ok. So he casts a guy as GL in 2020 and shoots it....under whose authority? WB would have had to give him the greenlight (no pun intended) to CAST an actor, pay him (presumably) and shoot it right? And then they told him ‘nevermind’ after they let him? Thats why im confused.

They don’t need to sign off on everything. I’m sure that part was made like an indie. Then they found out and scrapped it.

I think this is where a lot of the BTS drama is stemmed from, to be frank. Snyder has mentioned on more than a few occasions he outright disobeyed WBs mandates. For his fanbase they consider it badass as it caters to their wants, but from the studio side I can see how that's a huge pain in the ass. And undoubtedly sheds some doubt on how well they'd gel on future productions.

THR reports that Ava DuVernay's's New Gods got canned and Snyder drops concept art of Granny Goodness (who looks nothing like Granny Goodness btw as you would expect)

Like that one time he released a pic of Xena-on-Steroids holding a bouquet of human heads at the most convenient time, which he did to promote WW84 of course, a movie he "loves"
That's not true.
