Justice League Zack Snyder Directing Justice League (The Snyder Cut Edition) - Part 2

I'm excited for live action green lantern anything. You haters need to relax.

Their dynamic in that particular interview is precisely the opposite in the films themselves.

According to a new listing from Production List from less than 2 months ago, the series is scheduled to begin filming in LA in 10 days.

...But I don't think it involves John Stewart.
This is unusual. No cast, no director announced yet for something that’s supposed to be filming this soon?

Agreed, it's unusual. Though I wouldn't be surprised if showrunner Seth Grahame-Smith was also the director of the pilot. He was gonna direct the Flash film at one point, afterall. But Production List is an official industry resource that works directly with the studios, so while it's certainly possible they got their wires crossed, it's not like it came from any of those fake scoop sites. But yeah, on Feb 15th, they added Green Lantern to their database (though listed as a feature) with a start date of April 12th in Los Angeles.

There was a part of me that thought they were deliberately keeping the casting quiet until David Ramsey did his "across the Arrowverse" guest-appearances he's doing soon because they were gonna reveal he's a Green Lantern and starring in this show, but I'm really hoping that part of me is wrong, because I don't want a show about Diggle as a Lantern.

I will believe a Green Lantern movie happens when I see it. I feel no reason to believe it is happening for realz.

what interview is this? and why does Ben look like that?

Sad Affleck | Know Your Meme

Sad Affleck refers to the look of dismay worn by actor Ben Affleck, who portrays Batman in the 2016 DC Comics superhero film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, during a Yahoo! UK interview in response to a question concerning its lukewarm reception from the critics. Upon its release in March 2016, the video clip of Affleck somberly listening to the interviewer's description of the critics' reviews quickly went viral on YouTube, prompting the creation of parodies and remixes using sad music and imagery.

I mean, look, at the end of the day its WB's property, they can do what they want. BUT, my only argument is that nothing is happening with GL right now and I GUARANTEE you a a cameo scene with John Stewart would have gotten people excited and then, y'know, maybe would have emboldened WB even further to expedite a GL movie. Look at all the excitement over Darkseid that this movie has generated. New Gods is canceled but we all got to SEE Darkseid in this movie and now WB knows theres interest for that world. Snyder's giving people appetizers of the DC universe and showing the cool potential all these characters have.

So, look, if DC/WB doesnt want the GL scene out so be it, thats their choice but.....why not man? What harm will it do? it will only get people excited about Green Lantern again

I am not saying what WB should do...but Snyder spitting in their face is not a smart plan.

Same, I'm also skeptical of that Blue Beatle movie, that Zartanna movie, and probably that Superman movie.

I'm willing to bet that Marvel will make a (successful) Squadron Supreme movie before DC manages to make another JL.

Eh, they have more well known properties to make before that like - Fantastic four, X-men, Defenders and Inhumans,

Zack should 100% release it. WB doesnt care about undermining him or his movie in public. Its payback time. And from what I'm hearing there will be a GL bomb dropped soon by Snyder. I hope he does it the day they announce GL info, just to rub it in more. Hamada & co will be so triggered lmao, it would completely overshadow whatever they announce. That would cleanse my soul.

Zack: “Imma release the GL scene”
WB: “No.”
Zack: “Go?”

At this point, I have become immune to what Marvel is doing, first everything they will make will be received with good reviews and fanfare, second, their quality stays the same.

As for WB..

I'm almost certain they don't really know what that means. Either the multiverse thing was a smoke screen, or they genuinely don't understand what multiverse means lol. It's one or the other.

Also begs the question...did Snyder use a complete cgi suit for GL like Reynolds?

They pretty much gave Snyder the go ahead with everything else.

Not quite. They were against a lot of things and Snyder revealed in not so many words that Hamada and co told him to culdesaac it as much as possible, and they only reached a compromise when HBO max stepped in.

I'll just be frank. The studio didn't want me to shoot anything (new). One of the rules of making the Snyder Cut was that the studio said no shooting of any kind. And then I just, of course, shot stuff anyway. Because suddenly, wait, there’s rules now on this? I didn't know. (laughs) That seems unfair. It's called Snyder Cut. And frankly there are those caveats because there were a lot of things -- and I won't list them here -- that the studio did not want me to have in my version of the movie. And so they were like, ‘Please don't do anything.’ Like, no Darkseid coda. That can't be in there. Those are the kinds of things that were in there. And I think, frankly, that was all just because they have their own cinematic universe, and that's great. And they were afraid that what I did might… because they consider the theatrical cut as canon, and my cut as the Elseworld, other kind of cul-de-sac. We know the terms.

Why not both being true?

That MM with Ben scene is definitely 2020 Ben, no doubt about it. My confusion was IF there was an entirely different scene shot in 2016 with Ben and GL which it sounds like there was but WB in 2020 told Zack “no, you cant use that in the Snyder cut because of our imaginary GL plans.”

Only Ben's side was shot in 2016. There were green lights on him during production. Zack shot the GL side in his backyard in 2020. But when WB stopped him, he completely reshot Ben's side as well and included MM. They couldnt re-use Ben's side because of the green lights.
